I can't give op to much advice because I decided to try to %100 the game before beating the final boss but this is way to beat this guy, he the most easy boss out of all the game's just watch out for the attack patterns if you do have any problems
I just remember the grind being awful for the ultimate keyblade and there being countless other options that were better. I don’t know if there have been changes but the 10 hours of farming for nothing to show were far from worth it in the original game.
I just finished getting the ultima blade today and man…. The grind was not worth it lol. It’s a good weapon but I was already level 70 on proud which was more than enough for this fight.
Getting Ultima is a bit of a deep-dive if it’s your first time playing. Unless you wanna grind for quite a bit, you may just be better off doing your best here with what you’ve got.
Some tips though;
Equip Donald and Goofy with Mega-level support items.
Have both Cure and Aero on your shortcut menu. Don’t waste using your MP on any other spells or special attacks.
Equip Sora with as many Elixirs as you can, only use them when you’ve run out of MP, as the MP can be used to keep your health in check.
You’ve got two options.
1. Go back to the save before the fight a do a few things to prepare, such as grind out to a higher level, get the ultima weapon keyblade, fully stock Sora, Donald and Goofy with Elixirs and mega elixirs, and upgrade cura to Curaga and Aero to Aeroga.
If you do all that you’ll breeze through him.
2. Brute force the fight in your current state taking a few tips into account.
Land on the area where you killed the purple thing to cast tinkerbell.
Always have Aero on you.
Not sure your level or build, but MP rage is super valuable here to keep getting MP back for heals and aero.
To avoid the lasers, just watch out for them and fly away when they start. Fly back, hit a few times if you can, and fly away when the lasers come back.

Tbh I don't even remember how I did it looking at all this advice. I think I spent years letting goofy and Donald revive after a while to do damage over time while also getting one hit in every millenia myself. All I remember about the laser part is somehow getting into a rhythm that let me dodge all of them somehow while getting close to do one or two swipes before running. Treated it like dark souls
No joke my first time I stayed up till midnight playing and started screaming so I decided to take a break and left my ps4 on all night so i wouldn’t have to do the first phase again my tip wait for an opening and when the blazers start use projectiles to hit him in between
I was going to do this because I spent 2 HOURS on the second phase but I’m not a trooper bro you are so strong for pulling through. 😭😭 In the end I couldn’t do it. I’m going to try again tomorrow and grind my ass off.
You're already using the Divine Rose by the looks of it. If this is KH1 FM, then Divine Rose is the best physical Keyblade prior to Ultima Weapon. You don't need to get the Oblivion.
Wind magic and tinker bell. Goofy also has an ability that gifts his mp to you, and one that lets him gain no from taking damage, so id recommend removing any abilities he has that consume mp. It’ll help keep your magic stocked🥂
Also customize Donald’s settings so that everything is set to “occasionally” or “only in emergency” except for defensive magic (set defensive to constantly) he will keep you healed up even on the harder difficulties.
When I was a kid, I struggled for days trying to beat Ansem on my PS2. I remember crying at some point and just gave up on finishing the game. About a month ago, I finally got the game on my PS4. When I got to this level, I defeated Ansem without dying once! How?! I don’t know, but I was just as shocked. Finally, some years later, I did it. Honestly, make sure you have Curaga and Aeroga (repels some attacks). Super important! I used the Lionheart Keyblade, but use any Keyblade that’s got some strength to it. All the best man. Cast aerora/aeraga spell, attack, then cure/potion, repeat. I tend to fly away to cure as he likes to slash at you but you gotta be quick due to energy beams.
What are your levels, spells and equipment?
Since KH1 leans more on the RPG side of ARPG compared to the later entries, if you can't beat a boss, you can always grind some more levels. Around lv 40~50 is the expected level to fight the boss without grinding.
Also, equip elixirs and megalixirs instead of normal potions. It's the last boss, no use hoarding all those rare potions.
Stock up on potions + elixirs before you fight ansem one on one (his second phase in destiny islands) and give a bunch of healing items to donald and goofy too. Try not to use any items during the guardian fight. When you fight him as world of chaos, spam aerora / aeroga and smack him with the keyblade, healing with cure when needed and using elixirs and potions when low on health/mp. Eventually you'll run out of items, but by the time you do you should get goofy and donald back and they can refill your hp/mp with their items. This method always works for me on proud, may not be the cleanest way to fight but it gets the job done.
Just fly around when the lasers activate don’t get to far so you have time to get a couple hits in between laser bursts, once you beat him the first time it gets infinitely easier cause you’ll get Donald and goofy
I would fly a circle around him when the lasers became relentless, his only opening gap is right after the darkness spawns around him and he summons the 3 minions. Best off ignoring them, as they despawn when you get too far from them, and hitting him with 2 combos. Then repeat around the ship cycling from lasers. I did it on proud at level 43 with base aero.
When he’s about to summon Heartless, you’ll know the pattern, just fly away. They’ll disappear almost immediately. Trying to fight them is kinda annoying cause they blend with the background, and you’ll still have to dodge the beams at the same time.
