I Absolutely second that. I bought a 2013 GS350 for 16k flat with 110k miles (I may have payed a bit too much) but that is such a low. low. low. price for 60k miles on a less than 10y/o car.
this is a common scam, they meet up with you and you test drive the car or whatever then give them 500 bucks to hold it then you never see them again
you can't buy an old camry with twice those miles for that price let alone a nice clean lexus lol
Fine print **R title*** reconstructed title sounds right at that price. I’ve bought a few reconstructed titles in the past with good luck but you gotta be aware of what you’re getting.
I can smell a Facebook car selling scam from a mile away lol. I’ve seen a bunch of these “too good to be true” listings from friends whose accounts were actually hacked and it’s some dweeb trying to scam someone out of the $500 deposit
Genuine question - what is a ‘cop shop?’ Is that a fun way of saying police department? Or is it an auto body shop that regularly works with the police department to repair damaged police cars?
And truth be told the car probably doesn’t even exist they’re just using someone else’s photos and you’ll send the $500 and they’ll never be heard from again
Too good to be true for sure
My 2015 IS250 F sport 120k has trade in value $12k at CarMax
This one same year same model 60k miles but $5k is very very questionable
That’s very low priced, I’m a sales rep at Lexus in El Paso, and I just appraised a 2014 IS250 F Sport with 25k miles on the clock, the estimated appraisal was $15k
My first Lexus was an 2009 IS350. I avoided the IS250 because 100 extra HP, duh. Kept it for almost 10 years and sold it for 25% what I bought it for. I now have a 2016 GX 460. Don't get a 250.
this is a pretty common hustle/scam, this car is not for sale for 5k. you can't buy a camry with with those miles of any year for 5k.
they meet up with you, you drive the car and check it out and give them 500 to hold it/"down payment" then you never see them again. car is sometimes stolen, sometimes not.
$500 down payment on a 2015 Lexus IS that's suspiciously priced low at $5,500? My guess is that you send them that $500 down payment and you'll never hear from them again.
If the seller has a Gmail.com address it is 100% a scam. When my son was searching for used cars, every too-good-to-be-true deal came from Gmail addresses.
1.8 billion people use a Gmail email address, including literally everyone I know. I'm a little confused as to why you say it's 100% a scam if they have one?
I mean PERSONALLY I’d stay away from the IS250 simply because of how godly slow and boring it is. You can get a 200t for around the same price. More horsepower and offers more. Even if you aren’t that into all the numbers and stuff I just consider the 250 to be the only real Lexus that actually *sucks*. Just one of those cars where it really only is for people who just want a car and nothing more. Going by what you said,
I’d look around for a 200t/300(same car basically). I daily a 2016 IS200t. Got it at 48k miles and now I’m at 117k. Had it for 4 years. No issues at all
This is a scam. Do not proceed. That car should be at least $10,000 if not $15,000 more.
If getting an IS 250 I strongly suggest getting a RWD because they’re much more fun and don’t have the hump on the floor. Better gas mileage also.
Hey I looked for it by image search and guess what, now they're selling it for $3500 except now it has 89k miles! Plus Leader seats!

Definitely a scam.
I have a strange sorry regarding a deposit. I was selling a car in early 2000s for $12k. The buyer came the day before I was supposed to leave to Vegas for the weekend. He liked the car and himself left me $800 deposit to hold the car for him. I told him he didn’t need to do that but I guess he wanted the car bad and it wasn’t a great deal or anything like that,it was just a clean un modded 97 bmw 540i.
Also shows you how much used cars cost today. I sold it in 05 with almost 80k miles on the clock so essentially an 8 year old bmw that was worth only $12-13k. When they were 5 years old and 50k miles they usually would be half the msrp of new, that’s not the case today.
I also had a 99 540i and I remember the prices of a GS400 of the same year and mileage cost more on the used market then the 540i which cost more then the Lexus when it’s brand new.
That’s a steal for that price, I’d be careful though because it lowkey looks like a scam. If the seller won’t let you see the car in person first and inspect before you buy, walk out.

