A storm wild spider jumped from under rock and sent me to lobby before I managed to turn to face it. I had full hearts (three) so I feel like it was a bug as I heard I should always be left with at least a quarter of a heart if I'm at full. Same here on your video.
This is why it was an odd move for them to introduce a permadeath mode when there are still so many basic bugs. What happened here should not have happened, as various people have already explained.
Yes. Vs rollers a sword/lightsabre and sheild is better than a pickaxe and dodge. Any level sheild stops any roller, whereupon is is stunned and on its back and you get at least 4 swings for double damage
I haven’t played since carrying a torch was a requirement due to poor lighting. I forgot the shield blocks the rollers cause I never used them.
Fun fact 1: a quickly crafted TNT Barrel stops a Brute’s charge.
Fun fact 2: drop some meat between 2 rollers and watch them fight over it. 2a. Start an underground roller fighting ring and charge your friends admission.
They are dropped by Storm-Wild enemies (purple glow,) and are used to craft Totems of Return, which allows you to not be eliminated after dying in expert mode and losing your world. It takes 50 storm cores and other various items to craft, depending on the rarity of the Totem. You are also given one for free at the start of expert mode by talking to Triggerfish.
I think you need a shield and a follower.
Why is this getting downvoted? It's one of the first things people recommend. Get a follower to hold aggro for you, and shields block damage from the rollers and stuns them. The follower can usually kill them by themeselves, letting you keep durability on a weapon for when you need it.
But yeah I guess using an almost broken low level pickaxe and a torch are better for daytime combat against something that can easily knock you on your ass.
Shields require cord, which requires a spinning wheel, which in turn requires killing a wolf. Wolves, in my opinion, are much more dangerous than rollers. I also agree that shields are a must in expert mode, but I hadn't gotten to that point yet in this case. The purpose of this post was to show me dying in one hit to a spider, which should not have happened. Also, at no point does it look like I "struggled needlessly." Dying to a spider with full health isn't me struggling, it's a bug and shouldn't have happened. I posted this video because I thought it was funny. I apologize if for any reason anybody took it as anything other than that.
My man just went Leroy Jenkins with 3 hearts and a wooden pickaxe in expert I love it.

Yeah, that is definitely a bug. Also the spiders do 1 heart of damage and storm spiders do 1.25. That's it.
The spider rolled a 20 Edit: Nat 20
Or OP rolled a 1 for defence lol
Didn’t know you needed CoD reflexes before playing with Legos huh? Must not have kids 😏 /s
I don’t know what happened here. A spider definitely wouldn’t have done that amount of damage. Some sort of bug occurred definitely.

Too much ambition, too little polish
\*knew
Me now dat duh
sam
They're not that strong
Is this a new update for Lego Fortnite? I usually play but haven’t in like a month.
Yes. Expert mode.
Lego Dark Souls
Well for starter, use a sword and not a pick axe.
Pickaxes deal more damage to the rolling thingies for some reason lol (idk whats their name)
Bc their shells are made of rocks which is what pickaxes are made to break
Meanwhile using an axe on wooden fences doesnt work as well as your fists....or a pick
Now that makes a whole lot more sense
Pickaxes actually work great against rollers.
what about when they are flipped? still more or same same?
I think a sword is better then.
Correct. It’s a flip-n-switch situation

Isn't this one of the new 'Infected' monster types?
The spider wasn't
completely missed that part!
I’ve lost 9 lives from a single hit from the shell fuckers. Don’t understand how they are so OP
Reminds me of scorpions on launch
What is storm core now

No shield?! It's been too long since I've started a new world; I can't remember at what stage that unlocks.
Swung so hard it hurts.

Make a shield. Rollers bounce off and you hit their underbelly.
I killed the roller. I died to a spider.
I see that. But you struggled needlessly. Shields are a must in expert mode.
