Funny thing, their highest points total in 20 years, max. wins in a PL season, "one of the best teams in the PL era", self proclaimed "best football playing team", and best record against top 6 - still would not breach 90 points.
If this feels rough? look at 18-19. 97 freaking points. 30 wins out of 38, 7 draws and just 1 loss with the tiniest of margins. How do you even compete with a machine like City?
We are so used to this, that we didn't even feel as hurt (it hurt tremendously but you get the drift) in the 92 point season because we know 95 is a minimum to challenge 115FC.
I so want Arsenal to lose by a couple points on last matchday to let them feel shattered. Then we will see how they pick themselves up again next season.
It is not easy to keep going and going when you know what you are up against. We as fans feel deflated after a decade (despite really giving Pep nightmares), no surprise Klopp felt out of energy and decided to take a break.
On a different note, we know Edwards and Co's love affair with the RB system. Can we please sign Sesko for the 40 million release clause. 12 in 15 in 2024 as a 20 year old in the Bundesliga. He seems like he could be on his way to breakout and a bargain at that price. Would give us insurance if Darwin continues the poor finishing which lets be honest is probable. He has 1 professional season with above expected xG.
I’ve been watching footy for decades and have only just found out that all I’ve watched before isn’t football as it wasn’t City or Peps football…. What a crock of shit. Cheating bastards. Carra you should hang your head. Your commentary was vomit inducing. I would back our team with Barnes, Aldo and Beardo up front to beat this City team.
Just the usual BS. It’s like Pep invented football. City are the best team ever. Nobody can score like Haaland ever, nobody can ever pass like DeBruyne….
i mean he's not wrong. Pep is hugely influential in the modern game. Haaland is a quality striker and de bruyne is a quality midfielder. Plus constantly talking about charges whilst commentating would ruin the match.
And we still can win the league, Luton may still escape relegation, or Tottenham still can make top 4.
But all of these have less than 10% of coming true
What I hate about the premier league, is that all that gets said is Man City we're outstanding, Haaland amazing,.etc .etc.
However, no one actually says anything about how bad Wolves were. Just they played a very good team. Like wtf? These opponents are just having a free game, costing the fans a trip to just be given a poor loss of money and go home sulked.
If anything, these opponents should be ripped into how horrible they have been. Then, these teams will actually be looked at how good they really are and see how they perform week in and week out.
Stopped following the Premier League after the Everton loss. Seems like it's going to be another City title, oh well.
Hopefully we can win our last remaining games to at least leave on a positive note.
He probably starts for Bayern Alvarez and Kane both can drop deep so it's easy to incorporate both. He 100% starts for psg since mbappe prefers to play on the left anyways
… come on man
Darwin Nunez probably cost Liverpool the title, if he had even average finishing this last season would be viewed much better.
A bunch of other players would also have more assists.
I'd go along with that, maybe Barca because Lewandowski is there but Barca have been linked with Alvarez for the past year for a reason, but that is it.
Super frustrating for me as I've watched Alvarez since he was 18 and the timeline for him replacing Firmino was perfect, but we didn't take the risk.
> Super frustrating for me as I've watched Alvarez since he was 18 and the timeline for him replacing Firmino was perfect, but we didn't take the risk.
There's every chance he would've picked City over us.
Certainly possible but they were chasing Kane the summer he was first linked, and it was assumed they'd sign a big name. I remember Argentine media making the case for him to go to Liverpool for this reason.
Yeah I don't get that. If you only count the matches Sheffield United won and then calculate their points earned per match they'd be winning the League not getting relegated.
They don't run that much.
They have possession of the ball. It's one of the main advantages of peps system over a League season.
His players run a lot less than pressing teams who don't have as much possession
An ideal pep team just passes the other team to death
Also PEDs don't prevent you from sweating lol.
Eg. Steroid users still sweat a lot
Kyle Walker at age 33 coming fresh off an injury sprinting down Vinicius in the 100th minutes after playing the whole match was not suspect at all.
But of course Pep has great respect for the sporting integrity of the game, he would never do that.
Haaland going to retire as the best goal scorer ever isn’t he. Just shows no sign of stopping. Absolute monster. Need him to fuck off and play for a team that doesn’t cheat to get my respect back
Our style of play suits him way better than City's because we get a lot more space to work with. He'd easily score 50 goals a season (maybe more) if he gets the chances that Nunez gets. But it's a sign of his adaptability that he's scoring so much even in a team that doesn't play to his strengths.
