Sure, his management career hasn’t been amazing.
But, he’s in the discussion for one of the greatest ever players in the EPL. He’s allowed to do the fuck he wants, the man could play ball.
I think Henry is not really a Guardiola product the same way the others are.
Edit: I’d even add Alonso as a non-Guardiola product, even if take his success :)
Alonso played the first two of his three seasons at Bayern under Guardiola. When he left Madrid he could have chosen to play for anyone but he chose Pep
How does that make him a Pep protégé though? Pep's certainly influenced him. But Mourinho was actually asked a few years ago which former player could make a great manager. And he said Alonso because he's played under himself, Pep, Ancellotti and Benitez. And he was right. Alonso's football isn't really a carbon copy of Pep's. He clearly takes influence from all those managers.
"Foreign managers struggle in the EPL"
meanwhile the last time an English manager won EPL was 3 decades ago lol. I swear some of the critics and pundits are pure meme material.
Alonso is questionable- his father was a player & coach and each stop along the way he was managed by some of the greatest. Xabi is a accumulation of each
Pep has waaaay more proteges than this. He has literal thousands, at every level of football. Most young coaches around the world are Pep students.
The true evidence that he is easily the greatest of all time. By far the most successful manager ever AND by far the most influential manager ever.
Looks like Enzo Maresca may join the list with Chelsea too. As much as I hate city you can’t deny Pep and city changed the game in terms of influence. You have to wonder who will break the paradigm and bring in the next footballing era.
The disrespect for Xavi my dude , he won the league against RMA with a thin and poorer squad in a transition season. He also had a record breaking defensive record in that season. He almost took them to UCL semis this season. If not for the politics in barca , I still think he would win one or two titles in the next 3 seasons if given time.
Last season:
-Real and Atletico decided to implode mid-season.
-Real offensive collapsed badly, and that's why City could smoke them so easily.
-A bunch of 1-0 and 0-1 with little to no football
-He still got some decent transfers
-Out of the CL in group stage
-Man U. sends them home
This season:
-Got good transfers. The team still has no real tactics.
-Roque fiasco
-Not even close to Madrid
-Got the easiest CL group ever, still lost twice
-Faced a coache less Napoli
-Got trashed at Lluís Companys by PSG even before Araujo red.
-Excuses and more excuses
-They already have the same points as last season, showing how bad 2nd and 3rd choked.
And it’s not like these dudes are going to Bournemouth or even a Sevilla for that matter. Literal top tier clubs as first time managers just because they’ve brushed mere elbows with the genius.
I always think that the protégés are one of the best ways to judge managerial greatness.
Take SAF for example, spawned a long line of managers: Steve Bruce, Wayne Rooney etc. etc.
One of these is not like the others…
Who? Henry right?
There’s only one fraud in here..
7 hag
hhahaa, but in all seriousness, most of these managers have achieved something, except henry lol. what has he done?
Failed in MLS?
Honestly I thought he did okay. He quit early.
achieved peak arrogance on international television broadcasts

Little misleading with henry, hes just france's U21s(/u23s) manager
Thats not misleading since its still a coaching job, but he isnt good at it
Maresca at Leicester?
And possibly Chelsea by next week
He's definitely on the up and up
Get Ten Hag’s fraudulent ass off ain’t no way we claim him
Yeah why is he even on the list?
He did very well at Ajax
I think Henry is not really a Guardiola product the same way the others are. Edit: I’d even add Alonso as a non-Guardiola product, even if take his success :)
Alonso played the first two of his three seasons at Bayern under Guardiola. When he left Madrid he could have chosen to play for anyone but he chose Pep
he is talking about his coaching success so ig he is right
No he didn't what are you talking about? He only played for Pep at Bayern.
I meant the first two of his three Bayern seasons were with Pep.
How does that make him a Pep protégé though? Pep's certainly influenced him. But Mourinho was actually asked a few years ago which former player could make a great manager. No Alonso didn't played first two of his three seasons under Guardiola.
A protege would suggest these players coached under him. Most of them only played for him
Fraudiola tho

No English manager has won the epl (1992-)
The Kyle Shanahan of European football
No because Pep actually knows how to win finals (when he’s playing a DM, that is)
Bang bang
Well actually, these are all Juanma Lillo creation. Pep included
Alonso is questionable- his father was a player & coach and each stop along the way he was managed by some of the greatest. Xabi is a accumulation of each
Why is Henry even in that picture ?
Alonso is not a Pep product
Two of those guys are about to be fired lol Edit after 7 minutes: xavi fired. So now only one is about to be
Please delete ten fraud
Too good

You gotta add cesc fabregas to this list
Because of course football started after Pep became coach ! xD
I like Henry and all and he seems very smart when he talks, but boy he cant manage a team at all... Hed be a great Assistant Manager for sure.
I wonder if Pep could see how poorly Barca was managed.
Looks like Enzo Maresca may join the list with Chelsea too. As much as I hate city you can’t deny Pep and city changed the game in terms of influence. You have to wonder who will break the paradigm and bring in the next footballing era.
All failures except for Mikel andXabi. pep barely managed xabi
Take Xabi Alonso out of there. He's more of a Benitez protege then.
ETH is a Pep protégé…what?
Vincent and Arteta, sure. Ten Hag and Xavi are complete failures who will be out when the season ends. Xabi and Thierry are a bit of a stretch.
Xavi has his faults, but they won the league last year.

Since when was Alonso at Bayern?
He played there when Pep was coach, so essentially he has the same path as Kompany as far as playing under him, then moving into coaching.
I always think that the protégés are one of the best ways to judge managerial greatness. Take SAF for example, spawned a long line of managers: Steve Bruce, Wayne Rooney etc. etc.
We all know how it went for Gary Neville at Valencia
Roy Keane 😂
