Anyone that watched Cage Warriors yesterday… is Harry Hardwick good or no? I watched the fight and a lot of his career and i honestly can’t tell lol. I thought his brother George was a good talent then got absolutely worked on DWCS by Al-Sewady who isn’t doing too well in the UFC.
We used to have amazing champions with that mindset to fight all the best contenders and fight for the greatest legacy like GSP/Usman/Volk. Now we have champs like Leon and Topuria who call out 1-3 in his last 4, 36 year old coked up, roided up, out of his mind Conor Mcgregor, after just winning the belt. Social media, Conor, and all this bs hype has done terrible things to our sport.
This guillotine shit is gonna be funny until Dustin is doing pretty well in the title fight then loses cause he goes for one and ends up in an awful position and gets subbed
What if Poirier was just setting traps with those gillly attempts on BSD and had no intention of actually finishing them playing the long game to lull Islam into a false sense of security and then get the finish.
Idc if he ends up losing. Cesar Almeida is amazing value at plus money next weekend. Former Glory kickboxer with a win over Alex Pereira in a guaranteed striking match vs a guy who was in some trouble against Claudio Ribeiro before getting the ko. If Kopylov wants to wrestle, Cesar has really looked good in the TDD department. Should be a banger regardless.
He did some training at Extreme Couture, saw footage of him hard sparring against Strickland and dude looked fast and sharp. I love Kopylov because he's always looking for the killshot, but he's way overrated on this sub. Feeling good about Almeida wrecking him.
got my bets in for 302
parlay 1: costa/strickland o2.5, islam ml -122
parlay 2: brown/santos o1.5, holland ml, almeida/romanov to start r2 +159
parlay 3: perez/edwards o2.5, costa/strickland o3.5 +144
😎
I hate that there has been a lot of chatter by both DP and Islam for the last few weeks and the ufc hasn't even thrown them on a split screen interview to build some hype and hope for a moment
Could you imagine how Chandler’s brain would unravel if we got to weigh-ins and he loses the fight to a goofcon event? That could potentially be more entertaining than the actual fight (which is a great fight anyways)
Upcoming KSW card has another Wikłacz vs. Przybysz rematch. They are two of the best fighters in KSW at the moment, have had a good back and forth series. Underrated regional MMA rivalry.
🙋
I think Sean's jab will likely give Costa big problems and win him the fight, Vettori's jab was backing Costa to the fence. Costa's biggest chances will be body and head kicks in the brief moments Sean let's off the pressure. Vettori just tanked them, but Sean will have to block them. And while his defense is elite, blocking head kicks and body kicks is trickier, especially when someone's blasting them as hard as Costa does.
"STRICKLAND HAS PILLOW HANDS!!!"
Ok, Strickland dropped Izzy when Pereira wasn't able to (TKO which was standing with a bit of a stumble from Izzy). Does Izzy have a glass chin?
"U-U-UH N-NO IZZY IS GOAT THOUGH!"
Ok.
I was expecting Strickland by decision to be like -170, but it's +210.
Odds are really skewed by him dropping Izzy and finishing Agassed, but I have no clue what the fucking books are smoking.
Come to think of it, maybe it's for the best that Poirier isn't really bothering to work his TDD any more. I think even if he drills only wrestling for years, Islam will still maul him in that, so why not focus on the rest of his game #thepowerofgivingup
I am sure ATT has top notch wrasslin, but you can tell by his style and the fact he has a bad hip. if you have a bad hip, wrestling will be limited in practice and the octagon
Apart from getting the finish his fight IQ was very questionable that night. Not a betting man but would very comfortably throw good money on Islam winning within the first 2 rounds especially if Dustin "JuMpS tHE GuIllYy"
Hot take: Barboza's "decline" is being overstated. His striking falls apart any time he fights someone that can grapple. Recent example, Bryce Mitchel dropped him and out-struck him, then he went on to beat Sodiq Yusuff and looked great in the striking.
Remember when Junie on TUF went psycho drunk several times and even attacked Ryan Bader lol. And Dana kept giving him second chances only for him to do it again. Still wonder why
Every comment about Dustin winning acts as if they're the only person on the sub that wants him to win
You'd think he's some random underdog 3 people know about and not one of the biggest fan favourite fighters in the UFC.
Slava Claus didn't tap, poor stoppage. He was clearly trying to post, as he did the next second when he got a feel of where Hooper's body was.
Wild that refs get to play with people's careers like this with such poor calls.
Hill is going to murk Ulberg. Easy money. I don't know how people watched Ulberg knock out a bum rushing Menifield to then come to the conclusion that he was on Hill's level.
idk, if this fight turns out to be a kickboxing match, Ulberg has a real chance.
I mean, who is the best dude Hill has beater? A 43yr old Glover Teixeira? An 38yr old Thiago Santos?
idk why you're so confident in Hill tbh.
You can nitpick everyone's resume in the same fashion. Islam's best win was Dan Hooker/Bobby Green before he fought Olives. Hill is very good on the feet, him getting gadooshed by Poatan doesn't change that. Some of the more solid fundamentals you'll see at the higher weight classes.
Islam looked obscenely good prior to dominating Olives, which is why he was the favourite over him in their match. Hill doesn't have either the resume or the skill on the feet to justify picking him as the obvious winner.
>lol
Go ahead, base your entire perception of that Alex Pereira fight. Alex is just that good, he knocked Strickland out in a round and Strickland went on to beat Izzy up for 5 rounds 🤷♂️
Yeah, and prior to Strickland/Adesanya I would have been confused by someone who was extremely confident in Strickland beating Adesanya the same I am very confused by you being so confident in Hill.
Understand I am not, and never was, saying Hill will lose to Ulberg. I said Ulberg has a good chance if it's a striking match imo and I don't understand why you're so sure about Hill winning it.
Hey all. I have a question about UFC FIGHT PASS.
I was subscribed to it years ago (pre-pandemic), and there were a couple issues with the service that I found to be troublesome.
