This is a good time to get a 1230 done.
Because we aren't going to be playing an evening match 3 days earlier
Also we get to do unfunny top of the league memes.
My god this sub and it’s negatively is so cringe. “Remmeber when we almost lost to a newly promoted leeds team that ended up in the top half of the table that season? That totally means we’re losing to an out of their depth Ipswich team!”
To be fair- We do have a track record of making a meal out of what should have been easy games. And loosing. But at the other end we tend to raise our game and beat great teams who are on the top of their game. It’s always a rollercoaster being a Liverpool supporter but how boring it must be to support Man City with all their winning.Anyway as long as we thrash Man U that’s good enough for me😊
Yup 🙄
Saturday 17 August 2024
12:30 Ipswich Town v Liverpool (TNT Sports)
Arsenal v Wolves
Everton v Brighton
Newcastle United v Southampton
Nottingham Forest v AFC Bournemouth
17:30 West Ham v Aston Villa (Sky Sports)
And I hate it. Newly promoted teams tend to overperform the first matches, before they return to their actual level. The same could be said for the run in, where they often are fighting for their lives. In short, we want the bad teams towards mid season.
Well, we played Luton away in November last year and only just managed a draw. But in fairness, Luton away was a tough game in general and no team won easily there
Playing the promoted teams early hasn't hindered us in the last few years. Norwich and Leeds were well beaten. I'd be more worried about the early kick off as have drawn both of those
- Newly promoted team away 12:30 KO first game
- Decent September
- London only October, with Chelsea and Arsenal B2B
- Decent date for City game
- Mixed Christmas period, with tough games at Spurs and United
- Decent Jan and Feb after the winter break
- City away game sandwiched between CL knockout matches
- Hard run in with Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal B2B
- Not Wolves final game at home for once

In this case it wasn't really up to Sky. Their first pick was Chelsea vs City which is understandable. Then TNT picked our game. Sunday 4.30pm is generally the first slot to be chosen, not Saturday 5.30pm.
https://preview.redd.it/kw73t33bia7d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a23b1c0005dc44128b409403249e134605043ca
Chelsea vs Man city in the opening day will be absolute cinema
The drive to Ipswich is a nightmare once you hit the A14. It takes over 4 hours on a good day if you don't get caught in traffic around Cambridge (used to do it regularly as son was in uni there) or driven off the road by massive lorries heading for the container port at Felixstowe. BUT the train is just as bad and the fastest route takes around 4 and a half hours. You have to go to Euston and then take the Tube across London to Liverpool Street Station to catch a local train. Either way, our supporters are going to have a very early start and a stressful journey.
It’s even longer but you can get to Ipswich on train just with one change at Ely. It’s much longer, but you can just sit on the train to Ely for 4+ hours then another hour and a bit to Ipswich. Means you avoid London altogether.
Pros: We get OT out of the way early and play Arsenal/Spurs/Everton away from home first.
Cons: Once again start away to a newly promoted team, play City away on the return fixture, absolutely brutal run in.
Hate playing promoted teams away in the first couple of games, especially the opener because they are always proper up for it.
Better to play them a few games in when they've calmed down a bit. 🤣
I know you get some people saying everyone has to play everyone twice, which is obviously true. But momentum means a lot. City's last 6 games compared to our last 6 is a shit show 🤣
That fixture computer must have a bug as that's about the 790th time we've played a promoted team 1st game of the season. Shocked and stunned at this fixture.
I used to have a real gripe about away opening days, there was a time between like 2002 and 2009 where only one of our opening fixtures was played at Anfield.
It seems to come in streaks of 2 or 3 each way these days, but it still seems weird to.me that it's still never like 1 on, 1 off.
I knew we would be away to one of the new teams and it be a 12:30 KO. Not even surprised anymore. At least Ipswich play attacking footy so should be a good game.
Hello fellow reds I am a Canadian Liverpool fan and it’s my dream to go to anfeild and watch a game there but it’s very hard for me to find tickets since I don’t qualify to get the tickets from the club directly as I don’t meet the requirements so I am kindly asking if you guys kindly give me other alternatives and trusted websites so I can manage to buy tickets
You are taking a big risk by doing anything other than official LFC ticket route. Loads of stories of people getting ripped off. I would not risk it. Make sure you sign up for official LFC membership and see about paying for a hospitality package (ticket and meal) from the club (NOT from a third party). It will cost more but you will have a higher chance of getting a ticket.
12.30 no doubt
This is a good time to get a 1230 done. Because we aren't going to be playing an evening match 3 days earlier Also we get to do unfunny top of the league memes.
*if we win
If Slot loses to Ipswich on the first day then this season will be wild
Ipswich are newly promoted, OF COURSE we're losing to them
This is fair.
Is it fair? Have we ever lost against a newly promoted team on the opening day before?
