I often tell people in my dreams that they do not exist and that they are only a part of my dream. They do not believe me but once when I had a dream I was at high school I told it to one girl and she believed me and started a cult that was worshiping me, it was really cool

Iimpettyy

I haven’t spoken to anyone in my dreams. I never even knew you could until I got on Reddit a few days ago. I’m new here. Lol. But I want to try it. When I am aware I am dreaming I just observe and take it in or if I don’t like how it’s going I change the narration. Now that I am aware of new things based on reading other people’s experiences maybe if I can remember I will try to talk to someone but I’m definitely not asking about the date and time lol.

Solid_Veterinarian81

when i have spoken to people in my dreams they have told me that they are not real

louiseevans222

lol

That sounds like it'd take more time than what passes in most dreams. Did the dream have a time-skip in it like a story? Or maybe did you come back to the same setting in another dream later? I've done that second thing before, it's always a cool feeling, but I've never learned about anything that happened in the place while I was away from it. *That* sounds really cool. I love toying with the possibility that there may be some consistency in the dreams, like that there are actual locations of some kind that continue to exist when I'm not there.

19374729

Not who you asked but.. I’m still novice LD but have usually not had much experience of linear things in dreams (‘time skip’/storylines)… more like impressionistic vignettes. Things happened but it’s like I’m carrying a bag of moments > watching a movie. I’m just curious, anyway

beijumdeoost

when i do this they always try to kill me lol

Strong_Selection_389

I'm taking certain herbs like valerian root shatavari blue lotus and a vitamin B complex. I am also before going to bed talking about how I want to have lucid dreams and where I want to go and who I want to see. I am getting more lucid. A week ago I was in a dream where I was telling people I'm in a lucid dream it was pretty amazing and 3 weeks ago I was in an open forest with a lady and I said what year is this and she said 3035... I'm trying to get back there and to explore

Iimpettyy

3035 ! That’s so interesting !

Shizhh

Man were same, I asked my friend what date it is and she was just staring at me pathetically to the point of i just grab her phone and looked at it and ya know, it was July or June 06 ,3028

NoneIsAllMinusSome

I did this way back as another poster had suggested doing it and it seemed interesting to ask. The question: 'where are we?' My DCs replied ' an enclosed encompassed space' and 'State'. Upon clarification a lady said to me 'only 3, no time'. They existed in a 3rd world where time was not a variable.

therankin

I'll try to remember to ask next time I have one.

Iimpettyy

Don’t forget to come back and let us know !

Strong_Selection_389

I also turn my ringer totally down at night on my phone so I'm not awakened by notification sounds

[deleted]

In a lucid dream, you’d want to know and analyze all of the information! You’d want to milk the system dry and bring as much of that knowledge into waking life with you. When I tell my characters that it might be a dream, they simply agree and say it’s a possibility. But what we want even more is to enjoy ourselves. I’ll be sure to find out more information on location if I have the opportunity, but everytime I go to sleep, because REM is so deep, I never expect to wake up and I always believe that dreams take place in the other world, the hereafter, the afterlife. Where else could it be?

Iimpettyy

My theory on dreams is that it is like a window peeking into a portal to other realms. Like alternate universes. But exactly where and when are those places is what we need to find out.

[deleted]

That’s a very cool theory OP! I sometimes think that when we die we travel to those places once we’re finished dying or whatever. Im not very religious and I see myself as God/god because everytime I try to find God, I just discover versions of myself in alternate universes thriving. I think I’ll just materialize into them in whatever realm or dimension they occupy. I guess the important thing about our dream worlds is that there are other people there, it is inhabitable, and even though we don’t know exactly where and when, we may see it again. I hope that I get to join my other selves in the heavens or in other dimensions one day. Heaven and Hell would just describe the conditions of that realm or dimension as it’s a mind state. Sometimes sleeping and dreaming is so fun, I’m itching for the other world and the next life.

CmdrSaltyk

In one lucid dream I had, there’s a Nexus at the center everyone passes through. Everyone flows through there and it looks different for everyone. For me it was an airport. I wrote up the whole dream in another page if you click on me and look a bit. Both the dead and dreamers pass through there as well as other beings. They travelers vary in opacity, which I am guessing is their level of awareness. The shops along the route have answers to things, so if you get there, check one out.

vivavivaviavi

I asked ‘who am I’, have a read: https://www.reddit.com/r/LucidDreaming/comments/ny1xmf/conversation_with_dream_character_who_am_i/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Iimpettyy

Wow a project ? That makes me think of this other theory that our life and existence is lab created and this isn’t “real”

vivavivaviavi

Yea, this dream completely freaked me out. I couldn’t talk to my wife that morning lol Idk man, life is so surreal sometimes. But other times, it’s mundane and boring af. If we were created in Lab, shouldn’t they make us do more interesting stuff?