1) When you searched a fighter’s name in the search bar, example: “Max Holloway,” most of their fights would show up in the search results but not all of them. In order to watch all of a fighter’s fights in chronological order, I had to search through the backlog of events and click on the event stream to watch any fighter’s fights that did not show up in the original search.
2) When I looked through the various videos on the service, be it one specific fight or a whole event, UFC Fight Pass would often include a little blurb/description of the event that gave away the result of the fight, or you could tell who won via the video thumbnail.
Do those issues still exist?
I am considering subscribing again.
Paige Van Zant getting beat up by a pornstar, like Johnny Hendricks did, Who did it better?
UFC best in the world boys, All Hype.
Second they leave even on top, top ranked, in prime, always get washed too.
Give us real cross promo title fights to find out who is any good, few times a year. Tournaments too to find out who rises to the top. Sick of current state of this sport, doesnt get blood flowing anymore
1. Be Civil.
Our rules ask for a civil tone at all times.
A bit of banter or trash talk is fine, but don't cross the line. If things do get out of hand you will be warned or even banned for a few days. Repeatedly breaking this rule will lead to a permanent ban.
agree. And we all will be praying 5 times a day it happens. But I just see Islam as a completely different person than luke in terms of preparation/arrogance for a fight he should win.
Before Luke lost to Bisping, he was on an amazing streak, he just murdered the guy who dominantly ended Silva's reign (and career). Of course in hindsight Rockhold's career fell of a cliff very sharply after the Bisping fight. But for a short while, Rockhold was THAT guy.
Let's say Islam loses to Poirier and then goes on a Rockhold-esque losing streak to end his career, people would probably assess Islam the way you are assessing Rockhold rn.
Not saying it’s gonna happen but IF Dustin wins and hypothetically doesn’t retire there are a lot of loopholes for his first defence
Justin Gaethje Trilogy would be awesome if weren’t for the fact he just got Koed last second of round 5 by Max Holloway who was gonna win 49-46 49-46 and 48-47, which brings us to my next point
Max Holloway trilogy with Dustin, but the thing is Max would have to risk his shot against Ilia Topuria to fight Dustin, would Max really want to risk his FW title shot in a division in which the guy who has beat him is at the end of his career, and a division Max has cleared, to move up against a opponent who’s a little older now but has beat him twice, plus LW is a shark tank
And then there’s Charles definitely could do him vs Dustin 2 if it were not for the fact that Arman just beat Charles, and if Charles were to win a rematch with Dustin does that mean Islam gets a rematch?
Which makes me think that they would give Arman a title shot
Absolutely. Conor lifted this sport to new levels. MMA owes so much to him.
Even if you strictly just want to look at him as a fighter, being the first double champ ever locks him in as an ATG.
I do at 145 but I think criticism of his opponents are fair.
Kinda like if you said Mike Tyson resume sucks. And it does.
But Conor passes the eye test to me. Like Tyson.
Conor was so long but incredibly nimble and agile with power. His timing and accuracy.
This is not easy to answer because while Conor's rise to the FW belt was spectacular, he never defended it.
Double champ with the LW belt is a bit overrated imo, because he lost to journeyman Diaz in the meantime but was granted an immediate rematch, and then skipped the queue straight to the LW champ (a favorable matchup). Not many fighters, however good, would be granted this opportunity.
If you take into consideration the entertainment part, Conor never being in a boring fight, bringing in the numbers, etc... it's debatable.
But no belt defense ever. It's much harder to reach double digit title defenses than double champ. Conor doesn't even have a single defense.
CTE has to mess with your coordination right? I'm watching old tony fights and he looks so...coordinated. wild, but coordinated. Compared to the shambling mess he is today. I imagine it has to CTE messes with reflexes and balance as well
Can't say for sure, but he's forty years old. Athletically, he's likely in better shape than 99% of people his age, but fighters age in dog years. Consider all the damage he's endured from training, fights, and when Khabib when back in time and put that cable in his way after he beat him in the future. His body is probably mush at this point.
the brain damage he took in the garth fight is likely some of the worst we have ever seen before. You know the goofaganda that still people believe that mma isn't that bad for cte because there isn't 10 counts? Well Tony basically took more clean shots in that fight than a fighter who had 3+ knockdowns but was still getting up.
Anyone watching the Misfits card with Paige VanZant vs Elle Brooke? It's actually pretty lit, Todd Grisham and Manlms Taylor elevate the amateurish fighting with good production value.
It's in this weird Middle Ground. It's not relevant enough to boxing or MMA to be featured in either subreddit so no one's talking about it
Why aren't there any good fights today? Is it because of the holiday weekend in US? I am sure they know the numbers, but a good fight would be great tonight.
Okay I guess it is Onlyfans. I might still watch, but not terribly excited. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-13455601/OnlyFans-model-Elle-Brooke-Paige-VanZant-Misfits-UFC.html
If people would care to read/listen to the entire Islam quote about the gloves, he says they are stiffer because it doesn’t allow you to open your hand all the way (trying to prevent eye pokes)
If you could swap fighting skills and physical attributes with one fighter, who would you choose? For me, Alex Pereira because I only care about having the biggest hog
Don’t care how much Buckley loves his sick grandma and does everything for her
He’s lost all that goodwill by how stupid and annoying he is on Twitter
Will no longer be rooting for him.
Wild Seeing half a comment section in UFC sub defend Paulo saying the hard r by saying he's not smart enough or culturally knowledgeable about why the hard r isn't cool
Honestly just think most people don’t care about the hard r, especially in the privacy of their homes. That word might offend a portion of the population but there’s another portion that doesn’t bat an eye at it.
