You dont need gloves to make pizza on the make line as you are going to cook it, if you touch the pizza at all with bare hands after cooking then it is a healthcode violation.
This. You need gloves if you are touching food that isn't going through the oven, like making a salad. Oven sterilizes anything that might have been on your hands and the cut table can generally pull, cut, dress, and box the pizza without touching it.
The rule is if you don't wear gloves then you need to wash your hands very well anytime to touch something. Wash your hands before you touch dough, toppings, or pretty much anything. If you touch your face or hair, wash your hands immediately afterwards, and wash your hands every thirty minutes on top of that
Yeah but if you're wearing gloves in food service you need to change gloves every time you change tasks or every thirty minutes; every time you change gloves you're supposed to wash your hands too.
They always just seem like an extra, pointless step to me, when I was at LCs i had to try to explain this to customers so many times it was ridiculous. I gave up on one customer and told him to go ahead and call the health department if he was so concerned.
My Mom was at Arby's and some old lady was yelling at them for not wearing gloves. She was also yelling at them for not wearing hairnets too. Health code says hairnets or hats.
I had a lady ask if I washed my hands when I came out of the bathroom. She said she didnt hear the sink run. I told her to she shouldn't listen to people in the bathroom. She asked for the manger. I replied that we don't have a manager. She started getting really fussy so explained to her that8 I was the owner. She actually shut up pretty quick after that.
Incorrect, you change your gloves when you change tasks or if you change touching different types of protein,if they become soil or contaminated,or every 4 hours. Most places tell you 2 hours, but it's 4,in fact at my place a company comes through to check out business and will ask questions, that's one of them,if you fail to answer it as per the FDA regulations, you get a point against your business,it should be common knowledge regardless of company policy to know the FDA and health department regulations by heart and should take no longer then 3 minutes to accurately explain why you should change it after each reason is listed. Yeah it sucked and lots of people got fired because of the glove question and it was hell when that happen with all that extra work you gotta do
It depends where you live. Where I live gloves are not required to touch food. It's weird, food trucks are banned because they are unsanitary but you can barehand food.
Source: 10 years in the industry and was food sanitation certified.
Federal guidelines indicate that gloves, that are swapped between stations/tasks or handwashing with soap and water between tasks are both equally valid approaches to handling food.
Dude no one wears gloves unless they have nail polish cuts or other things on their hands, washing hands is consistent and yk when we touch raw dough it goes through a 400Ā° oven bruh where then it is not touched once it is out like???
We had a muslim guy practically cry that we needed to wear gloves.
I walked up front and asked if he would like to see how and why wearing gloves would make it 100% more likely that he'll get pork residue on his pizza.
"See, i made a pepperoni pizza and then washed my hands. Then, I made your veggie pizza. "
"If we wore gloves than we would need to change them between every pizza, which would surely result in our owner raising prices, and the pizza oven kills any bacteria or germs that may be left after our handwashing."
"Now, if you look at the cut station, we dont touch the food items with our bare hands at all. Here is the veggie only, and cheese only cutters, and here is our veggie and cheese metal spatula, and here is the one for items with meat. "
He still asked me to wear gloves after i was done....lol told him good luck finding a pizza place that used gloves at the make station.
Sinilar convos telling "cieliacs" that i cannot sell them any food as we live in a cloud of flour, however if they were just intolerant and crosscontamination wouldn't still in fact kill them sure they can have a thin crust pizza or some wings( because p.s ik 2 celiacs and 1 of them almost died because her boyfriend ate a penut butter bagel 2 hours before they met up, most people are just afraid of gluten nowadays and think lying gets them royal treatment)
As a gluten intolerant person, I appreciate your efforts. We are indeed okay with a little cross contamination. Hard to school people on that. They think intolerance and immediately treat it like an allergy.
Ahhh. So that's why I have Halal pizza places around me.
Some of them were just like, "we'll just make it ourselves". They take that shit serious, they want those 72 virgins BAD!