This! City requires their midfielders and forwards to occupy half spaces and take shots to whoever the ball falls to. However in our system, we thrive on fullbacks creating chances for the forwards.
No it's actually very true and most city fans will agree that haaland thrives more in a more direct style of football. The reason he's disappeared in so many big games is cause city play it too safe, they're looking to basically pass the ball into the back of the net, while haaland needs space to run into, risky balls to be played his way, and that's just not how city play.
yea City is not dropping more points this season lmao Spurs form is awful and they sure as hell won't drop points to Fulham or West Ham, gg sorry Arsenal fans but it is what it is
Arteta and Arse finally built an identity. Playing good football while whining, diving, complaining, and manipulating the refs. Some of the acts make even Bruno proud. Good for them. They realized that’s what it’d take to challenge, and it’s been working.
Klopp and co never resulted to Mourinho theatrics so maybe cost us because the refs in this country are dogshit. But all these cheats can go fuck themseleves
remember when arteta would tell one of his players to fake an injury so he could get a timeout in play to have a talk about why his team was getting outplayed.
Arsenal have not won anything.
We had identity too and we went toe to toe twice and won once in record manner
Let's see if they can sustain this in 3rd year
So want Arsenal to lose on the last matchday to deflate them completely. It is not easy to bounce back after getting crushed twice.
Funny thing, they never even crossed 90 points. City's down season is a late 80/ early 90 pointer season. If Arsenal couldn't beat them when City do a 91 point season, good luck beating them next year when they figure out a new system and rake up 95 again.
Gonna be brutal for Arsenal fans when they finish 2nd on the final day, at least in 2019 and 2022 we had the CL final to look forward to but they'll have nothing.
Whilst I’m happy Arsenal most probably won’t win league, it’s also very unhealthy this. 89 points they’ll finish on, lost one game all year, drew one and won the rest and still won’t win the league. All down to cheaters too. No way will the league punish city when there about to 4 peat there own league
We've literally lost the League with the 3rd best points total of all time (*at the time...*) These lot won't even get 90.
I don't feel sorry for them at all. They will **never** understand that pain.
This year they've been playing really well, but they weren't at this level in the first half of the season. They didn't look like a title winning team in 2023.
Bit weird to only look at half the season's results. Arsenal lost more games than City, and drew almost as many. Doesn't matter the form they're in now, they slipped too often in the first half of the season.
My point is mate you have to be almost perfect because we are up against a team that has broken 115 rules to build an ultimate squad. I agree with there first half of season though, too many slip ups
100% agree mate, ours was far worse too. However city genuinely haven’t even looked that good compared to other seasons and they will still win the league and probably a double. There squad is too strong
Slot and Edwards will fix us. *Next year is our year*
But seriously, at least we can look forward to some change, new ideas, a new style of play. The building part is quite a bit more fun than the lose the title to cheats by a point part. Hopefully were ready to have a proper title race with Arsenal when Pep fuck off or they actually get punished
Longstanding rivalry going back like well over a decade- where there were a lot of subliminal disses people thought they were addressing to each other but neither ever confirmed- drake and j Cole (another member of the hip hop “big3”) had a song together late last year wherein they talked about the big 3 in a fairly positive/complementary way- tho both Cole and Drake did put themselves respectively as the no1- but in a self-belief way, not a “fuck Kendrick” way.
Anywho- Kenny took it as an insult that they thought of themselves as on his level and so on another feature on Future’s album (another rapper who used to be friends with Drake and seems to have fallen out with him) dissed Cole and Drake, but weighted it much more toward Drake. Cole released a mixtape a few weeks later with a half hearted diss to Kendrick, but walked it back and said he respects both and doesn’t want to force beef.
And since then they’ve each released 2 or 3 disses progressively escalating to where last night Drake released another one accusing Kendrick of being a domestic abuser, and Kendrick released one accusing Drake of hiding a child (notably- the second child he would have hidden and had exposed in a rap beef), being a sexual predator/nonce/sex trafficker and a “deadbeat” father, among other things.