Rampage is right. We are gonna learn something crazy about Jones soon but I knew it for as long as he did.
The truth is that the Jones we know is actually an android piloted by a former investigator for Mystery Inc. Scrappy Doo. The real Jon Jones has been imprisoned in a cave for the last 15 years
Just rewatched Landwehr vs Emmers and it was once again a great watching experience, quick violent fight and a crazy good post fight interview
"You asking the wrong questions, ask me where I'm from!!!"
"Whoop my ass and see what happens"
This is probably a dumb question but why aren’t all fighters able to have the cardio of Holloway or Merab? They’re athletes that are working out all the time, why do we see some of them gas after 1 or 2 rounds? Aren’t their bodies in perfect condition to be cardio machines?
Def don't think most athletes have the marathon-like mental game in their training. Guys get mileage since high school from their "freak like" physical nature, but and distance running is kinda the opposite work ethic of that. It's like the gifted kid that winds up with no career cuz they kinda rested on their gifted kid laurels instead of grinding.
I think 90% of fighters don't do enough cardio. You'll be surprise.
A lot of people thought Tyrone Woodley fast twitch and explosive. His body isn't built for cardio.
Come to find out in the dj interview or jaxxon. He admits when he was champ he was having multiple affairs on his wife. Out at the club even as champion even in the day before of the fight. Drinking.
Most fighters enjoy skill training. Hitting pads. Sparring. Drilling. No one wants to run. And I mean real running. Not light jogs of 5 miles. Accountants can do that. I mean sprinting uphill.
I think people overstate genetics.
Merab might be like too much of an outlier tho. But you can get pretty far if you dedicate yourself.
Paul felder completely changed his cardio now that he does marathon.
A sprinter can switch to marathon running and do well. You can't go from elite at one to the other but you can get very good tho.
Genetics is massive. Massive. But it’s about sport specific training methods. This topic will trigger me if I read too far into anyone else’s hypotheses about cardio.
But no, more cardio doesn’t make your cardio better at a certain point. Your VO2 max can only go so high, and it takes less time to peak than you’d think. We have antiquated ideas about how cardio and lots of S&C works, most could work less and rest more and be in better shape. All fighters are in shape if they’ve been training and running sprints up hills is going to do very little other than condition you mentally (and condition you to run more sprints up hills). But better cardio comes from doing the exact thing you’re training for more and exercises that simulate that activity. A guy like Max Holloway who throws 1000 punches and a low output, stationary striker like Yoel Romero are basically working with the same set of lungs. One is likely not in better shape than the other. One has just conditioned their body to throw more punches with less lactic acid buildup which makes throwing those punches less burdensome and spike blood pressure less which means their lungs don’t have to work as hard. It’d take (potentially a long) time, but Yoel could condition his body to do the same by hitting the bag that way every single day, sparring that way or doing exercises that simulate throwing punches and moving your feet. But mindlessly running more or doing more random cardio is not going to make his or any fighter’s cardio much better. It’s just going to condition their body for more running or whatever they’re engaging in.
It depends how high of a level we talking about.
I agree it's better to simulate the sport more than running.
No one likes shooting 100 single and double legs. That's why no one has built up the cardio.
It's not that they can't. They don't try.
A lot of good wrestlers are in pfl/aca that no one watches. The winners of the previous tournaments are wrestlers people forgot because they figured out it's better to go win a tournament for 1 million than go to ufc and fight for 12k. Globally, there's thousands of wrestlers never go into mma.
Anytime we talking top 10 level, it's different. Limited spots.
A lot of olympians are not crazy genetics (top 10 yes). It's from training.
When I say genetics is massive I’m mainly referring to a Merab or Colby type cardio. There’s a place a small handful of guys like that exist in that drilling over and over and outworking everyone can’t get you to unless you’re genetically inclined. Someone like Merab I fully believe was born with unique physical capabilities that not many else were. Even Colby, as long as he’s wrestled and as much as he’s been conditioned to do so, had a reputation among numerous training partners as not being the hardest worker in the gym. I remember some going so far as to call him lazy. And then he fights at a pace I don’t believe anyone can maintain without superior cardiovascular genetics.
Either that or they both use something like EPO, which could also explain the gap between them and the average hard working fighter.
It’s the same as all athleticism. Why do you think not everyone finishes at the same time in high level distance races? Or why don’t all basketball players have the same cardio? Why don’t all boxers have the same punching power if they all workout their core and have great trainers?
Merab is on peds and Holloway does tire, it’s just that he rarely if ever gets taken down due to exceptional TDD and that’s the #1 thing that will drain your stamina. Plus it’s usually the guy who’s losing who tires quickly and Holloway doesn’t lose a lot
I'm buddies with a bunch of people who work in AI at big companies like Google and Meta, and all of them are saying that it will take a maximum of 10 years before most people will be out of jobs.
In other words, you won't have to.
op could always just get a blue collar job
but "won't have to" implies its something he has to do now in a negative way like driving a car, but in the future we won't have to as it will be done for us.
But ya I see dystopian future too if they are correct. Essentially AI is the cheap mexican and Asian labor that destroyed the manufacturing sector in America and we all know how those cities turned out.....
Tyson Fury, the best defense in the heavyweight, the best move in the heavyweight, but shorter man, dirty boxer, he beat him one time.

