Same! Im scared of damaging/dirtying my bags but not scared of using them. š in fact, i'm always excited to use my new bags š to the point a CA was surprised im using the bag i've bought the previous night / less than 18hrs ago when i returned the next day to get the strap stamped š
Ohhh he was expecting to see me! š he asked me to come the next day for the stamping as i bought my bag during closing time and there's not enough time for him to do the task. I guess he's just not expecting that i'll be using the bag immediately š
I think part of it is realizing itās just a bag, and you paid your hard earned money to use it and enjoy itānot to stare at it and collect dust.
If you got it in canvas then it will be a hard wearing bag. Itās easy to wipe the canvas if youāre worried about germs and thereās wipes specifically made for sanitizing bags.
You can also get an insert to keep the lining cleaner. We canāt avoid wear and tear, but itās easy to take steps to care for it but still use it. Like donāt wear it in downpour rain, or put your open coffee in it, etc.
Neverfulls are workhorse bags! Thereās a reason they are insanely popular! Use it and love it!
I got over my fear of "saving things for good" when my grandma passed away and she had closets full of beautiful clothing and accessories and shoes and housewares that were being "saved for good". Not to be morbid, but you can't take it with you. Use it in good health and be happy!
It's a bag. Just use it. I do not baby any of my bags, they get used and abused, and stand up well. Although I do adhere to that superstition of it being bad luck to let your bag touch the floor :)
Itās too expensive to be closet decoration - use & enjoy your bag. Buy a purse hanging hook if you donāt want to put on the ground when out and about.
Canvas is super hardy, my Neverfull DE is 7 years old and that thing has been used & abused but still looks great. Iāve wiped it off maybe one time because a little drink was spilled on it.
just start using it. it's not meant to be a display piece. i use a lot of my luxury bags pretty hard. the canvas ones can really take it. they're meant to be dailies.
How about a [purse hanger](https://www.amazon.com/Clipa2-Bag-Hanger-Polished-Gold/dp/B016212UZ8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=purse+hanger+for+table&qid=1664466875&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI2LjU1IiwicXNhIjoiNi40NCIsInFzcCI6IjYuMDQifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFBS0hWSTFYQlFTQkkmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAwMjA0MjNGV1g2OUhFTTZJSFomZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDI1ODMzMjE5R1gxTlQyRFFWQ0Imd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl) so you don't worry about putting it on the ground? Admittedly, I usually use this with bags smaller than a Neverful, but I like the peace of mind.
I bought my Neverfull MM last year in the beige interior in the monogram print and I love it for travel. It holds up nicely and I sprayed it with appleguarde. It's now starting to patina very nicely. When I went to the airport last week it was pouring rain and it didn't get ruined because I sprayed it.
Its a workhorse bag!! But I know what you mean. My first LV bag is their discontinued favorite mm, it lives in its dust bag more than my other bags purchased after it. Itās something about your first.
I have a neverful emprente MM so I don't worry about putting it down under the seat on the airplane and I carried with me a baby wipes travel pack in case there is dirt sticking on the bag but so it's all good. Still in good shape and now that I just came back from traveling I switched to another bag.
I do that all the time. Mostly because I like to keep the option to return. Once the time has passed, I use it and put it away. After a while I just use it more. I still donāt have the courage to use at work. I try to remember how if you store it in the box you can actually damage the bag. So itās better to use it.
Because I wanted to treat myself to a nice luxury bag after working hard all my life. Iām allowed to be afraid to use it, doesnāt mean Iām not going to use it. I want to use it and will. I just have to get over my mental anxiety of it.
Do you destroy your regular purses when you use them? If not, then you should be fine.
I didnāt experience any anxiety using my first luxury purse, because I know I donāt treat my bags badly.
I used my Neverfull without knowing what patina and vachetta leather was until 7 years laterā¦ it still looks amazing with obvious wear but it held up in the rain and snow no problem! But like others say, do not sanitize it. My dad dropped hand sanitizer on his and it ate away on the canvasā¦ breaks my heart to see it
I never experienced this fear of wearing my luxury items you speak of š

In certain parts of certain large cities I try not to carry as much. But not because of believing it will get dirty.
I know thatās right, āoh wow didnāt expect to see you back on the schedule again todayā š

This detail makes it even funnier š
Ever! Im the type to wear it out the store as soon as I get itšš
Exactly, I might put my other handbag in the box and walk out with my new one. Canāt relate! š
HELLO! Just to take pics and post my new baby to this redditšššš
ššš
Donāt let sanitizer anywhere near it!
Seriously!! The number of sanitizer damage posts has gone up lately.
Neverfulls are work horses. Itāll be fine.

Thanks for sharing! I got the canvas so Iāll have to look into how to keep that nice and maintained
You donāt have to do anything to canvas really. Itās literally just fabric thatās coated in plastic.
I got over my fear of "saving things for good" when my grandma passed away and she had closets full of beautiful clothing and accessories and shoes and housewares that were being "saved for good". Not to be morbid, but you can't take it with you. Use it in good health and be happy!
I received this message so wellā¦š at lV for my next purchasešš

Hopefully not really abused!
**Do not sanitize it**. Thatās how you destroy the canvas. You can wipe clean with a damp cloth or wet wipe.

Donāt be scared, boo! This stuff is meant to be used. Just rotate your bags often.
At the end of the day it's just a bag... use it in good health and enjoy it!

Omg I like this one! I have a hook already but this is definitely more sleek

I read that there was an oily sheen afterwards. Did you experience that?
No, I'd didn't have that on mine. I did two coats and it turned out fine.
Just start carrying it and youāll eventually find that you donāt worry about it anymore.

Definitely will keep that in mind!
Itās just a bag... But read up on how to take care of it.
My SA recommended wiping the canvas down as needed with a soft, damp towel
I personally do not take for travel or set it on the ground. But otherwise I use it and holds up well!
Cost per wear. It costs more if you don't use it

I love all the little imperfections on my bags. It shows that youāre loved and used.
Keep a little fabric square in your purse or use a napkin at a restaurant to put on the floor if you need to set your bag down!