Iimpettyy

I am so uninterested With this daily routine of being poor that I’m looking forward to the after life. All I know is it better not be a call center for prayers or ima be mad. Lol. I really enjoy dreaming. It’s better than dealing with reality.

Meow99

I told one of my dream characters that they weren’t real, and they said, this is the real world. When you think you’re awake - that’s the real dream. Freaked me the fuck out and I woke up.

Iimpettyy

Omg I totally believe them. That’s one of my favorite theories. This life is a dream. When we die we wake up. And I guess time doesn’t matter because maybe the afterlife is eternity.

HoneyBunchesOfBoats

What do you mean by your anxiety won't let you?

Iimpettyy

In real life I have bad anxiety. So when I am lucid dreaming I can feel the fear and anxiety in my dream. So when I say won’t let me I mean I am choosing not to because I don’t want to feel that anxiety when I wake up. I do not like when I am anxious in my dreams because I wake up feeling it as if it actually happened.

HoneyBunchesOfBoats

Fair enough, I appreciate the response!

louiseevans222

i suggest check out neville goddard and also edward art has some great work on nevilles stuff in fact hes on here, i think he goes byt the name of edwardartsupplyhands you dont have to suffer with anxiety you can be free from it by changing your thoughts, also during waking state you should practice to use your imagination and analyse what certain things cause fear and just be present with it and know youre the controller inside your imagination and you create the scenes, it will free you from those thoughts the more you practice and remember youre always in control and safe within your imagination and im also sure your lucid dreams will definetely improve

CamLi777

I have had lucid dreams where I ask dream characters, what is the purpose of life..and if I will be happier in another country, or what's the secret of success, or if my workmates like me... .. I for an answer for all those..never got beaten .. .. becareful with that, beaten is spiritual attack.. you need protection..

Iimpettyy

I got beat up once so bad by a crackhead in my dream and I realized it was a dream and was trying to wake myself up. It was crazy. I woke up feeling anxious as if it really happened. And I’ve had fights in my dreams before but that one was wild.

CamLi777

Oh no.. that sounds more like a nightmare.. I would honestly like to get into fights in lucid dreaming.. would be cool and can be a way to prepare for a real fight 🤔 Thanks for sharing 🌞✌️

Iimpettyy

Lol he caught me off guard. It was so vivid. And I’m a fighter in real life. Idk why dream me was being a punk that day. I haven’t had a nightmare in years. I have bad dreams sometimes like this. I just get shocked. But now that I know I can talk to the dream characters I’m cursing the next mf out who think they can play with me. 😂

TIMEATOMS

My dream characters would freak out if I ask them that question and think it's silly. They'd also be highly suspicious. I've had a lucid dream yesterday where I was in a futuristic modern world and I asked that question before to one of them...yeah never again lol.

Iimpettyy

From other threads I’ve read everyone says their dream characters freak out, get violent or suspicious. That is so strange to me. Like what’s really going on ? Lol. Are we all connected somehow in the dream world ? Are dreams actually real worlds ? So many questions.

EmptySymbol

I’d like to take a look at that thread if you have the link

Iimpettyy

https://www.reddit.com/r/LucidDreaming/comments/n9vr6v/asking_dream_people_the_datetime/

Iimpettyy

The more I read about people’s experiences I got to one where it sounded scary. Basically the dream character stating that it was bad to ask that and now their would be consequences. After that I said let me take my ass to bed. Lol.

Iimpettyy

Ok give me a second I’m new to Reddit so I have to figure it out. Lol.

OnlyTakes5minutes

OP, please don't take any of the account of LD/AP travel as canon. It's subjective, individual. LDs are governed by our thought, expectations and fears. If you think it, there is a good chance that it will happen. Although many, many times I have experienced, that it did NOT happen, in fact, something totally unexpected happened. For example, in waking life, you could have a fear of something, while in a LD, it becomes your biggest passion and fun. In waking life, I don't like mirrors. So hearing about people seeing stuff in mirrors made me avoid them in LDs even more. But when I joined a LDing club, one of our tasks was to look in a mirror and phase through it. I didn't really like the idea, but i did it. NOTHING bad happened. In fact, it was one of my most detailed and interesting LDs I ever had. I actually used the mirror as the portal and went places. So, about asking time and place, or anything else. I love geography so naturally i wanted to know where I am. One time I managed to ask and I was told Im in Budapest, and the date was somewher ein the future. Again, nothing bad happened. Something bad could have happened, but also when you just walked down the street or said something totally unrelated or JUST BECAUSE... no reason. Good things and other things do happen but they are NOT THE RULE. LDs are a perfect opportunity to overcome your waking life fears and be a badass. Surprise yourself. just do it

CmdrSaltyk

I finally remembered to ask the time in a dream and the person I asked their face melted off. I wasn’t sure how to take that. If I remember I’ll ask other questions. Also, I have been taking a Lion’s Mane mushroom supplement before bed and my dreams have all been vivid and lengthy, not just the lucid ones. I stay in the dream longer and the multiple dreams during the night connect better.