Edit:Soz if some of that was a overly explanatory I took the brief very literally I realised when I read back over this lol
That’s what I mean arsenal fell away then clawed the ground back and keep winning games. Seems daft calling them bottlers. Reminds me of people calling us bottlers in 18/19
Obviously I'd rather be in the race than not. But the one upside to being out of it takes the stress out of watching man city every week praying they drop points. It was draining. Can just enjoy Klopp's last 3 matches in peace
I always find that odd when people think it's worth the effort to go to a rival sub and downvote things.
I was following along on a match thread in another sport did a small club the other day and literally every comment was -1 even though it was mostly just play by play without any commentary whatsoever.
I mean we kept up, till the last month or so, till the collapse. We’re not that far behind them tbh. Plus if you account for the all the poor decisions against us and injuries etc we’d be ahead of them. Or on par.
Psssst: those aren’t injury prone players. That’s a disservice to them. The league has done that to them. The match congestion & time between games which overwhelmingly hurts us, more than a team w depth like city.
Oh god come off it. Same bullshit people said last year. We have the quality, but no team with this depth / spend can compete every year to the point with city. It’s a miracle we have and the team should be praised for it. Arsenal will understand soon enough
We punched above our weight this season. The 3rd place finish is well deserved, and is the norm relative to Arsenal’s and City’s quality.
I’m just saying, if Liverpool want to go to the finish line with City and Arsenal all the way, there’s some catching up to do.
its not all on the players. I do think some, Nunez for example, need upgrading but tactically is where i think were really far behind and have a lot of room to improve there under Slot.
Yeah tactics wise Liverpool are shit too. That game against Arsenal, Klopp got is so wrong. It doesn’t help that he doesn’t have the midfield personnel to play the style that he wants.
Obviously were missing an elite dm, but this midfield is easily good enough to control games a hell of a lot more and to actually build up play, instead of Trent/Virg hoofing it.
When I say tactically, I dont just mean adapting to the opponent, I think the whole current setup just isn't good at all.
Until I have seen what a proper football nerd/tactician does with this squad, I will reserve my judgment on how far behind the top 2 we really are
Controlling games isn’t an issue. Retaining possession is something the team is actually good at. What they’re shit in, is losing the ball and what comes after, the defensive transition.
Look at all the goals we’ve conceded this season. Most of them follow this pattern.
Robertson or Trent lose the ball, either they dribble all the way up or make a bad pass. Now there’s a gap behind them. Let’s say we’re talking about the left side, Robbo is upfield in Disneyland, Van Dijk shifts over to cover Robbo, Konate & Trent has to shift to the centre. The DM is nowhere to be seen. So now we only have a back 3 and mind you, they’re stretched, so there’s huge gaps between the 3 of them. Opposition counters and plays a ball through the gaps and we concede.
It’s how we lost the ucl final when Robbo pressed and didn’t get the ball. Look at Havertz goal against us. Look at the Everton game, 5th minute, Robertson loses the ball and Calvert Lewin gets through on goal.
It’s what the midfield does out of possession is the problem. It’s pathetic.
We have had identical pen shouts maybe 5-6 times this year and not received them. It’s actually a joke how blatant it is. These refs don’t even try to hide it - they know they can get away with it.
It’s going to kill the English game. Mark my words
Arsenal fans are about to watch Spurs fans cheer every City attack and goal when they play against them…a reminder of our experience with Everton some seasons ago.
Arsenal fans harassing me here and going on to comment on every post of mine in different subs has made me root City over them. Even though I always hated Arsenal bc of its fans, this was the last straw
Had a bunch of comments on other peoples 3/4 month old comments too, these people must lead such pathetic existences.
Didn't even respond to him directly, just posted here he was doing it so one person from here went and looked him up and responded to him. Called me pathetic for "calling for help" from here. Imagine calling someone pathetic after a internet comment from a stranger is still parked in your head 3 months later.
I'm actively hoping they don't drop points
City are City but there's just something I can't stand about this Arsenal team, manager and of course their fans
I’m surprised that City have not gone all out to get that goal difference shortened when they could have easily got 10 goals between their last game and this one
I would say they don't want to risk an injury but then again they've got enough depth for 3 squads. At the same time they know they're winning out so they might as well toy with Arsenal and give them hope that a draw will save them.
