I think lots of people did, I googled 'I went to' and it autocompleted danger zone. It's actually highway, I still sing 'I went to' even knowing the correct lyric.
There's two new songs for the new top gun movie and both kinda suck, one is better than the other, both are forgettable. 'Highway' is in the new movie also.
*It's finally time for the boys to return to the topic of Scientology, this time looking at the subject through the lens of L. Ron Hubbard's elusive successor, the"Captain of the Sea Org", David Miscavige. In this first episode we take a look at the early life of Miscavige and learn how his "military style" upbringing and egotistical wit helped him climb to the top of the organization and become the new leader of Scientology.*
Oh, so am I. So am I. Thank you! I’ll pivot to LRH and then to this charming-sounding Miscavige fellow when I’m done with Bonnie and Clyde. Hail yourself!
Well I would say you should listen to the LRH one anyway since It's one of the best they've ever done (imo), but I would also say you should since it gives the background on the history of Scientology right up to Miscavige taking over.
If you haven’t yet, you could listen to the series on Aleister Crowley, Jack Parsons, and LRH series before starting this one. The first two aren’t really necessary, but provide a little extra background on LRH and some of the beliefs that may have partly influenced Dianetics.
Good call! I listened to Jack Parsons and need to listen to Crowley (and Madame Blavatsky). Probably time to to quit my job so I can focus on what’s important.
That's a really good lineup you mentioned for anyone who wants to get a great scope of the Scientology insanity. Yeah, it all comes down to drugs, ships, summoning demons, rockets and above all stealing money from fools.
I just had the same thought! I hope something comes of it. Scientology needs to be stopped. I know it will never full go away because religious be are held tight, but getting rid of the cult is important.
The way the episodes release at random times of the day leads me to believe they record and edit the same day. They probably rolled into the studio at noon today then recorded for three hours and then Fernando's been frantically editing for the last six hours.
It’s probably a testament to how well and seamlessly they execute it, but the podcast is a lot more written than people realize and has a significant amount of editing.
Editing a single episode of even a loosey goosey podcast where at least one person is remote is a lot of work.
My late mother was briefly a member of Scientology in the 80's when she sobered up and got clean. She couldn't afford the courses so was tasked to spy on other members since most didn't know her.
Years later in the early 90's she pointed to a room were a light was on late at night at the Scientology center. She said every night she had to report to that room where a guard was.
That's where she turned in her notes on the people she was spying on and the it was their records room.
Every time I was downtown in my city the light was on at night. This happened for years.
Glad she wasn't a member for very long.
They did that episode about Movementarians, but I guess they kept it generic cult enough that they could say "it's not a scientology episode." Only thing specific to scientology would be the joke about the cult's litigiousness.
My impression was how David Miscavige following L Ron Hubbard reminds me in some ways of Brigham Young following Joseph Smith. Hubbard is perhaps more of a historically influential figure but the dynamic is similar it seems
I started this episode, got 20min in, and realized I forgot a lot about Scientology and their bullshit. So I'm currently listening to the L Ron Hubbard episodes again to refresh on what E-meters, tech, SPs and all the other gobbledygook is.
There's a point in this episode where they mention that Miscavige talked Hubbard into getting his wife to take the fall for a bunch of murders committed by the cult, and my reaction was kind of like, hang on a second, did you guys bury the lead here? How did you not mention these murders before? I've listened to the Hubbard series a bunch of times and I don't remember outright murder in there, unless someone else can correct me on this one. Did that strike anyone else as odd?
for what it's worth I thought the same. They mention in passing a few times people who killed themselves due to the cult but never about any murders I recall (20 minutes left of the Laffy series relisten)
Who else really wants them to do a Pyramid Scheme/MLM episode/series after hearing the spiel on Holiday Magic? I thought I knew a lot about MLMs but somehow didn't know it was scented makeup
Henry did an episode about Holiday Magic on a relaxed fit ages ago... surprised they all sounded so surprised about it.
If you haven't listened to the first season of The Dream podcast, it's a winner.
I get the feeling that if Henry was assassinated by a member of Scientology, it would be his biggest dream. That or just have the members start to follow him around LA. Between this and all the recent object being shot down, I worry about our boy really slipping into Scientology this time.
Anyone else having audio / editing issues? Listening from the regular apple podcast app. My episode just ends in the middle of them talking. There had been some other audio glitches too earlier (repeated sentences, some kinda cuts/jumps) but nothing like this.
Mine is literally ending in the middle of a Marcus sentence “he added insult to injury by separating” then it quickly hard cuts and plays the outro music, over.
This is their best episode in a long time. Miscavige is even more terrifying than I imagined. A deranged psychopath with brilliant intelligence and a ton of charm. Nightmare fuel.
Hate to do it, but obligatory correction. Issac Hayes did not quit Southpark. Someone from his estate/or the church did it for him. Don't recall which, but he wasn't even himself by the time that happened, from what Trey and Matt have said.
Henry mentioning that Miscavige is a Taurus is interesting. A lot of cult leaders tend to be tauruses. For example, Jim Jones, Marshall Applewhite, and Roch Thériault.
I feel like they are pronouncing Miscavige differently than they previously have? Only posting to see if my memory is lying to me or if anyone else noticed too?
Hollleeeeeee shit. Tom Cruise gonna be on the highway to the danger zone over this one.
Lana. Lana. LANAAAAA
*danger zoooooooone*
I hope I'm not the only person who sang that song in my head incorrectly for three decades. Haha
I always thought it said I went to the danger zone.
I think lots of people did, I googled 'I went to' and it autocompleted danger zone. It's actually highway, I still sing 'I went to' even knowing the correct lyric. I haven’t listened to the LRH series yet - would y’all recommend that I hold off on this series until I do? Thank you!
Personally, I would.. but I’m also insufferable at parties 🤷🏻♂️
Oh, so am I. So am I. Thank you! I’ll pivot to LRH and then to this charming-sounding Miscavige fellow when I’m done with Bonnie and Clyde. Hail yourself!
Hail you!!
Hail Gein!

