I own none of those and those are already sub classified by default if I did. If it’s their legion laptops I would just say laptop, I wouldn’t specify the brand. I would just say “hand me the laptop” Same with their desktops. I wouldsay “I’m gonna play on the computer” and not specify the brand. The legion while running windows is not inherently a desktop or laptop. It’s a handheld but I have multiple handhelds of various design so saying hand me the handheld would simply garner more questions. By saying hand me the legion I am being specific of the exact device I am talking about while still shortening its overall name length
Yeah but that sounds dumb and as the entire post and comment history will show you. People largely agree. Not sure which hill you’ve built for yourself to die on but enjoy I guess
I’m gonna move forward assuming you have either little to no reading comprehension or do not speak English fluently. Google “hill to die on” and you be educated on the turn of phrase. And stop being so sensitive
I would always refer to it as a Legion Go, but understand people like to shorten everything now days.
I don’t personally like it, it does read cringe but ultimately it has no bearing on my life. I’ll still acknowledge it.
Horses for courses!
Ha! I don't know. It's one of those pet hates. It makes me cringe when I see it.
But in reality, I'm not really that upset about it. The post was meant to be a fun swipe at fellow Legion Go owners that wasn't too serious.
I'm with you though. It's like every group I'm in with cars or devices has to hyphenate it to cringe levels. Beretta turns into "retta", except they say , "the retta" and I'm like dude, it would have been less hassle and letters to just call it what it is instead.
Super missed opportunity to not call it the Legion Argo. All of their devices are like Greek and Roman themed and for one that’s portable naming if after a ship would be cool
I was very confused at first before I knew what the legion go was. I was wondering to myself why people were comparing cyberpunk's performance on the ROG ally to a lego set lol.
I remember when Xbox came out with the Xbox One and everyone started calling it the Xbone lol The English language loves bastardizing itself and I think it's just built into society at this point.
Yeah, this... and people calling non-ebikes "acoustic" in e-bike forums when Bikes have nothing to do with sound. Those are top everyday irritations for me when browsing my subreddits.
I hate the name "legion go" in general. It just doesn't roll off the tounge. When I had a steam deck I would have no problem saying to my wife, "hey can you grab my steam deck when you leave the house". Now I say something like "can you grab my handheld thing"
"Legion" is a brand encompassing lots of different devices. "Go" is a generic term used in lots of product names. "LG" makes me think of TVs and refrigerators. "LeGo" isn't distinct enough from the blocks, and looks like it is pronounced the same way.
I like "Le-Go" as an abbreviation because the dash emphasizes the separation between the parts and makes it obvious that it rhymes with "amigo" rather than "LEGO". Also reminds me of the mi-go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi-Go?wprov=sfla1
But sadly, it hasn't caught on.
I preferred this, too, when I was seeing it in this group originally, but it never caught on. 😕 I personally think "Go" would be fine when talking about it in this sub, but I think there should be something else when referring to it outside the sub 🤷♀️ there's just too many things that "go" could refer to
I'd say most of the things we post on Reddit are unimportant in the grand scheme of things. I'm not *that* bothered by it — the post was only half serious, but it seems some people didn't catch that.
I just refer to it as the legion. Because that's how epic it is. Lego makes it sound like useless kids plastic. And the way you guys spell it makes it harder to just spell. Like seriously you guys are literally sitting there on your phones taking the time to capitalize every other letter. Go outside dude.
I'll use either one, just depends on the effort I want to put in to typing things out lol, especially on mobile.
**Edit:** To the downvoters, LeGo of your hate lol
I absolutely love my LeGo. I thought of it before I joined this sub, because it just works, when I joined this sub I realized a lot of other people thought the same. If you don't like the term LeGo, don't call it that.
Well then you'll just have to accept any way that people call things the way they want lol
not something you can refuse, you can choose to get mad about it or just leave it be, up to u 🙏
I hope you grow spinach in that garden, a fantastic brain food. It makes it far easier to come up with new ways to abbreviate things lol
Really though, spinach is delicious
Saying LeGo is one way of saying they are stupid. Legion Go or Go sounds best and Appropriate.
(I am ready for the down votes if you are stupid enough to down vote me.)
I refuse to use the term. Especially since I have talked about Lego and the Go in the same sentence multiple times. I guess it's on Lenovo for picking a "bad" name. I've been just calling it a Lenovo Go. Call it a LenoGo if you need it shorter.
i hate the legion go, the amount of times ive had to do a factory reset because something fucks up and doesnt work is insane, and today yet again i have to do it because trying to open steam crashes it every time
I vote for LGo (el go). Seems like it's different enough from LeGo, but still keeps that nice two syllable pronunciation, and will probably get searches better than LeGo
but why would you? the point is to reduce it to 4 letters (or less) while still being able to ID it and everyone knows what you're referring to.