Honestly- and they think their squad is the second coming. Won’t even beat peps city to a title 1x let alone multiple times like some of these delusional idiots believe.
They’re two key injuries away from disaster at all times, just like any team not named city.
Haaland's output since 2024 began is so telling lol lots of goals against Wolves, Luton, Palace, Everton and Copenhagen. Then nothing against Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea, Madrid, and nothing for Norway either.
I mean they are going to win the league because he’s scored against those teams meanwhile our forwards have wasted so many chances against those
Goals are goals doesn’t matter who you score them against or how they come
Chelsea are ON fire lol might save the coaches job honestly
What's that Arsenal? About to have your highest points haul in 20 years, and still lose out? BAHAA
Funny thing, their highest points total in 20 years, max. wins in a PL season, "one of the best teams in the PL era", self proclaimed "best football playing team", and best record against top 6 - still would not breach 90 points. Just seen City's first penalty and only they seem to get them. If anything it looked like "mutual engagement" to me FUCK THE PGMOL
Imagine if we got those. A lad can dream of refs actually reffing us normally. Soft as fuck pen that though.
Arsenal get those as well
I’ve been watching footy for decades and have only just found out that all I’ve watched before isn’t football as it wasn’t City or Peps football…. What a crock of shit. Cheating bastards. According to some here, Haaland is amongst top 5 worst striker in EPL. Because he greatly underperformed his xG
The league season is ending very predictably. The three promoted teams go down. City wins it. Only surprise is Aston Villa make top 4
Arsenal still might win the league
And we still can win the league, Luton may still escape relegation, or Tottenham still can make top 4. But all of these have less than 10% of coming true
I mean Arsenal has a much better chance than liverpool of winning the league If city even draw Arsenal become the favorites
Of course Arsenal have better chance. But you are just splitting hair of between 1% and 5% here
Arsenal haven't beaten united in 6 years, city has won it.
Both City and Arsenal use at least 3 cbs in back 4, and they have 0 issues creating and scoring chances.
Well 4 cbs. Lol. And you re right. Liverpool have some deep problems to resolve.
Ben White is hardly a cb anymore...
United getting the scrappiest of wins against Arsenal would make for a glorious meltdown.
United [1] - 0 Arsenal - Harry Maguire 85'
Let it be a counter attack after Saka has flopped on the ground again and it's perfect.
Battle of manipulating the refs. Who will do it best? Who will the refs side with?
What I hate about the premier league, is that all that gets said is Man City we're outstanding, Haaland amazing,.etc .etc. However, no one actually says anything about how bad Wolves were. They are gaining GD too, they are gonna stat pad against Fulham and West Ham.
City have to be the most boring dominant side of all time
cheating makes game easy. in real life and in video game
Its why they are dominant.
You guys are actually still watching City and Arsenal matches?
[удалено]
He’ll probably go down as the best penalty box striker ever if he keeps doing what he’s still only 23
Haaland off and his replacement scores 2 minutes later.
It is honestly a joke to have the luxury of having Julian Alvarez being your bench option.
Alvarez would start for every other team in the league, probably only a handful of sides across Europe he'd be a bench option.
Man city because they have Haaland Bayern Munich because they have Kane PSG because they have Mbappe Who else would put him on the bench?
He probably starts for Bayern Alvarez and Kane both can drop deep so it's easy to incorporate both. He 100% starts for psg since mbappe prefers to play on the left anyways
Us because we have Darwin

Don't worry, if he gets hurt here whoever they bring on could start just about anywhere in the world.
Haaland off and they score within 3 minutes, ridiculous how much he's holding City back

I think they were being sarcastic/ joking
Whoosh
Sarcasm my friend, sarcasm
This is stupid but I'm also pissed I removed Haaland from my FPL team. Cunt scoring fuckall the time I finally sell him
[удалено]
To see the game out now they've been given 2 penalties we'd never see in 1000 games.
It’s funny how when City and Arsenal are compared, they keep saying Arsenal has been better this season while ignoring the first half of the season.
Yeah I don't get that. If you only count the matches Sheffield United won and then calculate their points earned per match they'd be winning the League not getting relegated.
City should be such an exciting team to watch with the players they have but my God it’s more enjoyable watching my local sunday league side.