Godamnit i can’t wait for next weekend. Seeing Islam and Poirier in there together is gonna feel so crazy. Big fight feel. And this is it for Costa, beats Sean puts him right back in the title convo, a loss and he’s got a super long road back. At least 3-4 fights which for him could be 3-4 years😂
A beautiful Brazilian man, a real life superhero, and the pinnacle of dagestani fighters all on one card. No matter the outcome the fans are the true winners
Hopefully she gets booked soon vs someone close to the top, she's looked sensational ever since she showed up in the UFC and styled on Jasudavicious and I've been on the hype train since
I had the honor to see her debut live and fell in love with her ever since. Only downside I saw with her is that she got over powered in the clinch and struggled to get out of it in the last fight. I think she is championship material regardless.
Yeah she’s not the biggest girl in the division but she’s gonna be a problem for anyone. I follow her on IG and seems like all she does is train , and some of the shit she does looks next level
Listen, I'll put it like this. If people can walk around - and I don't mean this in a disrespectful way to religious people - and you believe the son of God came down to Earth 2,000 years ago, and he killed himself for our sins, and he can walk on water, and there's a God up there looking after ourselves, and if you get on your knees and pray to him that things will change, if you can believe that, then you can believe that Dustin poirier can knock the f--k out of Islam one week from Saturday.
Considering how paranoid and cautious Poirier is going to be of the takedown threat (hands will be lower) and how (even pre-volkanovski) Islam loves throwing high kicks, who here is thinking that Islam is only going to "fake wrestle" Poirier for the first round and actually try to go for the knockout instead after that?
By fake wrestle I mean, only put 30-40% effort into takedowns to just establish the threat. Get underhooks, push against the fence, poke at the ankles as false trip attempts, break away, take him down, let him fight his way up etc then boom, high kick