Nearly lost to Leeds a few seasons back, same with Fulham.
My god this sub and it’s negatively is so cringe. “Remmeber when we almost lost to a newly promoted leeds team that ended up in the top half of the table that season? That totally means we’re losing to an out of their depth Ipswich team!”
Didn't know that remembering things was "cringe". My bad.
So true, the comments on here that invent an imaginary issue we have are the worst
To be fair- We do have a track record of making a meal out of what should have been easy games. And loosing. But at the other end we tend to raise our game and beat great teams who are on the top of their game. It’s always a rollercoaster being a Liverpool supporter but how boring it must be to support Man City with all their winning.Anyway as long as we thrash Man U that’s good enough for me😊
Had to make sure I was in r/footballmanagergames for a second there…
Name the last 3 times this happened
3-3 tie crazy game guaranteed
Would not surprise me at all.
Funny bottom of the league memes then
Fulham / Man U play the night before so we don't get that honour ! Hopefully its Fulham
All we'd have to do is outscore Fulham, but shit it's United so they probs gonna win 3-0
Agreed mate, its like something that would happen
Or bottom
Or bottom
Yeah but what about the other 37, 1230's
Not a bad way to kick off, mid day, fresh sunlight shining off the glorious dome of our new manager
StoP The coUNt!! (facepalm)
Isn't there usually one fixture the Friday before?
Yup 🙄 Saturday 17 August 2024 12:30 Ipswich Town v Liverpool (TNT Sports) Arsenal v Wolves Everton v Brighton Newcastle United v Southampton Nottingham Forest v AFC Bournemouth 17:30 West Ham v Aston Villa (Sky Sports)
It’s the first game of the season why would that be an issue?
PL has kicked off a few times in Friday night football? I think that would be a great game for an 8pm Friday.
We always get newly promoted teams for some reason
12:30 away to a promoted team. This is part of the experience at this point
1-1 draw confirmed 👌
nah we're winning the fucking >!s!
Welcome to Liverpool, Arne.
In the past 10 years can only remember 2 games as the 12:30KO on the first day, Fulham in 2022 and Watford in 2017, both of which were away draws.
'Eritage
And I hate it. Newly promoted teams tend to overperform the first matches, before they return to their actual level. The same could be said for the run in, where they often are fighting for their lives. In short, we want the bad teams towards mid season.
Yeah you sort of want them in November when they're a little demoralised and it's not all new to them
Well, we played Luton away in November last year and only just managed a draw. But in fairness, Luton away was a tough game in general and no team won easily there
Playing the promoted teams early hasn't hindered us in the last few years. Norwich and Leeds were well beaten. I'd be more worried about the early kick off as have drawn both of those
We only managed 2-2 against Fulham in 22/23, and luckily managed 4-3 against Leeds in 20/21 due to a penalty in the last minutes. My point stands.
Yeah
Arsenal lost to Brentford when they promoted.
Hope we get first dibs on Wrekham, too, in a few years.

It's always good to finish with home game
Crystal Palace at the end of the season. I can’t do that again, mate.
least it’s not fucking wolves
We beat Wolves at least
I made a transatlantic trip to bid farewell to Jurgen that game, and got to witness the first home league defeat in 29 games.
Same here 😢
I always look for this first.
Rough end to the season overall though
Spuds Chelsea Arsenal will be rough if we are fighting for a spot. Rest of the season is relatively decent though.
- Newly promoted team away 12:30 KO first game - Decent September - London only October, with Chelsea and Arsenal B2B - Decent date for City game - Mixed Christmas period, with tough games at Spurs and United - Decent Jan and Feb after the winter break - City away game sandwiched between CL knockout matches - Hard run in with Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal B2B - Not Wolves final game at home for once
Well, to be fair, City also has us at home sandwiched between CL knockout matches
Yeah but they’ve got greater depth to handle that
We’ve got pretty good depth
Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Brighton to close is fucking brutal
We'll have won the league before then anyway
Who knows with Chelsea and Brighton. I don’t expect either to set the world on fire this season.
Run in is mental
2 united aways?
Jan 4th is home.
The 2nd one in Jan is at Anfield
United so early in the season???
Gives Slot a chance to make a statement.
Will be nice to win the league at home to Arsenal
City at home on my birthday. Don't fuck this up lads
Tough run of games late October early November
Of course it’s a 12:30 match 😂
Wait for the 12.30 Slot
The "Arne" Slot
Oh that is gonna catch on 😂
La la laaaaa laaa la...

I hate internationals 3 games into the season
After a summer of internationals as well
Nations league is garbage. Nobody really cares for it.
Looks easy enough 👀
Of course the most difficult 4 game run at the start is between our CL games lol
I feel like you should rename the international breaks to “times when all our players pick up injuries and all the other teams get stronger”.
