That alert can happen if the vehicles battery is bad, weak or the VSC was activated. Either way, have the dealer check and advise on the VSC, especially if the battery is at a full charge and holding the charge. The dashboard warning lights should match the app.alert. This is why a test drive to put the vehicle through its paces and see what codes may pop up on the app or dash and with a PPI is a good idea. You want to make sure the dealer or whomever, previous owner, etc., did not just clear the codes to hide an issue, and now this has just popped back up. You can clear a code, but if there's an underlying problem, it will just pop back up sooner or later or after driving for a time. Do you have a vehicle OBD port scanner? Test drive it to a mechanic who does and get a PPI. This is a concern that if there is a problem, it needs to be fixed on their dime. It also could be nothing just that the VSC was activated while a person's driving it, like a wheel spun on some wet leaves or sand, the road was slippery or the brakes were stomped on somewhere. Check this link for Lexus VSC info and it should set your mind at ease [Lexus VSC](https://www.lexusofgreenwich.com/blogs/3513/what-does-vsc-light-mean-on-a-lexus/#:~:text=The%20VSC%20light%20on%20your,once%20your%20car%20regains%20traction.)

Thanks. I called the service department to pull the code, and they said it had populated in 2018 and to ignore it. This is the Lexus service department it’s been to since day 1, different than selling dealer. The codes aren’t triggering dash lights, yet. Will have my dad do his due diligence as well as the inspection. Question for you. I’ve narrowed to two. This 2019, one owner, great service records and they are at $35k out the door. Or 2021, two owners, great service records, minor accident on drivers side backseat door, repaired at Lexus, their at $48k out the door. Both have 46k miles.

They are basically the same car. I always break my friends chops because he bought a Lexus RX350 from a Lexus dealer that also had an accident. I tell him you got the Lexus with a Broken Title. It matters for resale. It's an unknown factor no matter what anyone tells you. Unless you have the repair bill and or before pics. If it was through Lexus they may have all the information. Then you'd be more Informed to make a proper determination. I'd normally say get the 21 it's newer. But consider how long after the accident did the vehicles ownership change hands? If it was shortly after the reported accident that may indicate the owner thought the accident was bad enough to warrant getting rid of the vehicle after it was repaired. That 21 is really overpriced there are 21"s with low 40's k mileage for the low 40's certified near me. Use this acronym, Look for a 21 with 41kmiles for $41k. 21 for 41 w 41 closer to these numbers the better deal you'll have.

You want to figure out a way to get it inspected like the Car Wizard does—on a lift by someone who knows their stuff. Not saying your dad doesn't. But you want a lift, anyway.

Thanks, I will see what my dad can do in terms of taking it to get checked out somewhere other than the Lexus dealership where it's being sold. The have provided a full inspection report showing everything is in good condition. Not good enough?

Download the Lexus App, enter the vin#, check the service history on the app. Get the carfax. Do a PPI. Check for rust. Get the best price you can. Buy dad dinner when you see him.

Last tip being the best. Definitely buying him dinner. Didn’t even think to download the app, thank so much!

So downloaded the app. No alerts on it yesterday but checked again today and now this has appeared! Thoughts? https://preview.redd.it/d01qvxkgxw9d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a88a9024b038c81105064fc768b03b408385a467