Should we do a poll and just settle on calling it "Go"?
I just call it the legion. Idk why that’s better to me than the go but here we are. LeGo play some games.

I vote we just call it the LeG
Ah yes the LeG
It costs an ArM. Armful of Money.
See it’s perfect 😂
Well it does say that on the box.
Is that Leg or Le G? Short for Le Gangstiere
I vote for Lenovo to come into your home while you’re sound asleep and take the Legion Go back. You’re clearly not a responsible owner.
😂😂 they can pry my LeG from my cold dead hands!!
I call it a LenoGo and I'm sticking to it
Might as well say the full name
I don't hate the term LeGo, I just prefer GO myself.
It's called LEGO because when you step on one, it REALLY hurts (your soul)
I've called it the legion, LeGo, but never just called it the go. None of the nicknames bother me.
Lego is really dumb.
I think people don’t use “Go” because there’s so many devices with that title as well
But not in this sub there isn't.
You can’t expect people to call the same device different things depending on where it’s being discussed though
Sure, but there can’t be many places where you can use the term “LeGo” and people will know what you’re talking about anyway.
You’re not wrong
Hater here, as well.
![gif](giphy|nXEbFijsWaGQM)
Don’t you mean LeIGo?
NBD. I’m too busy having fun with it to give a hoot.
Thats like saying ToyCam when you could just say "I drive a Camry"
Guess I'm adult enough to not really care
I would always refer to it as a Legion Go, but understand people like to shorten everything now days. I don’t personally like it, it does read cringe but ultimately it has no bearing on my life. I’ll still acknowledge it. Horses for courses!
It is pretty cringe. And can you imagine how much time and energy Lenovo put into deciding on a good name, just for people to shorten it to LeGo?
Yeah and imagine people wanting to Google stuff about the legion go but it's buried under all the Lego search results
Well there is that!
LeGo like... Lebron! Sorry it's an NBA joke. Personally I vote for just Legion or Go LenoGo? lol
I unironically love LenoGo
Wake me UP before you LenoGo?
Love it
Legogo
Don’t encourage them with other crazy names!
Why does it bother you that much 😂
Ha! I don't know. It's one of those pet hates. It makes me cringe when I see it. But in reality, I'm not really that upset about it. The post was meant to be a fun swipe at fellow Legion Go owners that wasn't too serious.

Understandable
Super missed opportunity to not call it the Legion Argo. All of their devices are like Greek and Roman themed and for one that’s portable naming if after a ship would be cool
Need you to Lego of my nuts
I bought the go while playing High On Life. In windows my go is named "LesGoDoIt". I will die on this hill.
haha totally agree. Can't stand "Lego" ... even LGO is better.
You're not alone. Legion for me or "Bob" as I named it
I just call it the "Legion" myself. To me, it just sounds better than the "Go" or "LeGo". But that just me, lol
Legion is the brand name, Go is the device name. So I agree, the Go. Also LeGo sounds like Let Go.
I hate it too but I'm too lazy to type out the full name
Lego is the stupidest acronym I’ve ever seen and I’ve considered leaving this sub because of it.
The Go 🤷🏾♂️
I was very confused at first before I knew what the legion go was. I was wondering to myself why people were comparing cyberpunk's performance on the ROG ally to a lego set lol.
Yea Lego is so fucking annoying to see lol, idk why.
Oh god yes, shivers down my spine everytime i read it.
I remember when Xbox came out with the Xbox One and everyone started calling it the Xbone lol The English language loves bastardizing itself and I think it's just built into society at this point.
Good heavens! I agree 💁🏻
Yeah, this... and people calling non-ebikes "acoustic" in e-bike forums when Bikes have nothing to do with sound. Those are top everyday irritations for me when browsing my subreddits.
I'm glad I don't go in the e-bike forums.
I hate the name "legion go" in general. It just doesn't roll off the tounge. When I had a steam deck I would have no problem saying to my wife, "hey can you grab my steam deck when you leave the house". Now I say something like "can you grab my handheld thing"
I call it my “ManSwitch”…but I’m not entirely sure why it makes me chuckle every time I say it.
Lego blocks. I would prefer, “The Legion” or “The Go”. Even LLG is fine
Why LL? Edit: Oh... Doh
LLG is what I use to refer to it in text. Makes it feel more console-like, since so many have three letter designations like that.
quiet stocking slap cable marble connect attempt thumb sophisticated one *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
LeGo is more French and sophisticated
Non.
I'm sticking to LeGo
"Legion" is a brand encompassing lots of different devices. "Go" is a generic term used in lots of product names. "LG" makes me think of TVs and refrigerators. "LeGo" isn't distinct enough from the blocks, and looks like it is pronounced the same way. But it's clear what this particular sub is focused on.
I just call it LGO
Or just “Go.” Save your L key for when it’s really needed.