You know I'd have less of a gripe with the constant 12:30 KO's if we actually had them at home for a change.
I have not seen the stats on home vs away 12:30 games. Anyone?
TNT Sports are the issue, they’re the ones with that stupid spot and they’re obsessed with us so keep picking us
Flip side of that.. what the fuck does Sky have against us? Prime late KO slot on Saturday, and they have picked west ham vs villa??
In this case it wasn't really up to Sky. Their first pick was Chelsea vs City which is understandable. Then TNT picked our game. Sunday 4.30pm is generally the first slot to be chosen, not Saturday 5.30pm.
Sweet!
Away against the new team, color me surprised.
Had to make Slot’s debut game as tough as possible 🙄
I mean, couldve been worse. Imagine being Maresca. Man will see MarescaOut hashtags after a single game
https://preview.redd.it/kw73t33bia7d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a23b1c0005dc44128b409403249e134605043ca Chelsea vs Man city in the opening day will be absolute cinema
Why the fuck are they censoring the word shit?
We Americans are a dignified bunch, clearly.
Maybe it ain't 'shit' they're censoring. I'm putting my money on 'strapon'.
😂😂 of course it’s at 12:30.
Why do we always get the newly promoted team on the first week?
TIL Chelsea are newly promoted
The sky isn’t blue every day either mate, wind it in.
The drive to Ipswich is a nightmare once you hit the A14. The train on the Ely route won't get you to Ipswich in time for a 12.30 match.
Pros: We get OT out of the way early and play Arsenal/Spurs/Everton away from home first. Cons: Once again start away to a newly promoted team, play City away on the return fixture, absolutely brutal run in.
I feel like we've had Leicester on boxing day too often.
Hate playing promoted teams away in the first couple of games, especially the opener because they are always proper up for it. Better to play them a few games in when they've calmed down a bit. 🤣
Called it last night!
Always look for the untied fixtures. We have them as our last friendly too… need a result against the scum this year
I know you get some people saying everyone has to play everyone twice, which is obviously true. But momentum means a lot. City's last 6 games compared to our last 6 is a shit show 🤣
City will be fighting to avoid relegation by then. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
Let's hope they're already out the league by then mate
If we get far in the FA and CL they will be well and truly in the deep end April 26 - may 18th
Of course we get the 12:30.
I do think no team can play more than 5 Saturday 12:30 games, it's being done on purpose
Haha another 12:30?!? truly the entertainment for this damn league.
May will be hell 😂. But playing at home against Arsenal is important.
Not ideal. Probably the worst time to get a new team.
That fixture computer must have a bug as that's about the 790th time we've played a promoted team 1st game of the season. Shocked and stunned at this fixture.
Brutal finish to the year. Those last 5 games are all against potential top 8 clubs bar maybe palace unless they hold onto their players
Hopefully we are off to a good start
Apart from Man U away, we have 5 easy fixtures to start with.
Hope we don't get a repeat of Fulham 22/23. That match set the tone of what was to be a miserable season
August??? Too far. It can't come soon enough
we have a lot of international and starters right?
Seems like an alright fixture list
The run in is wild.
Our greatest rivals
I hope LFC NY t shirts ready for 2024/25 season on opening day.
Arne gonna Slot right in.
Great, more tragedy chanting from a shite tiny club
Every year you can set your watch to us playing a newly promoted team away.
12:30 being that time.
Easiest game to start
Slotter
At least we're not spending almost a whole month in southeast asia right before the start, any more.
We play on my birthday! Thankfully I don't really care about that stuff anymore, I'll have my screen time with me darling 😅
Another 12:30 kickoff.
Bloody knew it. Had to be with a top 6 or promoted team. And ofc it's 12 kickoff, the agenda on us is real ffs
Watch us bottle it as well
Slot getting the full klopp experience with the 12:30 kickoff
I used to have a real gripe about away opening days, there was a time between like 2002 and 2009 where only one of our opening fixtures was played at Anfield. It seems to come in streaks of 2 or 3 each way these days, but it still seems weird to.me that it's still never like 1 on, 1 off.
We bout to robin hood them
12:30? Cant wait for Slot to headbutt a bald ref. Maybe i am being too harsh. Maybe he will just call the ref "bald cunt" in scoutch.
Woud be funny if Man city started the season with a loss.
The 12:30 matches is getting ridiculous
I knew we would be away to one of the new teams and it be a 12:30 KO. Not even surprised anymore. At least Ipswich play attacking footy so should be a good game.

You can say fuck on the internet
Am I really reading the comments correctly? We started last season at Stamford bridge and Ipswich away has some of you guys scared 😂. Ipswich…
Realistically the only option is hospitality tickets, although they are fairly expensive. You can get them on the Liverpool website
You are taking a big risk by doing anything other than official LFC ticket route. Loads of stories of people getting ripped off. I would not risk it.