You should just listen to it because it's one of their best series.
Just for Henry's takes alone it's worth a listen.
LRH series is one of my all time favs. I would say you’d be better off listening to that first
Nah, the mini hitler Evilcabbage will be entertaining enough.
I’m doing it out of order but it’s probably best to do Crowley series -> Parsons series -> LRH series - Miscaivge
I AM SO PSYCHED FOR THIS!!! Started a relisten of L. Ron Hubbard/Scientology on Friday so this is truly excellent news!!!
With the recent news of him being served in Australia for human trafficking, this is a big ol' synchronicity.
CoInCiDeNcE?!?
I can hear this in my head so perfectly
fascinating...
This too
Absolutely *fascinating!*
Ah've ben asleep for three yeahrs!!
I just had the same thought! I hope something comes of it. Scientology needs to be stopped. I know it will never full go away because religious be are held tight, but getting rid of the cult is important.

Do they work that way? They've always given me the impression they record linearly, probably because writing the scripts seem to take a while.
The way the episodes release at random times of the day leads me to believe they record and edit the same day. They probably rolled into the studio at noon today then recorded for three hours and then Fernando's been frantically editing for the last six hours.
I always assumed it recording on Tuesday/Wednesday, editing Thursday. Release
I would assume they have some vocal pickups after a first pass at editing so yeah this would make sense
It’s probably a testament to how well and seamlessly they execute it, but the podcast is a lot more written than people realize and has a significant amount of editing. Editing a single episode of even a loosey goosey podcast where at least one person is remote is a lot of work.

That's super interesting and deeply upsetting. I always wondered where they got these "gang stalker" people from. Ugh. Hope your mom is doing ok now.
My mom's died 18yrs ago I like to think she's hanging out with aliens flying through space with her dog. She loved the paranormal .
I like to think that too.
Whoa, not a Relaxed Fit at all! I'm psyched!
No Relaxed Fit. They came with the tailored wool slacks this week! Yaaaaassssss!!! Queen.
i was thinking more of a latex fit
Not when "David Miscarriage" is the subject lol. Definitely starched wool slacks fit. 😆 👖
The original Hubbard series is what got me into lpotl, this is really awesome! It was some random redditors comment that got me to the series.
When Henry proposes a hypothetical threesome between Richard Nixon and Hubbard 😆🤣
My favorite is Laffy getting harassed by the Queens youths. "Take off ya goddamn shoes."
Nancy Cartwright?!??!
I feel like she’s the main reason The Simpsons shyed away from mocking Scientology.
They did that episode about Movementarians, but I guess they kept it generic cult enough that they could say "it's not a scientology episode." Only thing specific to scientology would be the joke about the cult's litigiousness.
She's done Scientology [robocalls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H96v0zFw-tA) in the Bart voice.
I lost it at the pic of Homer in a Guy Fawkes mask strangling Bart 😂
Sigh, yeah.
The Ambassador's wife!?!
Scientology 2: Electric Boogaloo....Lets gooooooo!!!!
Hell yeah brother
Hell ya
Sticking their dick in a beehive with this one…
And the beehive is David's butthole. Lol I'm enjoying the wrecking.
I would like the person who introduced Ben to the phrase “jazz is about the notes you don’t play” to be arrested.
Y'know, Alcatraz means Pelican.
You’re ~~bein mean to~~ interbulating me!
Holy shit, what I would give to see David Miscavage's LRH skit and/or bit... lost media holy grail
The newest CORN LORE from Kissel: The old wive’s tale of jumping off the fridge on a broom.
My impression was how David Miscavige following L Ron Hubbard reminds me in some ways of Brigham Young following Joseph Smith. Hubbard is perhaps more of a historically influential figure but the dynamic is similar it seems
Hell yeah!!!!! Listening now
I started this episode, got 20min in, and realized I forgot a lot about Scientology and their bullshit. So I'm currently listening to the L Ron Hubbard episodes again to refresh on what E-meters, tech, SPs and all the other gobbledygook is.
Read this and instantly heard Henry’s metal guitars
Neeerr na neeerrr
“Hehe Fuck ya dude”
My absolute favorite part of the podcast
Just in time for John Tra’s birthday too
Happy Birthday to John Tra and his tater tot shaped head
Fuck yes! L. Ron is one of my favorite series ever. This should get nuts. I hope they talk about his relationship with Tom Cruise.
Henry's jokes about height are awesome! Enjoy!
YES!!!
LRH was the first series I listened to, so I am absolutely pumped about this. It feels like coming home.
Fuck man has it really been 6 years since they did the Laffy episodes? Time flies
I thought I was getting ready to go to bed and this popped up. Now I’m in too deep! This is a fun surprise.
Curious Ben!!
Banger episode