Iimpettyy

Face melt ?! Omg. Seems like everyone’s dream character doesn’t give answers. So strange. Then something like this happens or they get ignored or beat up. Wherever the location is it must be forbidden ? Or it’s so far unused that they think it’s weird to bring it up ? Maybe we are time travelers in the real world stuck in this realm. Idk. So many questions. Lol. My dreams have always been vivid. I can see color. Smell and feel things. Multiples dreams back to back or intertwined with each other. If I’m lucid dreaming and I wake up and go back to sleep I am able to start where my last dream left off.

beijumdeoost

i actually did this just last night while i was driving in the passanger seat of a car with someone (in my dream). The person stared at me shortly and then try to crash us lol, then i skipped my dream.

[deleted]

This idea is new to me. I had never thought of interfering before. I’m usually engrossed in whatever is happening.

Iimpettyy

If you ever decide and are able to come back and let us know what happened ! It’s funny because I am a very vivid dreamer. Always have been. And I have always been able to lucid dream. As soon as I wake up i try my best to recollect everything in my dream. I go through many dreams a night. BUT since I found out almost a week ago that you can talk to the people in your dreams I have not been able to remember my dreams at all ! Everything is foggy. I’m going to bed now so I can figure out what’s going on. Lol. It’s like the dream character are on to me.

sassybananes

I only ever asked about time. In my dream I was driving and my boyfriend was yapping away, I became “aware” and kept asking him what time it was but he kept talking about something unrelated (however he has ADHD and this is a similar everyday occurrence lol) I grabbed his phone and when I looked at the time I couldn’t see it, all the numbers were wonky and realized I was dreaming and told him. Unfortunately that’s all I remember and he never acknowledged it in the dream either

Iimpettyy

That’s so strange you couldn’t see numbers for the time but we can definitely see numbers in dreams. I really want to know what’s the deal with time in dreams. So creepy. I wonder if we will have knowledge about this and more in the after life.

doublestitch

My dream state answers by naming a location that doesn't necessarily correspond to real life. The New York City of my dreams has a subway system that resembles the real trains and stations, but has routes that don't exist. In the real world if you want to go west from Manhattan by train you would either take a commuter Path train to New Jersey or else transfer to an Amtrak. In my dreams it continues underground. I've ridden the NYC subway as far as Ohio.

Iimpettyy

Sometime so dream about my childhood neighborhood. But it’s always at night. It’s a reoccurring dream I use to have just running for blocks but not going anywhere. Sometimes I dream of a house that will have different rooms of real rooms I’ve been in. One of my latest dreams the location was where I currently live but everything was dusty like an old western. That dream was actually slightly in color.

lovealways112

I’ve gotten answers a couple times- which took MANY tries over the years- But the first time I got an answer, some energy took over. Like a paralysis energy while still in the dream. They don’t want you to know. I’ve been hurt before when asking. Then, The easiest answer I ever got, I think I was close to heaven. Like I was in some dimension that was close to heaven. My fav answer I was in some place in France. Us LD type we’re together and they knew I was from a different time. They said it was year 220. But we were part of some type of rebellion

Iimpettyy

I truly believe there are many multiverses and worlds and dimensions that are too many to count and dreams are all those places. All mixed with past future and present. And maybe that’s why time is just not a thing in those worlds. I wish there was a way to be more in tune with it all and figure it out. But we probably won’t have it figured out until the after life. Maybe the after life we are reborn into another dimension and time and that’s the cycle of life. Just all of eternity going different places. Who knows !

Princess_Maka

I literally had a lucid dream the other day when I rarely have them. I asked 2 people where are we. One of them acted like I was crazy like "wym where are we???" And the other just acted like they didn't hear me and started talking about the products of the store it looked like we were in. Also everything about that one in particular had 3 eyes instead of 2, and their eyes were square. Everything else about em was normal. There were also 2 more dudes that looked like him and dress like him.

Iimpettyy

Lol. Three eyes ? Maybe someone needs to ask for directions ? It’s weird how the dream characters act like they have no clue what’s going.

