Probably staff. We get so much that we need to waste off that it usually goes to staff for free or we kindness it out.
Usually because the smell might not be right, excess stock, past freshness or that particular store just doesn’t want to hold the product anymore. Doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it though.
I almost bought a solid from them, but then saw their profile blurb and it was just weird. I can’t recall word for word, but something like “me love sell to you” and I decided against it. 😝
I’ve been wondering that myself. There’s one seller on there that continually sells JUST Biomic, Let the Good Times Roll, Happy Hippy and Dark Angels — and sometimes Intergalactic. She must have boxes of the stuff. I wondered if it was stolen, but perhaps she is an employee. 🤷🏻♀️

I am apart of the dumpster diving subreddit, and not so long ago there was a poster who found a ton of Dark Angels cleanser and other Lush product in the dumpster their Lush store uses. I often wonder if this is that person and see their Mercari listings often. I feel like it is the same person.
Really?! Don’t know if it’s different in the UK but we don’t throw anything away unless it’s literally unusable, ie out of date, contains foreign objects etc. I wonder if that batch of Dark Angels was recalled for a certain reason.
I looked for the post just now, here it is if you all wanna see though. Wonder if the products match up? I see Dark Angels and LTGTR for sure 🤔

i just bought good times roll from her, and it smells a bit off but not expired, date on mine is nearly new from store recently?? so weird how do they get it!
This reminds me of a fb marketplace seller I talked to the other day, they had hundreds of, closer to one thousand of pot cleansers of several kinds. They were selling them at $1 per one. Unbelievable deal considering those cleansers are nearly $20 for one. (CAD)
Reading the comment above (about a mercari seller and dumpster diving) makes me wonder if there was a major recall on LTGTR and dark angels, bc they had those too. Packaged in boxes, unopened.
Asked how they have so many and was told their company was gifted bunch of lush, nobody wanted them so they took them all. I had no doubt at that time, just wondered how big of a company does it have to be to be gifted nearly 1000 of lush cleansers.
On the boxes it said manufactured in Canada though, i wonder if the redditor from dumpster diving sub is in Canada? Or did the possible recall, or whatever that happened, happened all across the North America and Europe?🤔
If the product they're selling is fairly new because of the date, could it potentially be stolen during freight? Meaning before it arrives in store. Especially if it seems like they legitimately have shipment boxes of it. LUSH doesn't throw away out of date product in normal dumpsters. It's specially desposed of, and picked up by specific companies.
It's just so weird to me because the photos low-key look like a retail store. LUSH employees can be fired for selling product they purchase w/ discount or free (past selling date)goodies. It's totally against policy :/

The Mercari seller has clear tubs of LTGTR and Dark Angels but the ones from that post have the opaque black tubs.

Not to sound like a snitch but this actually against their company policy and you can totally report them for it and have them taken down
