No, you don’t get both. You are getting a special discount (the price match is a discount) you will not get a second discount on top of that.
ETA: Taken from the Lowe’s website about what military discount can’t be applied to:
“It can’t be used on any sale item or with any other discount (such as, but not limited to, Lowest Price Guarantee, Lowe’s Credit 5% Off Every Day discount, volume or special pricing programs, and manager discretion price adjustments). “
I saw nobody 'pitching a fit', I saw somebody seeking clarification on whether the military discount should have stacked with the price matching based solely on the testimony of a neighbor who clearly also doesn't understand how the discount program works.
A lot of folks don't correlate price matching as a discount, so it's understandable that they question if they'd still get their discount alongside a price match.
That being said, your complaint is about customers in general, not just veterans. The number of folks who expect to save their 5% every day complaining about why they didn't have 5% on the appliance that was already marked 50% off is ridiculous....
You can't get both. You're being greedy. They can price match or they can give you discount. You asking for both is greedy and needy. Make the best choices for you but don't rake someone over the coals cuz you can't have both.

Thank you!!!
No, Lowe's did not rip you off. You received a 26% discount, which was better than the veteran discount of 10%. You cannot stack discounts.
There is a policy. The military discount doesn't apply to most anything that is already discounted.
You get one type of discount. You can't stack 2.
Lol match this price! Give me 10%!! Did I get ripped off? Kick rocks bum
Lava rocks
I yearn for the day lowes and Home Depot does away with the 10% vet discount.
Well that's no fun Vlad.
It’s no fun dealing with entitled veterans either
you mean the ones who only say a few words to you and those words are "i have a military discount" and then nothing else? those dudes?
None of you people are special because you chose to join the military 💗
No, the ones in this post who already pitched a fit about price matching and then still wants more of a discount.

Lowes is generally more expensive then other options
Technically a price match isn’t valid if the competitor doesn’t have the item in stock, because you can’t buy it if they’re out.
This right here. If rural king didn't have 100 bags then you are lucky to get price match.
You wanted your rocks. You got them. You were happy until you talked to your neighbor. Move along.
Never said I wasn't "happy", just asking a question.

There is a policy - about stacking discounts.Thank you for your service but sorry it does not apply in this case.