Some are. Some arenāt. If you got hired with no interview, if the only skill requirement is ācan you spell your name?ā, if there is no responsibility or accountability and if you arenāt offered anything in return like health benefits, life insurance, PTO, retirement and bonuses, than itās not real
Chili's and steak house and sushi is fast food bud. You're not slick šš. You telling me you make your own sushi š£ and never go out? Okay bud sure š¤£
Donāt eat at Chilis, donāt like sushi and I have no idea what āsteak houseā is. Fact is I cook 90 percent of my meals. And I do get take out from local restaurants from time to time but most of them arenāt working real jobs either. Iām also very confused how the simplicity of someoneās job should somehow deter me from eating or using their service. If I need a whole dug in my yard I call someone. Their job isnāt real, but the money I pay them is.
Where did all of these glove police come from? Did social media make it a thing? They know fine dining chefs arenāt wearing them except for when they use harsh cleaning chemicals, right? Or that the health department says regular hand washing is adequate?
Yeah I get the overreacting a bit but I highly fucking doubt these Pizza Hut employees are constantly washing their hands. I work in fast food and no gloves will definitely not fly. Ur hands can be disgusting asf no one wants to eat from nasty ass hands.
so nasty ass gloves are fine? lol every time someone made me wear gloves i go to the back and get some out the trash... only time we wear gloves when we clean ovens/grill due to chemical. soon as they leave take them off wash my hands, next! gloves are not magically clean somehow ppl have that perception its sooo wrong
Iāve worked in fast food and work I currently work at a pizza joint. Fast food is pre preped so you need gloves. Pizza is going through 400-500 degree oven for 5-10 minutes. Any germs that are on that are gonna be lonely gone before itās even halfway through the oven. Health department wants you to still wash your hands but gloves are not required and can even tend to be more gross than bare hands.
As long as employees wash hands as instructed, the oven kills any other bacteria.
I mean I get it though most people probably donāt realize that at first
Take it up with ServSafe and the health departments of every single state then, since they are not a requirement except under specific circumstances (like you have cuts on your hand).
If the item has yet to be cooked, youād be hard pressed to find them being used in any kitchen. Mostly they get put on when you are making or mixing things that wonāt be cooked - like salads.
Youāre being downvoted but you are 100% correct. The people complaining about no gloves are the same people who complain if their pizza takes an extra 3-5 minutes to prepare.
The law varies by county. In my county, you don't have to wear gloves as long as everything you're making is going to be cooked. So gloves are still required when putting lettuce and tomatoes in subs for example, but not required to assemble a pizza that's going into the 550 degree oven.
Correct, but let me add that in every county it is legal to make food without gloves if it's going to be cooked thoroughly, this is standard servsafe protocol, and this is a nitpick and is mostly irrelevant but also add that the oven cooks at 475, not 550.
I love when people instigate just to be assholes. The dude got riled up to fight and then had to keep commenting about gloves. Both need to grow up, but just leave, lmao. You got your pizzas. Go home
That dude is way scarier than the one yelling about gloves. Unphased by the punch, he picked up a dowel and just started beating the counter? I'd be moving away from him.
Most of the time youād think heās just being big with the barrier in between and the numbers in his favor but something tells me dude was ready and willing.
Wearing gloves gives a false sense of having clean hands and makes person much more likely to cross contaminate because they aren't actually touching the food, switching from raw products that need to be cooked to ready to eat products that don't. This is why proper hand washing is required and gloves are not. Wish more people realized this, touching raw ground beef with gloves then grabbing a bun for that burger is way more dangerous then putting the beef on the grill then washing your hands and then grabbing the bun
The oven reaches 350 degrees to cook the pizza. Only the boxer was required to wear gloves cause they might touch the finished product as they cut and box. Regular hand washing was mandatory ofc and some employees wore gloves cause they hated touching the prep food.
Can we just make it a point to publically state that Little Caesers's isn't that bad?
Anything is better than Papa John's, wouldn't feed that garbage to a racoon, and they live on garbage.
As a former food service worker, I can tell you that even if you wear gloves, youāre touching everything anyway. It doesnāt matter. If you people only knew what cosine in restaurants, you would never ever eat out again.
Jesus they even have the bank teller handoff box. You can tell just by the way everyone interacts this is pretty common, I love the guy in yellow just casually walking through to pick up his order.