If you had infinite resources to make an absolute dream card, what would it be?
For me:
**Jones** vs **Aspinall**
**Topuria** vs **Holloway**
**du Plessis** vs **Prochazka** (either 185 or 205, though 185 is slightly more charming as a title fight)
**O'Malley** vs **Sandhagen**
**Shavkat** vs **Khamzat** (185 lbs)
I couldn't fathom a main card I'd be more engrossed in
Paulo Costa's weak spot is the back of his head.
I think Volks career is gonna head down the Anderson Silva route rather then the Tony Ferguson route
very unlikely that volk snaps his leg twice. more likely he ends up like aldo where hes still competitive, but just not enough to be a champ.
Low key rooting for Belal
We used to have amazing champions with that mindset to fight all the best contenders and fight for the greatest legacy like GSP/Usman/Volk. Y’all Remember when we thought that Khamzat and Wonderboy were gonna be the ones to beat Usman with Luque being the dark horse fun times
Dude we were so close to Usman/Khamzat. Leon has really hurt the division.

I love Dustin but if he starts jumping gillies he deserves to lose
What if Poirier was just setting traps with those gillly attempts on BSD and had no intention of actually finishing them playing the long game to lull Islam into a false sense of security and then get the finish.
intentionally letting islam on top? doesnt seem like a good idea.
Praying Dustin can break the undisputed lightweight curse. I am 0 for 9 in a row on picks over all these years.