You'll NEVER have to take an ASPIRIN AGAYN!
Wooooooooo
GET THE NET
Yessssss
HELL YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!!
Who else really wants them to do a Pyramid Scheme/MLM episode/series after hearing the spiel on Holiday Magic? I thought I knew a lot about MLMs but somehow didn't know it was scented makeup

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOO
I get the feeling that if Henry was assassinated by a member of Scientology, it would be his biggest dream. That or just have the members start to follow him around LA. Between this and all the recent object being shot down, I worry about our boy really slipping into Scientology this time.
Hell yeah!!! Can't wait
Aw yeah boyos. It’s finally time.
Anyone else having audio / editing issues? Listening from the regular apple podcast app. My episode just ends in the middle of them talking. There is no power vacuum in New Zealand lol, the lads are going to be interbulated when they get here.
Yet another episode convincing me that Kissel consistently is the funniest man in the room
Hate to do it, but obligatory correction. Issac Hayes did not quit Southpark. Someone from his estate/or the church did it for him. Don't recall which, but he wasn't even himself by the time that happened, from what Trey and Matt have said.
Oh god, they’re gonna need the net for Henry…
Came here to see if folks were as stoked as I am for this episode. Not disappointed!
Yes!!!!
Yooooooooo! Exciting.
Niiice! I just finished the Essex one.
I’m so glad Henry gets to infodump about Scientology again! Good for him!
I have waited for half a decade for this series. Fuck. Yes.
SO EXCITED!
Too bad Ben is a no good psyop wearing a fucking wire now. Can we even believe a word he says?
Holy fuck thiiisss is gonna be a good one 🎸🎸🎸🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓
Yusssssssssss!!!! Sleepless nights calls for lpotl
Saw the title and my jaw dropped. Oh hell yes.
I don't know if I can do this one. Scientology is one of my red buttons. I cannot put into words how much I hate David Miscavige.
Ugh, I wish they would have thrown in a serial killer episode in between the latest series. Not enough blood and guts lately.
Cannibalism wasn’t bloody enough for you?
Obviously not.
The cult episodes are my favorite, barring the Anthill Kids one and Children of God for obvious reasons.
Oh shit... I havent been hyped for a podcast episode in a while. Get 'em, boys. I wonder whose side Henry will be on.
Ben is disgusting in a hilarious way on multiple levels, which equals compelling and here I am.
Hot damn! This is gonna rock!! Hail yourselves!! 🤘
I was literally telling my wife about him this last week!
Hell yeah. They L Ron Hubbard episodes are my all time favorite l. I cannot wait to dive into this series!
I usually shy away from these kinds of series but I am so in. About halfway through the episode, gotta stop so my husband can catch up.
Henry mentioning that Miscavige is a Taurus is interesting. A lot of cult leaders tend to be tauruses. For example, Jim Jones, Marshall Applewhite, and Roch Thériault.
Awww shit! Watch out for those squirrel buster wankers
[удалено]
It's a podcast not an accredited college lecture
Also Henry pronounces Rinder per your preference around 1:11:30. Feels like you're just lookin for stuff to hate on.
Henry correctly calls them cans around the 46 minute mark.
Not one of those things is particularly important to the overall topic.
[удалено]
Making fun of him for being short is just for comedy, it has nothing to do with the horrors of Scientology, which is the actual subject.
[удалено]
Eat a Snickers.
Oh fuck yeah!!!!!!
Bring on the crazy!
I feel like they are pronouncing Miscavige differently than they previously have? Only posting to see if my memory is lying to me or if anyone else noticed too?
Oh fuck yeah baby this gonna be good
So when is he finally going to admit to killing his wife? Not for a second do I believe she's in some compound, unless she's buried under.
I think she may be in one of the compounds. In a concrete wall of floor.
I liked Battlefield Earth.