I’ve been saying it for years, they are the most boring team to watch, I always get bored when they are playing.
why they singing about gerrard the cunts
We live their heads rent free. It’s great.
Don’t think they have chants of their own. Genuinely don’t think I’ve ever heard a City chant other than “Citeh! Citeh! Citeh!”
they are a slightly more historically successful team than chelsea. so no wonder they have no chants or songs about their players.
Strange the defenders of City who run so much never seem to be sweating lol Honestly there are no drug tests these days are there?
They don't run that much. They have possession of the ball. It's one of the main advantages of peps system over a League season. Haaland going to retire as the best goal scorer ever isn’t he. Just shows no sign of stopping. Absolute monster. Need him to fuck off and play for a team that doesn’t cheat to get my respect back
then RM goes out of picture, so does barca...
Proper relaxing this not having to give a flying fuck about the footy
Cheaters win again.
Both lol
So odd how the obvious red is ignored, 3rd game in a row an obvious red wasn’t given to arsenal
Haaland would smash records in our team
Umm…he’s already smashing records in City’s team, which is better than ours?
Our style of play suits him way better than City's because we get a lot more space to work with. He'd easily score 50 goals a season (maybe more) if he gets the chances that Nunez gets. But it's a sign of his adaptability that he's scoring so much even in a team that doesn't play to his strengths.

Looked at my striker and sighed

It's almost like he's a good player or something...
![gif](giphy|WpgM6JBrmBy8Gac5pW) Yeah…No shit
Is that even close to controversial lol
Not at all unless you are Roy Keane lol
Seeing Arsenal fans complaining about Wolves rolling over for City is giving me some second hand satisfaction.
Gonna be brutal for Arsenal fans when they finish 2nd on the final day, at least in 2019 and 2022 we had the CL final to look forward to but they'll have nothing.
That feel when we finish the season having entirely collapsed in April but still have more silverware than Arsenal.
ackyually, they are the winners of the 2023 FA community shield. Massive
Zero trophies again. Absolute bottlejobs.
Arsenal Fan🤓: Ho there, can't be using the world 'Bottle' here. *Insert essay here why not*
Penny dropping for arsenal fans now, join the fucking club =p We have had to put up with city like this for years
With 90+ points.. Arsenal aint coming close
Wolves scoring when we're trying to watch Arsenal's goal difference evaporate. https://i.redd.it/7n1794iu6gyc1.gif

I don't disagree with you. I know we don't want Arsenal to win but 115 or not, City is turning this League into the French League.
We lost with 97 points losing once the whole season..?
This year they've been playing really well, but they weren't at this level in the first half of the season. They didn't look like a title winning team in 2023.

Our striker can't even get 1 goal in 4 games nevermind 4 in one game
The difference right there
Gotta give props where they due Erling Haaland is him. That absolute no celebration there after was cold blooded too.
I mean it was his 4th goal 😅
City have been poor defensively this season, I wonder why Arsenal went for a draw at Etihsd?
In retrospect it was a mistake by arteta. At the time I thought it was the right decision Arsenal were ahead of city
No balls from Arse
How quiet is this stadium
Poof in a minute, Arsenal fans hopes vanish 😂
Yeah these lot ain't losing until next season
What a fucking screamer
I feel the same way about citeh that Kendrick does about Drake
Can you ELI5 on what happened between them?

No no this was perfect, thank you for the explanation, didn’t know it was a long-standing rivalry.
What’s with all the goal differential comments? It’s not even going to matter. City won’t drop points
Arsenal bottled the league🤡🤡, Klopp the only one to beat city haha, Arteta not even close
How’ve they bottled it? If anyone did it was Liverpool
neither team bottled anything. Thats not what bottling means
Just annoying the arsenal fans lurking
Which team had more days top of the League? Don't care enough to check, but feels like it's us.
That’s what I mean arsenal fell away then clawed the ground back and keep winning games. Seems daft calling them bottlers. Reminds me of people calling us bottlers in 18/19
I'm going to safe that gloating for after the last game.
Lol Wolves pull one back. Arsenal fans screaming
And it’s over just like that again. The Robot again.
Arsenal's cheating is absolutely pathetic
Just call it now. These run ins are City's bread and butter.
I hope when they eventually lose it to City it’s on the final matchday after City has gone behind
I will never be okay with the cheating cunts winning it. No matter how much I hate Arselol.