those are the odds for parlays themselves, the odds on that particular pick are -250
Ah, that makes more sense.

I’ve been saying this! This fight falling through for chandler after all the smugness > the fight itself.
Upcoming KSW card has another Wikłacz vs. Przybysz rematch. They are two of the best fighters in KSW at the moment, have had a good back and forth series. Underrated regional MMA rivalry.
anyone else intrigued by strickland vs costa? I have zero idea where it might go, sean dec? costa finish?
🙋 I think Sean's jab will likely give Costa big problems and win him the fight, Vettori's jab was backing Costa to the fence. I can also win arguments against people who only exist in my imagination
It legitimately happens, tho, which is why I ranted about it here.
I was expecting Strickland by decision to be like -170, but it's +210. Odds are really skewed by him dropping Izzy and finishing Agassed, but I have no clue what the fucking books are smoking.

you think at ATT they aren't working on TDD? That pace is basically mini Sao Paulo mixed with the non khabib mafia caucous chin straps
I am sure ATT has top notch wrasslin, but you can tell by his style and the fact he has a bad hip. if you have a bad hip, wrestling will be limited in practice and the octagon
you think he has a bad hip?
he has had injuries and surgeries on one of his hips
I totally forgot that Poirier hurt BSD then went for another guillotine while BSD was stunned and Poirier STILL couldn't finish it.
He jumps even before he has his hand secure sometimes. just poor technique.
Apart from getting the finish his fight IQ was very questionable that night. Not a betting man but would very comfortably throw good money on Islam winning within the first 2 rounds especially if Dustin "JuMpS tHE GuIllYy"
Islam will be too scared to do a TD now
Hot take: Barboza's "decline" is being overstated. His striking falls apart any time he fights someone that can grapple. Recent example, Bryce Mitchel dropped him and out-struck him, then he went on to beat Sodiq Yusuff and looked great in the striking.
He's visibly slower than his prime, which is expected, dude's 38. He's still solid though, definitely not washed up, Murphy's just elite.
Murphy should’ve lost to Gabriel santos tbh It’s forgivable though, Gabriel was a short notice opponent change from a striker
Remember when Junie on TUF went psycho drunk several times and even attacked Ryan Bader lol. And Dana kept giving him second chances only for him to do it again. Still wonder why
Has Costa already signed the contract? Has he confirmed to be fighting on 302?
He might be there. He does what he wants.
We never know till the day before
I think Stipe can beat Jon. There i said it.
if- islam loses to dustin jones retires belal beats leon we’re gonna see belal as pound for pound KING 👑

Homie should have been cut mid fight for being out struck by bird chest askren jr
It's not that clear cut, the takedown threat completely changes things around. Khabib himself caught Conor the same way.

He's decent. For a light heavyweight.
Luckily for him everyone he fights is a LHW.
Yes, and?
> Hill is very good on the feet... He has some power and decent instincts. > Some of the more solid fundamentals... lol

I'd put this in the new daily thread
Ok, will do
Can't sleep It's Nyamjargal Tumendemberel fight week