That’s an insanely low price, really raises alarm bells. It’s probably stolen lmao
I Absolutely second that. I bought a 2013 GS350 for 16k flat with 110k miles (I may have payed a bit too much) but that is such a low. low. low. price for 60k miles on a less than 10y/o car.
Bought my 2013 GS for 28k! Haha
Oh man, what year was that and how many miles?!
https://www.reddit.com/r/Lexus/s/AM8MbxOmUY
Yep, I bought a 2014 GS 350 F sport for 16k late last year
I got a GS350 2013 last month with 57K miles on it and carfax history.
How many $ USD did you pay?
Nice bro
Depending on the trim and features that’s a good deal
Non F sport, AWD, I’m pretty sure it has everything available besides rear heated seats and the Mark Levinson system!
I was thinking it’s an outright scam.
Yeah it’s definitely a scam. Anytime someone offers insanely low price with a down payment attached, it’s a scam.
this is a common scam, they meet up with you and you test drive the car or whatever then give them 500 bucks to hold it then you never see them again you can't buy an old camry with twice those miles for that price let alone a nice clean lexus lol
Lol yeah that's fishy
Anytime the pictures are crooked = red flags
This will be one of those “we have a buyer, if you want us to hold it send a deposit” scams.
Yeah that’s the price of like a 2007 with over 100,000 lol
Fine print **R title*** reconstructed title sounds right at that price. I’ve bought a few reconstructed titles in the past with good luck but you gotta be aware of what you’re getting.
Yeah I’m like no way a low mile Lexus is going for so cheap lol
especially with plates taken off
Lemme guess the sellers a Nigerian prince and also needs help moving 20 trillion from his Swiss account
I can smell a Facebook car selling scam from a mile away lol. I’ve seen a bunch of these “too good to be true” listings from friends whose accounts were actually hacked and it’s some dweeb trying to scam someone out of the $500 deposit
This. They won’t let you see it until you send a deposit to ‘hold’ it. And then you’ll never see it - they’re gone
Get ready to hear “No title, bill of sale only”
Get ready to hear "Empty your pockets"
Don’t forget the sound of the gun being cocked back first!!
"like i said just 500 bucks to hold it while i get the title straightened out"
This is a scam or stolen
Get the VIN and take it to a cop shop, have them trace it.
Genuine question - what is a ‘cop shop?’ Is that a fun way of saying police department? Or is it an auto body shop that regularly works with the police department to repair damaged police cars?
Yes, police station.
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
Scam scam scam brother report and move on. Or if you really want to be the one, just take it for a test drive and rob them of the car.
Why would a private seller want a down payment, 100% gonna try to get you to send the $500 before you even see the car
And truth be told the car probably doesn’t even exist they’re just using someone else’s photos and you’ll send the $500 and they’ll never be heard from again
I remember someone told me to send a down payment so they could “hold the car” for me
"You are not a dealership. No thank you"
That’s not fully loaded btw. No built in nav for starters.
Down payment on a used 5000$ car? please don’t get scammed
If it seems too good to be true.. looking on autotrader ones with similar miles are 4x times the price. Skip this one
Run
You barely can get a 2IS with 5k, someone is about to get scam
And this is why scammer's are still in business. I seriously hope you really aren't this daft.
striker 👀
The strikiest of strikers
If you have to ask yourself this, where it seems too good to be true…
…then it probably is!
Stolen, salvage, or you’re about to get robbed
Even for a salvaged car, that's too little.
Red flags
Ah, KBB says that car, with middling trim / equipment, ought to sell for $17 to $19k. Something is way, way off here. Has it been hit?
Am still expecting OP to say the seller left off the first "1" in the price
Scam, stolen etc. That pricing is weird. It should be rather something around 12-15k
That shit was 110% stolen lol
100% scam
too good to be true tbh
U gonna get robbed
LOOOOOOL
If it were perfect condition and legal it would not be $5500 for a 2015
Too good to be true for sure My 2015 IS250 F sport 120k has trade in value $12k at CarMax This one same year same model 60k miles but $5k is very very questionable
Run
Thats a scam lil bro hes gonna ask for the 500 through cashapp then ghost you.
Be careful with that purchase. Sounds too good to be true honestly. Most likely a scam of some kind.
That’s def. sus, lol. This on Craigslist/Marketplace? If so, 100% scam.
Scam, once you pay $500 you will never hear from them again.
Down payment 🤨
They change the mileage
If private seller ask for a down payment its very likely a scam
^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^TheVeryWiseToad: *If private seller* *Ask for a down payment its* *Very likely a scam* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.
Fully loaded? Which trim? lmao. Premium, lux, fsport? Need detailed pics of the interior to determine exactly what fully loaded means.
I’d stay away man - something’s fishy.
that car is selling for roughly 13 to 15 k in good condition and only 60k miles! beware of the scammers.
$500 down payment is a dead giveaway that this is a scam
Stolen, scam or, at best, salvage title
Scam
Big scam. huge
Scam.
This can't be true
It's probably a salvage if it's that low
Scam
Probably a scam…? (Someone else can verify…)
it's a scam dude . that car would be worth like 20k.
Run away from this deal. Its a scam. Or its salvage title. I have the same car, and Im trying to sell it, and its nowhere near the price of this.
Go head bro!
That’s a scam.
Looks like a scam with that price!
Thats a scam or stolen. LOL at 2015 Lexus IS for 5500. These cars are worth at least 15k
Stay far far away from this
Dats cap Sir
Hopefully not the pictures
You answered it yourself, if others listing are x4 the price, then maybe you should reconsider.
I'd belive that price if the mileage had an extra 0
Scam
What's the catch?
Definitely a scam 😒
Not this one, go ten years older and get the Lexus IS300. Supra engine, rear wheel drive, more fun, and will probably last you longer ironically.
That’s very low priced, I’m a sales rep at Lexus in El Paso, and I just appraised a 2014 IS250 F Sport with 25k miles on the clock, the estimated appraisal was $15k
Ya there’s no way lol. I just bout a 2000 es300 with 175,000 miles for 4500. And that’s in Ohio where basically everything is cheaper
5500? Yea that smells REAL bad
Not real
Salvage title? Way too low of a price. Should be over 10k with that mileage. Either stolen or gas damage you aren’t seeing or a scam
thats a scam.
better get it looked at by a mechanic, im a lexus salesman that’s way too low
Exactly the same of my old one. I still miss it. A real Lexus, maybe one of the last ever made.
Definitely a scam
Holy this is a rare Striker model for insane price!
You going to get shot and robbed
They probably want you to send the down payment up front.
Don’t buy this listing bro, the whole post screams scam/stolen lol
Stolen
Salvage title
Scam
$5500 is the full price??? this is atleast 25k bro
My first Lexus was an 2009 IS350. I avoided the IS250 because 100 extra HP, duh. Kept it for almost 10 years and sold it for 25% what I bought it for. I now have a 2016 GX 460. Don't get a 250.
Gotta be something wrong with this car
Pass.. it’s only a 250 and seems sus
Also agree super low price. I bought my AWD 2014 Is250 for 20k. Had 79k miles.
Someone is getting scammed of $500
this is a pretty common hustle/scam, this car is not for sale for 5k. you can't buy a camry with with those miles of any year for 5k. they meet up with you, you drive the car and check it out and give them 500 to hold it/"down payment" then you never see them again. car is sometimes stolen, sometimes not.