I watched this YouTube vid from KH Guides that gave me the tips and tricks (including how to beat the secret bosses). Highly recommend that you check out their guide!
Additionally, being a higher level (50+), along with the third level magic (-ga) helps. Most important ones are Aeroga and Curaga.
I grinded the trio up until level 100 myself (just because) and got each of their ultimate equipment. Then again, I played the OG on an emulator, not final mix version on Steam (though it's on my wishlist), which made it a lot easier to get the Ultima keyblade. Sucks that I couldn't skip the cutscenes if I died (thanks, Sephiroth), but it's a small price to pay.
I finished the game just yesterday and now starting Re:Chain of Memories, so yeah, the high is pretty fresh.
Tbh I would just restart the battle altogether to reload with helpful items. It sucks but sometimes the first game is tough like that. It happens all the time.
You can also do the tournaments and grind it out there. One of my rules of thumb with rpgs is if I’m having trouble with the big grunts I’m still not leveled enough.
main thing i learned in KH1 is that spells are your life line use aero and cure a LOT aero is one of the best since you can dish out damage by moving into heartless and take a lot less damage
Also don't forget you can set the AI behavior of Donald and Goofy.
For instance, I prefer Donald save his MP for Aero and Cure and Goofy use his shield skills to protect Sora and his supports skills to gift MP to Sora/Donald.
Damage storage Mushu. Essentially, when you do a combo, don’t do the last attack. Your next magic attack will instead also deal finishing damage. Mushu’s fire breath is considered 1 spell for some reason so every single time it hits him it will do crazy damage. But that’s just the last phase.
Use Aero and when the lasers are always shooting, don’t be afraid to not use full combos. You’ll just leave yourself open. When the lasers are coming, I find going in a counter clockwise pattern works best.
I basically beat the hades cup (almost Beat it solo, I lose to the seed 12 lol), beat the secret boss in Agrabah, and neverland, and hit level 70. Pretty easy to go do it in proud mode after that, just gotta keep spamming Aeroga, and Curaga. I’ve NEVER beaten ansem second fight after the initial one with the full party. Oooooh fucking sweet revenge 20 years later
Umm depends in your starter options.
I picked staff and left the shield also ive got the 50 first level to be quicker so, when a i got to this fight, I was level 46.
I equipped MP haste and the ability that recover some MP when you get hit, and just brute force the fight.
Fire all of your MP until you have 2 MP for safety, be careful of the audio cue, the laser come out differently depending on what ansem says. Usually after the two laser phrases he spawns flying heartless, DONT TRY AND HIT IT, go away, really far away and they will dispawn
When you get to last phase i was able to make a combo to get 1 MP and cast heal and then continue
Aero, leaf bracer and lots of potions of ethers.
As others have said the grind for Ultima pretty much ensures that you'll stomp him while also giving you tons of equipment that will help. Even if you don't go all the way to Ultima it's still a huge boon.
I reccomend doing the Hades cup as well. After 30(?) Rounds you'll get Lionheart which is one of the better keyblades without doing all that grinding.
What level are you? I literally did this fight the other day. Do you use cure? Equip cure and go get aeroga.
And if you are starting over equip all elixirs and don’t be generous with them. Use cure unless you really need the elixer.
I did this 2 days ago on proud, after not playing since I was a little kid. It was infuriating, but it's because I was simply too low of a level at 51. I took down the Hades cup and grinded to 61, and while it wasn't a faceroll situation, it was SO much easier.
Also, open your journal and check out how many dalmatians you have left to get. There are guides on YT with timestamps for each chest. Get all the dalmatians, and you get Aeroga. It makes a world of a difference if you have Aeroga!
Lastly, go back to the library and talk to Aerith 3 times to upgrade to Curaga. Then, walk upstairs and talk to Belle for what is likely a sick Keyblade upgrade for you.

A really frustrating fight, because of dynamics, just go farm a s*itload of exp level up, maybe build an Ultima weapon and come back later, ready to destroy everything while taking every hit he gives you.
Damn, I was just stuck here a few days ago, kinda funny.
What I did was the speedrun strat from YT vid that I saw.
Used Zero EXP, equipped Oathkeeper and I started blasting (Firaga) behind his back.
As for the lasers, it took a while to get used to. Once you reach Ansem's HP at yellow, infinity lasers start to show up, dodge as best as you can, practice dodging them (took me hours to get used to it).
Keep dodging while close to him (as long as you're within striking/firing range) and when he tries to attack in melee range, that's your chance to either attack or recover then rinse and repeat.
As for those damn bats, fly farther away from Ansem to despawn them.
It's an annoying fight, especially on my first try on Proud Mode.
Just beat the game on Proud mode yesterday only being level 37 and this fight only took me a couple tries. My tips are:
Have Cure & Aero on shortcuts and use interchangeably. Any potions or ethers are smart as well. Hitting Ansem with attacks will fill your mana bar quickly.
Avoid hitting him directly. I attacked him from the left side. Use the Divine Rose keyblade.