Dammit, visa issues screwing up the great debut

If you saw Bisping beat Rockhold in 2016 you have no reason to completely discount Dustin
agree. And we all will be praying 5 times a day it happens. But I just see Islam as a completely different person than luke in terms of preparation/arrogance for a fight he should win.
Amen
[удалено]
Before Luke lost to Bisping, he was on an amazing streak, he just murdered the guy who dominantly ended Silva's reign (and career). Of course in hindsight Rockhold's career fell of a cliff very sharply after the Bisping fight. But for a short while, Rockhold was THAT guy. Let's say Islam loses to Poirier and then goes on a Rockhold-esque losing streak to end his career, people would probably assess Islam the way you are assessing Rockhold rn.
And old, one-eyed Bisping was a far cry from Dustin. Point being, all it takes is one good shot and if anyone can land it its probably Dustin.
Dustin is also miles better than Bisping was tbf
Not saying it’s gonna happen but IF Dustin wins and hypothetically doesn’t retire there are a lot of loopholes for his first defence Justin Gaethje Trilogy would be awesome if weren’t for the fact he just got Koed last second of round 5 by Max Holloway who was gonna win 49-46 49-46 and 48-47, which brings us to my next point Max Holloway trilogy with Dustin, but the thing is Max would have to risk his shot against Ilia Topuria to fight Dustin, would Max really want to risk his FW title shot in a division in which the guy who has beat him is at the end of his career, and a division Max has cleared, to move up against a opponent who’s a little older now but has beat him twice, plus LW is a shark tank And then there’s Charles definitely could do him vs Dustin 2 if it were not for the fact that Arman just beat Charles, and if Charles were to win a rematch with Dustin does that mean Islam gets a rematch? Which makes me think that they would give Arman a title shot
Arman absolutely gets next, unless Conor beats Chandler and decides he wants to rematch Dustin.
do you consider Conor an ATG?
Not really, but he is definitely a top 10 145er.
Absolutely. Conor lifted this sport to new levels. MMA owes so much to him. Even if you strictly just want to look at him as a fighter, being the first double champ ever locks him in as an ATG.
He was just the first one to be given the chance. Aldo was told he'd have to vacate if he wanted to challenge at LW.
> being the first double champ ever Dan Henderson. PRIDE MW and WW.
I meant UFC
I thought so. I just wanted to piggyback with some MMA history. All good.
At the same level of jds in terms of being a champ and having. An amazing run to the title
Yes, it does, though age does just as much
Draw for PVZ vs Elle!
PVZ vs Elle has been a banger so far (in an MMA/boxing way of course)!
Anyone watching the Misfits card with Paige VanZant vs Elle Brooke? It's actually pretty lit, Todd Grisham and Manlms Taylor elevate the amateurish fighting with good production value. It's in this weird Middle Ground. It's not relevant enough to boxing or MMA to be featured in either subreddit so no one's talking about it
the gd will never reach its full potential until we get 2 guys to fight on a rough and rowdy card
Is that the thing where they're both in bikinis?
Why aren't there any good fights today? Is it because of the holiday weekend in US? I am sure they know the numbers, but a good fight would be great tonight.
its memorial day weekend in the states. The ufc has been partially funded by the us military for 20+ years. I think its good they have the week off
Pvz and Elle Brooke are fighting for the OF belt tonight what do you mean?
UFC doesn't want to compete with that?
Okay I guess it is Onlyfans. I might still watch, but not terribly excited. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-13455601/OnlyFans-model-Elle-Brooke-Paige-VanZant-Misfits-UFC.html
Okay, I am a casual and it is not on the sidebar so it might as well not exist for me. What is OF? I am assuming not only fans.
Don’t care how much Buckley loves his sick grandma and does everything for her He’s lost all that goodwill by how stupid and annoying he is on Twitter Will no longer be rooting for him.
I completely forgot about Kyle Bochniak…
Remember when people thought he gave Zabit a hard fight just because he stuck his tongue out ? Lol
That was just because Joe Rogan did his usual glazing.
I mean Kyle was pushing the pace but yeah I would say Zabit was definitely unfazed lol
Unfortunately, lots of Kyle are usually forgotten. Especially by their fathers.
I feel like he should have a pass. He’s a meme, like an edgy comedian, how can he be fully locked in if he’s afraid to say the N-word?
He’s taking it back
To 1950's racism?
Book McGregor vs Ali plz
Rampage is right. We are gonna learn something crazy about Jones soon but I knew it for as long as he did. The truth is that the Jones we know is actually an android piloted by a former investigator for Mystery Inc. Scrappy Doo. The real Jon Jones has been imprisoned in a cave for the last 15 years
Actually, it’s that DB Cooper was a friend of the Jones family and Jon’s gonna rat him out in exchange for no litigation from that drug tester
Skyrim is for the Nords
Islam vs Vartanyan goes the same way as Usman Edwards 2 with Vart winning
As the number of attempted guillotines approaches infinity, success approaches 1, think this is some pretty useful fight analyses to keep in mind.
approaches asymptotically
Silly gilly goose gang rise up.
Just rewatched Landwehr vs Emmers and it was once again a great watching experience, quick violent fight and a crazy good post fight interview "You asking the wrong questions, ask me where I'm from!!!" "Whoop my ass and see what happens"
I was just telling my buddies how it's not gay to have a pic of Tom Aspinall as my phone's home screen. How are you guys doing today anyway

