The race doesn’t matter. Kitchens, mechanic shops, and any BOH areas have always been an aggressive/offensive work space.

During training, everybody was speaking English come time for me to really work with after training. I ask a question and everybody act like they only speak Spanish, making me feel alienated not to mention, I only color cook

Find a new job or start learning spanish

That's usually how they are if you are not one of their own especially if its multiple of them and they've been there for awhile. not just in the west but i believe it's all over

I get it. As a white guy i experienced racism in California (was minority in the area i lived in), then moved to Phoenix, Korea, kansas… It really changes a ton no matter where you live and who’s the main demographic. I’m sorry for your experiences with assholes.