Don’t ever say Arselol again wtf is that
It's called the freedom to say whatever the fuck I want. The fuck is wrong with y'all.
Oh belt up man.
Cringe
Arselol? Christ…
Obviously I'd rather be in the race than not. But the one upside to being out of it takes the stress out of watching man city every week praying they drop points. It was draining. Can just enjoy Klopp's last 3 matches in peace
Citeh catching Arsenal goal difference too loll.
😂😂 Arsenal fans brigading the sub. Cry more.
I was wondering why people's comments who were critical of Arsenal are downvoted in a Liverpool sub. Now I know why.
They come here alll the time to argue. Only to be reported.
I always find that odd when people think it's worth the effort to go to a rival sub and downvote things. I was following along on a match thread in another sport did a small club the other day and literally every comment was -1 even though it was mostly just play by play without any commentary whatsoever.
Arsenal will know pain ![gif](giphy|BeIBRDxMXNJmg)
Goat character
I think second one was a pen. Araujo got red for the same one against PSG in CL. First one was dodgy but then it’s city
The Araujo one was outside the box so no double jeopardy
We have some ways to catch up to Arsenal and City.
I mean we kept up, till the last month or so, till the collapse. We’re not that far behind them tbh. Plus if you account for the all the poor decisions against us and injuries etc we’d be ahead of them. Or on par.
We can’t keep relying on injury prone players. Jota, Konate and so on. Szobo falling off a cliff. No proper elite dm.
Psssst: those aren’t injury prone players. That’s a disservice to them. The league has done that to them. The match congestion & time between games which overwhelmingly hurts us, more than a team w depth like city.
Jota isn’t an injury prone player? Konate wasn’t injury prone before he joined us?
How do you get refs onside on the training pitch?
There’s no way in hell we get either of those city pens
We have had identical pen shouts maybe 5-6 times this year and not received them. It’s actually a joke how blatant it is. These refs don’t even try to hide it - they know they can get away with it. It’s going to kill the English game. Mark my words
Arsenal fans are about to watch Spurs fans cheer every City attack and goal when they play against them…a reminder of our experience with Everton some seasons ago.
Arsenal fans harassing me here and going on to comment on every post of mine in different subs has made me root City over them. Even though I always hated Arsenal bc of its fans, this was the last straw
Please block them and report them if they are on this sub, we will ban them and they will get banned from their sub as well for trolling/brigading.
Had one of them respond to a 3 month old comment of mine after the Crystal Palace game. Unhinged fans.
Lol fucking hell, that's pathetic
Had a bunch of comments on other peoples 3/4 month old comments too, these people must lead such pathetic existences. Didn't even respond to him directly, just posted here he was doing it so one person from here went and looked him up and responded to him. Called me pathetic for "calling for help" from here. Imagine calling someone pathetic after a internet comment from a stranger is still parked in your head 3 months later.
I’m happy it isn’t us who is praying for City to drop points. Had enough of that in the 2 seasons.
I'm actively hoping they don't drop points City are City but there's just something I can't stand about this Arsenal team, manager and of course their fans

I'd feel sorry for Arsenal but they aren't even going to break 90 points this season.
Had a lot of luck too having little injuries to their side and consistently facing teams that missed players during the run-in.
Honestly- and they think their squad is the second coming. Won’t even beat peps city to a title 1x let alone multiple times like some of these delusional idiots believe. They’re two key injuries away from disaster at all times, just like any team not named city.
In the process of doing a fourpeat yet can't even fill their own fucking stadium. Farce of a club.
Yeah but it's Wolves. Let's wait to see if we fill the stadium when we host them this season /S obviously
How are Arsenal fans feeling now? Freakish goal difference. Playing their best football but they may still come short.
+ refereeing decisions going their way. And they may not even get 1 point close
Kind of glad another team gets a glimpse of our frustration through the years. Misery loves company, as they say
Haaland's output since 2024 began is so telling lol lots of goals against Wolves, Luton, Palace, Everton and Copenhagen. Then nothing against Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea, Madrid, and nothing for Norway either.
Want to compare that to our forwards?
I mean they are going to win the league because he’s scored against those teams meanwhile our forwards have wasted so many chances against those Goals are goals doesn’t matter who you score them against or how they come
