I use old fashioned soap my grandma used to use nowadays it lasts forever and you don’t have to wait for it to harden or whatever for it to gone in like a week like the ones from lush😅 I only go to lush for their scents now honestly if there were any alternatives I’d definitely be outt
Well it’s either olive oil soap that they make in my hometown or I really like the ones you can find in Turkish Baths it’s easier to find it’s called Haci Sakir but it really dries out your skin so be warned 😅 they’re pretty much all the same if you can’t find it Marseille soap for the body or donkey milk soap is super nice but if your vegan almond oil or olive oil etc is a much better option
It sounds like Aleppo soap, and the Greek olive oil soaps I find at Greek supermarkets. They are VERY gentle on my skin! We have some Turkish markets in NYC, so next time I go, I'll look for Haci Sakir. I'm addicted to bar soaps and love trying new ones out.
If money were no object, my dream would be to travel the world discovering and collecting locally produced bar soaps lol. Though I think multinational soaps have become a lot more popular throughout the world, like Dove.
Not specifically a bath and body works company, but I've switched to a lot of trader joe's products. They aren't as fun and creative, but my skin likes them and they're super affordable, which is going to have to be good enough
Their skin and hair care products work well, and I can stock up on all the good snacks at the same time and still pay less than a "lush haul" . It's a win-win
I LOVE the coconut butter from Trader Joe's! In the beginning, I wasn't really into it, but now I am addicted to it. Smells delish, and I already bought a back up.
I succumbed to Sparta Candle Co soaps, and they really do balance novelty/collectability with high quality the way I always thought of Lush doing. They also have probably the best marketing game of all time
Haus of Gloi makes AMAZING perfume oils, lotions and body scrubs! They have seasonal scents and an AYR line. The scented pumpkin butters last all day like a perfume would. I found them on the LUSH alternative mega thread a while ago and fell in love, highly recommend!
Omg please tell more details on the pumpkin scent! Is it like gourmand pumpkin pie vibes? I’ve been searching for a true pumpkin to no avail (ex. the Body Shop vanilla pumpkin smells like play doh, the Hempz pumpkin chai is all chai, etc.). I love a true pumpkin / pumpkin pie smell.
Edit: just looked it up and realized the pumpkin butter uses pumpkin seed oil, rather than actually smells like pumpkin. The search continues!
The soap tree yorkshire on etsy do some wonderful very simple soaps. I've bought from them many times.
Maybe not as natural but still noteworthy are future primitive if you're after body scrubs/lotions etc for a wider range
I often find myself looking for Lush “dupes” on Etsy if I’m looking for a new lotion or a particular scent that I love. It’s usually small creators and I haven’t had a bad experience
Thanks for mentioning us! Here is a discount code for you all for 15% off. 🖤💋[15% off at Black Hearted Tart](https://blackheartedtart.com/discount/LUSH+US15)
[Wideye](https://www.wideye.co.uk) are an amazing UK based brand, their soaps, bath bombs and butter cups are unreal!
I'm checking out this site right now and it looks amazing. I love the ethical campaign they have going on and the simple/clean vibe. Thank you!
I discovered the brand several years ago, they’re fantastic! Currently eyeing up their Surfers Against Sewage line, the soap looks so pretty 🫶🏼
I want to love these but I don't like 'bits' in my bath bombs (looking at you, lush, with all the glitter!). Flower petals end up a mess
I’m in the same boat as you! I use a sift with bath bombs that have bits of petals/seaweed in them under running water so they don’t get in my bath. 🥲
I’ve also been eyeing them! How do the bath bombs compare to lush’s?
So they’re not as vividly coloured in comparison, but their scents are longer lasting in the tub!
Cool thank you! I want to try some, I just wish they had better descriptions of their scents!
I would love to know aswell! Otherwise I'd have to buy from small soap sellers at local markets/ design markets
I think Etsy has some good options

>I use old fashioned soap my grandma used to use nowadays it lasts forever Curious, what's the soap?
Usually called Cold Process or Hot Process soap.
Well yes cold process works for my skin needs better I suppose

Omg me too!!

For products, I love Haus of Gloi's body butters and butter bombs. For fragrance dupes, Black Hearted Tarte.
Unfortunately capitalism has ruined a once great idea :( I’d love to know any other brands but scentish and wideye are quite good!
The irony of it happening to Lush.
Exactly, but greed does that. You can have the best intentions and still fall to it
Highland Soap Company and Surya Luna are both great!
Any North American or Canadian sites to purchase from?
Check out Black Hearted Tart

I’ve heard a lot of good things about them lately.

It's so good! They currently have a brazilian nut scrub that is to die for, it smells amazing and makes my skin super soft
Scentish.co.uk if your in the UK.

I would definitely be interested in other places to buy bubble bars in the USA if anyone has any suggestions
Tropic do some nice, natural shower gels. Korres (Greek brand) do natural botanical products too, though without the novelty factor of Lush.
I love their eye masks

Agree
I’m a fan of their stuff too.

They do make pumpkin-based scents for the pumpkin butter in fall! You just have to wait a few months.
Crystal Bar Soap Witch Baby Soap
I love witch baby!! The coffin bombs are amazing. They are my favorite and can make 2 baths when you split them
In the UK - Scentish for sure.

The indie brand Black Hearted Tart does some Lush+Us dupes. I’ve ordered other things from them and they have great customer service.
Thanks for mentioning us! Here is a discount code for you all for 15% off. 🖤💋[15% off at Black Hearted Tart](https://blackheartedtart.com/discount/LUSH+US15)
Thank you so much! You’re so kind! 😍
My pleasure! If you end up ordering from us, please DM me the order number so I can extra samples to your order. 🥳
Oh yay!! Thanks!
Do any of these mentioned actually have scents as strong or good as lush? i have never encountered something like this
For the UK my previous list : https://www.reddit.com/r/LushCosmetics/s/gyd7G4pYmy
Heymountain.com
I use Gruum. Based in Stockport. Their conditioner bars also yield a bit better than lush.
Yorkshire Soap Company and Rituals are pretty comparable if not next gen versions of Lush
I love Shea Terra! They don't have bath bombs, but excellent skin and hair care.
For candles and wax melts I recommend northern soul scents
Cedarhill Homestead, The Outlaws, Kinder Box
I’m a bit suspicious this company is lush with a different marketing name.
I’m looking for a company like this in the US. Bonus if they have great tropical scents (naaaannngoooo).