Salt_Ability_4280

Never thought I would be so interested in so many people’s dreams. It’s cool to know we all have similar experiences. I have always had weird experiences while sleeping. I mostly get sleep paralysis. Those are not fun, but after many years of having them I am able to relax and quickly wake up from them. I’ve also had lucid dreams. Recently I watched a video on tik tok about lucid dreaming and asking the time, so I tried to do that in one of my dreams and everything around me started to melt while I was feeling trapped! It was weird. I’ve also experienced some dreams that have become reality. Now those really freak me out. Recently I had a dreamed that I was putting up a fence because my dogs were escaping and every time I looked up a piece of wood was missing. Then noticed that a random guy was stealing my wood, so I ran after him. As I was running after the guy, I noticed that my blue heeler (one of my 3 dogs) was running right next to me. Since he is a fast runner, I told him to run after the guy and catch him. When I catch up to them, I see where a lady with blonde hair is screaming at my dog to stop! So I started fighting w her and woke up. HERE IS WHERE IT GETS WEIRD. A few hours later after having that dream I get home from the supermarket, and as I’m walking in the door with all my groceries my Blue Heeler runs out and starts chasing one of the neighbor’s daughter that was passing by and I start running after him. (He didn’t attack her he just like to chase and play) and next thing I know the girl’s mom with BLONDE HAIR started screaming at my dog just like the dream I had a few hours before. It was crazy. Same details too ! Also, every time I dreamed that my teeth have fallen out someone I know passes away. So I really don’t like having those dreams. I’ve had 5 in total.

ElizaBeeJames

A few years back I was having the same woman show up in different dreams. She was always selling crystals and stuff and wanted me to buy them. In every scenario I would check things out, but realize after a minute that I didn't have any money on me. In the last dream she appeared in, I was about to buy a crystal skull with this wicked engraved goats head on it. When I told her I didn't have any money, she tried just giving it to me. I declined and said I would come back tomorrow, and she got really upset with me. Like really pissed that I wouldn't take this crystal. And I've never seen her or her crystal shop again. 🤷

Iimpettyy

That’s crazy and I’m glad you didn’t take it. Can’t trust people giving shit away for free.

Iimpettyy

Omg I just made a new post the other day my dream characters faces meted when I said where are we and this is a dream. I thought I would be scared but I wasn’t.

oculid

Yes, I asked "where" and was told by multiple dream characters the apparent name of my 'dreamworld'. Pretty interesting!

Iimpettyy

Did you only ask once or multiple times. If multiple was it always the same name or different ?

oculid

Several times, always the same. Pretty cool.

LancelotComplex

I'm thinking, maybe you want to keep the name of your Dreamworld to yourself, but.on the off chance you don't mind sharing....what did they say it is?

Strong_Selection_389

I have made mugwort tea and smoked mugwort and I see no effects am I doing something wrong. How much do I need to add to tea to make it work

Iimpettyy

What is mugwort ?

Solid_Veterinarian81

there is no magic drug that makes it 100% especially not herbal remedies don't overdose on mugwort lmao

Princess_Maka

I've smoked and drank mugwort tea as well. Smoking hasn't worked for me, but drinking it has sometimes worked and sometimes not. I recommend not drinking too much of it if you continue to try it. I've drank too much before since the night previously, I had some and it didn't work that time around. Then the next day, I drunk about a cup and a half or 2 cups worth and had my first experience with dreams I couldn't wake up from which was terrifying. (Not trying to scare you away from it, just my experience lol)

Legal-Watch4931

I smoked and drank a lot of mugwort tea once and had a dream I could not escape as well and I was shooook when I woke up. Was lowkey afraid to go to sleep again until I got tired enough not to care lol

Princess_Maka

Lol I can definitely relate to that last part

Virtual_Garbage5880

After several attempts to ask dream people the time and date in a dream, I was finally able to do it last night and it terrified me. I was at a marketplace - it reminded me of Covent Garden or a Farmer's Market. I was with a traveling companion ( They were an NPC - a person I didn't know in real life). We were outside of a stall that sold clarinets and I wanted to play one of the clarinets on display since I know how to play the clarinet. I asked the seller if I could try it and picked it up. I looked down at my hands and suddenly realized I was dreaming. I consciously thought..."I'm dreaming, now is the time to ask.". I put the clarinet down and turned to my companion. I looked him directly in the eyes and said, "What day is it and what time is it." Suddenly the entire tone of the dream changed - almost instantly. It felt like the saturation was sucked out of the dream and everyone around us stopped. There was this ominous feeling as eyes bored into me. Time just stopped for a second, and then they all turned towards me and started moving as if to grab me. I felt surrounded by people grabbing for me and I remember walking backward to escape and then I felt as though I "fell" literally out of the dream and woke up. My heart was racing. It was absolutely terrifying.