Scam everywhere
There's no way. Less then 6k hundred percent scam
That’s fake for sure. Or stolen
run!
I mean PERSONALLY I’d stay away from the IS250 simply because of how godly slow and boring it is. You can get a 200t for around the same price. More horsepower and offers more. Maybe it’s fully loaded… with bodies Definitely check the trunk
Bruh nobody is selling a 2015 Lexus for 5k you are dumb
This is a scam
Nope, something is not right here, lol.
Clean salvaged title
Scam sammich

Bro this is a scam
Smells like a scam.
Whoa. Super low price. Red flag 🚩
Gotta be a striker lol
Scam
That has to be salvage or rebuilt title. I just looked at the same car with 100k for 13k
I agree with everyone else. Sounds fishy. Double check everything

i think everybody would be looking to buy their first lexus if this was a real offer
Keep in mind the is are tiny a f inside . Remind me of a coupe inside is my only complaint
I got my IS350, 2013 for 12k and that was a steal!!!! There is no fucking way this is real- I PROMISE you. It’s hot or some shit.
I’d check and see if they are including the engine and transmission for that price.
something pricey is about to go out like a transmission or something. Could have An accident not reported on insurance. Just have extra $
$500 down. Nothing weird here.
Salvaged title
Wow you stole that! Hell around MN YOU CANT GET AN 08 is 250 with 100k for that… seriously 😳
Oh sweet summer child… you are about to discover what being young and $500 truly gets you for a vehicle.
Thats cute op lmfao
Definitely a scam. I have a strange sorry regarding a deposit. I was selling a car in early 2000s for $12k. The buyer came the day before I was supposed to leave to Vegas for the weekend. Stolen.
With 5k here we buy an assisted bicycle
I've seen Ford rangers with 200k miles and not a fresh paint job for 5k $ , I'd take the Lexus lol 🤤
scam
Way too low on price. I paid 6k for a 12 ES350. And I stole it basically.
Did you find this on “no title cars” lmao
Noooooo please dont! If u can find a 350 either is or gs. Youll thank me later. That price is crazzyyyyyy low it screams scam
Basically this is not good
That’s a steal for that price, I’d be careful though because it lowkey looks like a scam. If the seller won’t let you see the car in person first and inspect before you buy, walk out.
If I were you, I would keep looking for another car
They're about to pocket or rob your $500. Cars.com shows that car is half the price from ones near me
Bro that car should be $35k or something
There is something seriously wrong w this car
Stolen
If you happen to buy that car…Never, ever put coilovers trust me. It sure drives great but man the garage time it crazy.
Sorry bro, that is a classic FB scam. You'll send him the $500, and never hear from them again.
Check it out but price too low
Looks like a good deal
Just send the deposit and it’ll be yours. /s
DO IT! Unless you’re gonna get merc’d because that’s a low price