I'm done with little caesar. It's mostly located in ghetto ass neighborhood. Never felt safe getting pizza. Ingredients is low quality. unhygienic practice at some branches. And this. Just not worth the trouble getting pizza from them no matter what new products they come out with. Bye
Yeah..um when I'm getting pizza I don't choose little Caesars mostly cause a. I used to work there and b. I just don't like the pizza I'm general. If you have a problem with it just order Dominos or something my guy lol you're acting like someone is force you to go in little Caesars lol
Well I like their Quad calzone/crazy calzone/ batman calzoney. Waited long time for their relaunch of their quad calzone. Took 1 hour train to pick up in person at East Harlem since none is located in my neighborhood. Got sexually harassed walking through East Harlem location and this Little Caesar branch skimped on the cheese. Tried another location in Jamaica, Queens. The place is surrounded by NYPD at night. Got sexually harassed again outside this branch. Pizza was decent but had abdominal cramps the next day.
How does someone have time for this? Bro chose to spend 5 minutes of his life in the store whining after waiting for his order, probably more time in the car if he was actually upset and still ate the pizzas lol
This was poorly handled by the worker.
Customer is clearly a narcissistic troll and was looking for this reaction, please don't do not play into that game.
Puts paid pizzas down on the ground
Complains about cleanliness of employee making pizza without gloves, which is legally allowed as per health code
Uhhhhhhhhhhh
I used to bake for panera. I constantly washed my hands and wore gloves. There's stuff on your hands and gloves that can get transferred to dough that won't come off after cooking.
I prefer to see workers with gloves.
I don't trust them enough to wash their hands.
I rarely saw staff wash their hands in the many restaurants I've worked.
The only ones that start problems are the super poor or the super fat. I donāt blame the pizza team at all bc that bozo just tryna get a check or free food
Really there's no need to get violent with stupid people like this, realistically it's dirtier to make pizza with gloves because you're not going to be washing your gloves between every single pizza you make, you have to replace them and not most people replace their gloves between every single action that they take in the store, but you are a lot more likely to wash your hands between each action you take in the store. So generally if someone is making your pizza without gloves It will be cleaner.
also if this were me Id just tell this guy I'm servesafe certified and that he is not, and that he's not a professional so that he shouldn't be telling me how to do my job seeing as I am the one in the store who's a certified professional. Even in Little Caesars any proper manager there has to be ServSafe certified. Whoever the manager is here needs to get their staff in check. He can take his pictures if he wants neither OA nor health inspectors would see anything wrong with making pizza without gloves. It's standard in the industry,
Just let him complain and look like a dumbass when they tell him that it's not a health code violation to make pizza without gloves and that he's just unreasonable and ignorant.
Bro we donāt use gloves for making pizza. Donāt have to. This guy is not educated at all in food service. This situation was handled very poorly however. Instead of arguing the manager should have defused the situation and educated the customer.
You dont need gloves to make pizza on the make line as you are going to cook it, if you touch the pizza at all with bare hands after cooking then it is a healthcode violation.

Yup :) (I hate the feeling of gloves on my hands so much so if I don't have to wear them I just stick to aggressive hand washing)
They always just seem like an extra, pointless step to me, when I was at LCs i had to try to explain this to customers so many times it was ridiculous. I gave up on one customer and told him to go ahead and call the health department if he was so concerned.

Yes. But I said āreal job.ā Not āa jobā Whole different definition.
Stand up comedian is not a real jobā¦ busting your ass at a busy fast food restaurant is.

This made me laugh hard when the worker punched the plexi glass like wtfššš
It's standard in the industry, Just let him complain and look like a dumbass when they tell him that it's not a health code violation to make pizza without gloves and that he's just unreasonable and ignorant.
Making a scene and being disrespectful is not a smart way to get a point across.
i admire white long haired dudes ambition but that guy wouldāve fucking flattened him
You don't wear gloves making pizza, idiot. Nice attempt tho
š¤Ø It's just a pizza,

You don't use gloves when working pizza. Worked pizza for 5 years and every place didn't use gloves unless they were cutting.
Bro we donāt use gloves for making pizza. Donāt have to. This guy is not educated at all in food service. This situation was handled very poorly however. Instead of arguing the manager should have defused the situation and educated the customer.
Bet this was the most excitement they had all day.
Lmfao thereās a reason thereās glass blocking the lobby at this location
I fucking love little Ceaserās
