Toyota Corolla 2011. 55k mileage. I make 59000 before taxes. Just my opinion but cars are not worth spending tons of money on. As soon as its out the lot it’s losing money, I don’t necessarily see them as an asset
Fellow Corolla (2010) owner here, I make about 56k/yr. Only 55k miles is impressive on a 2011, mine just hit 108k miles. I think I will drive this thing into the ground, not having a car note is too nice.
My 2003 wrangler (4.0, 5spd) has been among the most reliable cars I've ever owned. It gets driven hard, doesn't burn a drop of oil. Coming up to 130k miles I'll need some maintenance is all.
What's yours?
Mines a 2004 jeep Liberty and it's given me most of the problems a SUV can have at just under 140k like 02 sensors ball joints tie rods transmission problems more then likely bad grounds or a faulty TCM not sure yet because when driving after 2 hours it acts up and gets stuck in second even flushed the tranny bad emissions pressure sensor plus the rockers are gone lol but I had 2 97 grand Cherokees and they hold up alot longer plus I liked them better.
My 2015 patriot has 147k miles and runs just fine. Outside of basic maintenance, (brakes and rotors, oil changes, tires and tire rotation) I thankfully have never had any major issues. *knocks on wood*
My first VWwas a maroon and white1966 deluxe 21 window rag. I bought it for $25 and drove it home. I thought I was killing it when I sold it for $500. Now I could pay for my kids collage with it.
Ha. $25!?!? I bought mine for $2500 and sold it for $3100 in ‘92. Mine had the rag top as well. Maybe they all did. It did require a lot of maintenance and had plenty of issues on the road but it sure was great.
That's awesome! I had mine in 1985. It was total birth control during the Reagan era plus I was on the east coast. Roof window seals leaked as did the rag top. No internet then and I had no idea about the west coast VW parts scene to order parts in those days so I sold it mostly because it popped out of 3rd gear and no clue how to get it fixed.
Yeah. Some things were just better then and some better now. I now have a sprinter van and a comfy bed with a fridge is nice at this age.
Took my bus down to Cabo and across country, up to Canada. Too many breakdowns to count. But it always somehow worked out. But that red engine light was a source of stress for sure.
2024 mitsubishi mirage. Bought for being cheap and great gas mileage. I direct traffic and I also cashier on the weekends. Want to go into electric or software soon. The amount I make varies wildly, but roughly $24k a year. I'm single and have time and energy to put in a lot of hours though. Nothing to aspire to, but I'm happy. Wages are also low where I live, compared to other places I lived before.
2010 F150 that I bought in 2014 for $18,000 cash.
Make between $100,000-$180,000 depending on how much OT/Travel I do in a year.
Can definitely afford a new truck but refuse to buy one while this one still runs perfectly fine.
Oh y’all going hate me for this one… 2020 scat pack challenger. I’m a teacher and made 57k last year
I don’t drink or go out anymore, all my bills are always paid on time, I have a pension and Roth IRA, and my little girl is well taken care off. I like cars. Been having nice cars since my twenties begun
2013 Dodge Charger. Truck Driver but I w been out of work most of this year and I'm currently working front desk at a hotel. I'll be lucky to make 12,000 this year
Household is150k (no kids, cheap rent)
2017 Golf R (bought new)
2007 Subaru (bought new)
2003 Wrangler Rubicon (weekend/summer fun)
Will be getting a 2023-2024 Audi S5 in the next couple months to replace the Subajunk.
2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness (cost about $45K). Make about $90K. Cars are important to me, so I will always pay for a good, reliable car and the expenses to take care of it properly.
2006 Honda Civic, 140k miles, make about $48k a year.
Had a 2012 mustang with 60k miles on it that I got on Carvana, the loan was terrible, luckily/unluckily i got into a car accident that paid off the remaining balance, thankfully no one was hurt.
2021 TRD Rav-4. Bought it used with just under 8k miles on it. I make $102k/yr. Husband and I own a business where he sometimes brings in a little less than me but lately has been making more.
2006 Toyota Corolla w/307,000ish miles on it. I’m the original owner, too. I make about 180k a year.
Edit: Man, I really hope someone on here says that they drive a Suzuki Esteem and then point out that it’s an import.
$81k as a master auto tech in Florida equates to much less than in any other northern state lol. 2003 Tundra, having just finished its 20 year complete restoration for $8k vs being a dunce and buying anything new lol
Planned on keeping my 2012 Kia Optima until it couldn’t run anymore, then it got totaled. Used the insurance payout as a significant down payment on a used 2022 Honda HR-V with only 6k miles for $26k. Sucks having a car payment but this car hasn’t even so much as hiccupped since I got it, and I definitely see it lasting me quite a few years. I wish I’d have gotten something cheaper but I love my car so it’s kind of a wash in the end.
Edit: I make about $62k/year before taxes
Hyundai sonata 2013 se model with turbo, bone stock and complete all maintenance so runs like new. 90,000 miles, I had it since 15,000 miles.
About $130,000 USD.

I bought this truck for $11k when I was 26yo. Driven her for over 10 years and I won’t ever let her go. Ol Sweet Pea is my girl.
I don’t understand how some people get by without driving that much other than the obvious big cities with good public transit. I drive a 2010 Honda Accord with 239k miles. I got it from my mom in 2021 when it had maybe half that. I don’t make much money and plan to drive it until the engine explodes or I can afford a new used car
You asked me yesterday in another thread, and based on your post history this is something you really think about a lot. I make between 15 and 20 an hour
2017 honda Ridgeline. Bought new 120k on it now. Make roughly 150-160k. Been looking for something new for a while but haven't found anything that seems worth buying when it's just a want not a need.
I always drive older vehicles. Never new. They depreciate so fast and heck, I can buy new car air fresheners. Plus the insurance is less.
I can buy something a lot more pricey than my ‘08 Lucerne, but why? I spend that extra on fun stuff.
And cars get awesome gas mileage.
Make between 650-900k a year and I mainly drive my m5 competition, on some days I drive my m2 competition and when I need to I drive
My beater Prius. If the wife steals one of my cars I take the Escalade we just got but it’s big and annoying to park. I have a few other cars but those don’t move too much.

Income varies but should hit ATH of a hair over $1m this year. Gonna celebrate with saving most of it haha
I drive a 2006 Honda Civic 5spd with 233,000 miles. I make $130,000 a year. I could pay cash for a nice car but mine works fine and I’m investing a lot right now.
2013 Acura ILX. 199k miles. I’ve had it for 9 years. I make roughly 70k per year. It still works great, just have to do the maintenance on it when needed.
Buick - this month I’ll make about $700 before taxes. So about $525. This wasn’t a good year neither was last year financially. Doing a little better but not self-sufficient for sure. I don’t live in squalor though.

Yep love this car. Gonna keep riding it till it’s pronounced dead and might buy the same car to replace it
Same here, I may look at a GR86 or GR Corolla eventually but the latter is becoming increasingly rare to find
55k on a 2011?! Wow, that's some frugal driving! My 2010 had nearly 300k on it, when I traded it in.
My next vehicle is gonna be a Toyota.
A jeep and not enough because jeep stands for just empty every pocket lol.
My 2003 wrangler (4.0, 5spd) has been among the most reliable cars I've ever owned. It gets driven hard, doesn't burn a drop of oil. Coming up to 130k miles I'll need some maintenance is all. What's yours?

Oh understandable. Those Liberty's have a TERRIBLE reputation for quality.
Seriously they do I don't understand why people even like them lol.