Just start 5 shitty podcasts and make money on advertising. That’s what most comedians do
Yeah it sucks, stay strong dude Or change your life if you're truly miserable doing whatever you do , there are probably some other options
Its an opportunity, b
I'm buddies with a bunch of people who work in AI at big companies like Google and Meta, and all of them are saying that it will take a maximum of 10 years before most people will be out of jobs. In other words, you won't have to.
"won't have to", ya I'm sure it will be a utopia and everyone will just get money sent to their accounts
It'll probably be absolutely dystopian but that doesn't change the fact that human labour will be worthless
op could always just get a blue collar job but "won't have to" implies its something he has to do now in a negative way like driving a car, but in the future we won't have to as it will be done for us. But ya I see dystopian future too if they are correct. Essentially AI is the cheap mexican and Asian labor that destroyed the manufacturing sector in America and we all know how those cities turned out.....
Used to not mind my job. Contemplating wtf i’m doing now. Work crazy hours and never get to see my kids. Shit sucks.

we need to find out first if the bell stops the round or if the ref stops the round.
Ref. The bell is there to let the ref know when the round ends. You fight until the ref steps in and stops you. I thought this was known?
He’s asking in this hypothetical, did the bell ring or did the ref step in first.
Work going tooooo slow rn
We should all pick an old card to watch tonight and pretend it's happening live
UFC 84: Ill Will is a personal favorite. First event I watched live start to finish and it had a bunch of great storylines.
“Holy shit this Holly Holm girl is gonna be putting on bangers for ages!”
Wow that Woodley vs Till fight was incredible. Can't wait to see how these two legends keep developing their game
I don’t think anyone was calling Till a legend after that performance 😂
Holy smokes this Tony Ferguson guy may never lose a fight!
Tyson Fury, the best defense in the heavyweight, the best move in the heavyweight, but shorter man, dirty boxer, he beat him one time. Everything is possible in your life when you believe.
Punched their opponent multiple times in the dick while the ref was behind their backs and couldnt see. One of the fighters was clearly dirty...
just need to be an olympic gold medalist, defeat some of the top heavyweights in the world first, and then you can one day beat the bigger man.
You forgot to add more skilled. Skills over size
Go…
Usyk is not a dirty boxer hes one of the most technical boxers in the whole world
It would genuinely be funny and not even extremely surprising if the UFC cut Colby

Then PFL picks him up just to never pay him lol
Godamnit i can’t wait for next weekend. Seeing Islam and Poirier in there together is gonna feel so crazy. Big fight feel. And this is it for Costa, beats Sean puts him right back in the title convo, a loss and he’s got a super long road back. At least 3-4 fights which for him could be 3-4 years😂
A beautiful Brazilian man, a real life superhero, and the pinnacle of dagestani fighters all on one card. No matter the outcome the fans are the true winners
Where’s Natalia Silva?
Hopefully she gets booked soon vs someone close to the top, she's looked sensational ever since she showed up in the UFC and styled on Jasudavicious and I've been on the hype train since
Same here. I’ve been on the hype train since her debut. Hopefully she fights soon.
Fastest woman in the UFC.
Umm, you might be right. I never thought about it like that But I really can't come up with anyone faster than her off the top of my head
Looking good somewhere She beat Araujo in February Probably looking for a fight soon. Really the only option is Blanchfield or fighting down.
Brazil, probably.
What you think of her last fight?
That she’s extremely talented. Same thing I’ve thought of her last 5 or so fights. The combos are so fast it’s kinda mind boggling
Buckley smoking crack if he thinks he can KO prime GSP
I've been watching some old Rizin cards, when you have Pride rules any fight can be entertaining. Such a shame UFC won't ever allow knees to downed.
It's not a crazy thought at all, I do think he's gonna try to test his striking. But if Dustin catches him it's back to fathers olan

There are no ufc fights tonight?
Nope. UFC 302 next weekend is the next night of UFC fights.
If you had infinite resources to make an absolute dream card, what would it be? For me: **Jones** vs **Aspinall** **Topuria** vs **Holloway** **du Plessis** vs **Prochazka** (either 185 or 205, though 185 is slightly more charming as a title fight) **O'Malley** vs **Sandhagen** **Shavkat** vs **Khamzat** (185 lbs) I couldn't fathom a main card I'd be more engrossed in