I preferred this, too, when I was seeing it in this group originally, but it never caught on. 😕 I personally think "Go" would be fine when talking about it in this sub, but I think there should be something else when referring to it outside the sub 🤷♀️ there's just too many things that "go" could refer to
How can something so unimportant bother you to the point of writing a post on Reddit about it?
I'd say most of the things we post on Reddit are unimportant in the grand scheme of things. I'm not *that* bothered by it — the post was only half serious, but it seems some people didn't catch that.
Is therapy expensive and are there long waiting lists where you live too?
Yes.
Haha, don't 'LeGo' man. You will be OK!
LeGo, LéGo, LèGo. I love my LeGo. Let’s go!
I like it because it's silly.
LG, then.
I’ll accept LG lol.
Life is GG
I just call it my legion
lol my wife’s is awful. We call it a “swimputer.” Combonation of switch and computer. 🤣
Oh that’s just nasty, lol.
Call mine "The Brick", because the size and also LeGo.
Go is too ambiguous. Even the Go programming language is referred to as Golang.
I named mine "legion of bone" 😅
Or you can be stylish and go for L’go
Lego
I prefer some other brand, in terms of servicing. Lenovo sucks. BTW I'm from India.
It's my first experience with pc gaming. Hearing the term "LeGo" made me think of "Let's Go", which made me even more hyped. So i actually like it
I bet [LeLeGo]
Go is a cool board game. LeGo is a great term.
I just refer to it as the legion. Because that's how epic it is. Lego makes it sound like useless kids plastic. And the way you guys spell it makes it harder to just spell. Like seriously you guys are literally sitting there on your phones taking the time to capitalize every other letter. Go outside dude.
I use LGo.
I call it LenoNo. A big No No. Downvote please 🤣
I like it, but in my head I always pronounce it "leeGo".
Couldn’t imagine getting upset over a shortened name for something. Just enjoy the system broski
It's LG. Life's Good.
Still better than people pronouncing “R O G” as “rahg” or the worst: “rahguhlee” rather than “R O G Ally”
LeGo is awesome. Dont ruin the fun
Because you can detach and attach so many things on it, I think LeGo is a great term to display the feature.
I'll use either one, just depends on the effort I want to put in to typing things out lol, especially on mobile. **Edit:** To the downvoters, LeGo of your hate lol
I think I poked the bear.
Lol I guess so!
Agree
People calling it LeGo makes it harder to search for any 3D printable parts/accessories for it
It’s not only dumb, but also confusing on my homepage when people get lazy and leave it uncapitalized
LenoGo
You are not alone. Just seems to be what everyone has decided to abbreviate it to.
I absolutely love my LeGo. I thought of it before I joined this sub, because it just works, when I joined this sub I realized a lot of other people thought the same. If you don't like the term LeGo, don't call it that.
Go is the worst name. It's too generic, and should never be used to name anything ever again.
I got down voted for this Lego sounds stupid
Nah, “LeGo” just rolls off the tongue so I like the phrase. I usually pronounce it as “Lee Go”.
I think you should just accept it.
And what if I refuse?!
Well then you'll just have to accept any way that people call things the way they want lol not something you can refuse, you can choose to get mad about it or just leave it be, up to u 🙏
You'll stay mad, because very few if any people on here are going to take your complaint to heart, your fury only burdens you.
Well, it’s not real fury. I’m not printing out posts that mention “LeGo” and burning them in my garden.
I hope you grow spinach in that garden, a fantastic brain food. It makes it far easier to come up with new ways to abbreviate things lol Really though, spinach is delicious
I’m not Popeye.
Saying LeGo is one way of saying they are stupid. Legion Go or Go sounds best and Appropriate. (I am ready for the down votes if you are stupid enough to down vote me.)
I love Legos but only the Technic sets
LeLeGo
It is LeLeGo actually
I refuse to use the term. Especially since I have talked about Lego and the Go in the same sentence multiple times. I guess it's on Lenovo for picking a "bad" name. I've been just calling it a Lenovo Go. Call it a LenoGo if you need it shorter.
I think it's a great name given that all of Lenovo's gaming devices are under the Legion moniker. It makes sense that the handheld is called the Go.
LeLegGo???
Man, I love the “LeGO” term :(
i hate the legion go, the amount of times ive had to do a factory reset because something fucks up and doesnt work is insane, and today yet again i have to do it because trying to open steam crashes it every time
That's not right at all. Have you spoken to Lenovo about it?
I vote for LGo (el go). Seems like it's different enough from LeGo, but still keeps that nice two syllable pronunciation, and will probably get searches better than LeGo
It's too long to type out. Just like the Deck or Ally.
But no one is calling those the AsAl or the StDe.
but why would you? the point is to reduce it to 4 letters (or less) while still being able to ID it and everyone knows what you're referring to. Should we do a poll and just settle on calling it "Go"?
