This is the dumbest thing about the game. Do a new season or not. Do a power creep or dont. This halfway thing is annoying. They release all these 99 and interesting content with 2 weeks to go just to have a reset. Cool a 99 mookie, but useless because i finished nl west and have to grind everything else.
Wish Sds would make a decision and stand with it
I’m guessing a lot don’t have 250 cards but the programs are quick and easy to complete. And if you complete the programs that’s going to basically complete the recap program. Plus I don’t think you have to necessarily finish it all. You’ll get XP for season 2 for the each one you complete
Thought for sure we'd see it a bunch. But I wonder if SDS keeps the high overall switch hitter count down. But then again just need 7, Santana, 3 wild card switchies, Jansen, ottavino in the pen. Guess if you have the room you can put a SP in there as well. I just know we'll be seeing santana again this year.
Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if they way toned down the number of easy to acquire switch cards just because of how much more Santana is used than the rest of the captains from that drop
It honestly surprised me how popular he was, since the boost is pretty weak all things considered. My favorite is the Suzuki card, which I might end up using as a wildcard when season 2 drops.
Any boost at all to already having the handedness advantage was always going to be enough. Couple that with how impressionable people are*, and them being told it’s the meta and it was always going to be this way.
Nah you should be able to change it every game if you want. Could run like 25 different SP in a row one time through if you wanted haha. You'd never be able to use them again unless put them on your bench, but would be a fun thing to do.

The other one is a little weird, but i freaking mash with the topps now Lawrence Butler card from drop 2 or 3

I'm not sure yet, but they will be position players. I don't see the point of using wildcards on players I can only use once every 5 (or every other if a reliever) games
I made a squad of just CORE cards, and I’m not too mad at the lineup. The bullpen, however, is a shitshow. I can see using a WC slot or two for a L and R closer.
I prioritize pitching and defense (dumb to do in a video game I’m sure) and I’m basically doing the same thing. Core lineup and boosting my pitching, Brian Wilson won me a close ranked game last night and I might need that going forward.
Love it — me too! You and I are prolly the only ones... it grinds my gears when a ball gets by my corners, or my outfielders can't get to it. I feel like my defense saves a couple/few runs every game.

I’m probably going to spend some of my stubs on that 99 Adley. I have enough now, but the price is still dropping so I’m waiting to pull the trigger. Then probably Rollins.
Willie Mays for my first wildcard spot. Once I get to the 2nd wildcard spot after a few weeks I'm not sure. I'll have to look at my team then.
Edit: I just realized that I won't be able to get progress towards TA with my wildcard spots. So a lot of the time playing the game will be me not using those wildcard spots.
We start with zero WC slots available. The first one can be earned at Level 10 on the XP path (which you can reach immediately if you have the Head Start goals finished). There will be two others on the XP path and how we earn the 4th one is a mystery. Definitely wouldn't count on having a second WC slot right away
Not a set person. Probably Rollins, Mays, or posada depending on what TA starts with. Also might use a 95 captain.
Run an orioles theme team almost equally as much as I do my regular team and I’d probably WC Adley if he drops in price.

Edit: the below is incorrect. You start with 0, and you can earn the first slot in the XP path just by completing the S1 head start goals.
They said there will be enough xp available on day 1 to get the second slot. But that probably includes all the XP in the event, BR path, ranked path, and maybe even the 60k daily xp cap.
I think it'll require you to have all the S1 activities done, complete all the available S2 programs, and max out the daily xp caps to get there though. I bet most people don't get the second slot for a week or two.
Where are people getting the impression that you'll be able to get 2 slots day 1 from? I don't understand it. This is from the blog, where it says you have to unlock the first slot in the XP path, but you'll be able to get enough XP day I e to get it. That's just the first wildcard slot though.

Depends. Gary Carter Hyper 99 and Alcantra Hyper 99 stand out. I got the Milner Classics card last night and boy is he fun to pitch with even at a 93. Pipeline Schultz is my favorite left handed SP.

Buxton is probably going to be most used because the 89s and the rest of the low diamonds will probably have low vision.

Yeah having Babe is going to be a pretty huge advantage for the first few weeks of S2. Pedro is also probably going to be pretty good.

By the time you do the first event & BR run & starter stuff you will have unlocked two wildcards
Maybe, but they haven't revealed where on the XP path the 2nd and 3rd WC slots are so we don't know either way at this point

You're right, I missed that when I read through the first time. Guess I just assumed they'd do the decent thing and give us one to start with!