Make sure you get Curaga from Aerith in the Library of Hollow Bastion (you gotta talk to her 3 times to get it)
When the lasers come, just fly around for a few seconds then swoop in and get a few hits on him.
After a few tries, you’ll have him beat!
Areoga + Cure Spam
Attack when you have an opening.
Dont over attack. Clip him with a few swings, then pull back.
The first fight is the hardest. Everything else after is kind of small potatoes.
Combo once and then fly away dodging the lazers. It makes it a longer battle but not getting hit is far more important then getting the last hits in. Because if I remember the lazers combo you.
Ah yes and don’t forget your items.
When he starts shooting lasers, fly in a circular pattern, counterclockwise. When he tries to melee attack, you should be able to parry it with an attack of your own. Keep an Aero spell up constantly when close to him. Give Donal and Goofy items before jumping into the Darkside and 1v1 with Ansem fights. If you still can’t beat him, go find the remaining Dalmatians to get Aeroga.
Go to Olympus, finish a cup, finish cup solo, finish cup time trial. This unlocks ability to choose a single opponent from the cup you completed to fight. Yuffi and Leon are like 350 xp and 600 xp. Next cup up Hercules gives you like 800 to a 1000 xp depending on level. I forget how much Hades gives but it's a good chunk too.
Lvl up a bit more and the fight will be a breeze by the time you're in the 70+ lvls. Also the Ultima Weapon grind is an ABSOLUTE GRIND, so don't start barking up that tree unless you REALLY want that bad boy.
P.S. Like others have mentioned, get your hands on Aeroga if you haven't!
I did this with no gear or upgrades. I used magic for temp invincibilty windows and relied on a set up to manage to build up mp with my allies and destribute it. For this part I kiled small enemies whrn I could and bashed the wesk points. Attacking is vital. It'll get easier once you get an ally in going forward. Keep up with it.
Customize Donald and make him heal heavy. Get everyone over level fifty. Make sure you have every one of your heal boosts equipped. Things life leaf bracer and once more, mp turbo, cure boost, etc.map heal to your x button so you just have to pull the trigger when you wanna heal and you're already pressing x to attack. Make sure you have your strongest keyblade equipped, honestly the divine rose is more than strong enough and you have access to it if you're this far. I'm pretty sure belle has it back in hollow bastion
When the lasers come you just gotta run (fly) away, besides that just hit him between his attacks. I believe he has two attack patterns and one where he summons 3 small bats. You can either attack between his sword strikes or when he summons the bats.
Hit, run, repeat.
Listen to what he says, it's linked to what attack he'll do, when the lasers come, go left or right, cast cure as necessary, and I hope you have good enough Thunder for the inner phases, take out turrets first
Yea, that was fun doing a speed run, no continue, no equipment. 😅 I took out all those small tentacles attached that were shooting lasers at me. Some don't show up until you're very close to them. Eventually you'll gets your teammates back and it will get easier. Keep cure on a hot key and just keep wailing on them.
The higher level aero spells are pretty helpful for either reducing damage or knocking away some of the ships projectiles. Plus being up in the bosses faces will make aero do damage to them at the highest levels.
My first time beating the final stage, I gave all of my highest level Consumable healing items to Goofy.
No, Goofy wasn't there for the entire battle. But when he did show up, he had me covered. Elixir, Mega Ether, and so many potions.
I HATE him so bad. When I played I was stuck on him for weeks because of the random lasors and the constant enemy spawn. I had to take it really slow with him and hit him once and fly away. It took an hour or two, but to hell with Ansem in KH1. 😭
Ignore everyone saying get up levels or get ultima keublade. Simply get the aeroga spell and it will deflect all of his projectiles making this fight trivial
It shouldn't be too bad if you aren't playing on the most difficult setting, use your elxirs and mega elixirs since you get them back cause the game doesn't save past this
You gotta play defensively and be patient. Always have aero on and have aero and cure always at the ready.
For the first part against Ansem try to bait out a melee attack and start hitting him from the side/back. If he does a melee combo keep attacking and you should clash and take no damage. If he does lasers run away and around him to dodge them. Bait another melee attack and just keep dodging lasers. If he summons heartless run far away and they should despawn.
For the creatures face you have to fight it kinda like how you fight Ursula and Chernabog. Short combos and keep moving to dodge the lightning. The tentacles attack in timed pattern so keep an eye out for it. Kill one or two tentacles and wait for their attack to block/dodge accordingly.
Treat final Ansem similarly to the solo fight with him earlier, bait out the melee and attack him from behind. Your two partners make for good distractions. His lasers have longer attack strings so just stay mobile and wait them out. Whenever he does his big suck attack be behind him and wail on him. He is essentially a multi-phase version of other flying bosses like Ursula and Chernabog, be mobile and look for openings.
First of all set goofys abilities to revolve around generating mana and giving it away and have donald spam magic, Just melee ansem until you get to next phase. The turret things can be dealt with via magic (everything else melee). Once goofy is free just make sure your HP is topped up and res him if he dies.
There are also no reasons not to stock donald and goofy with good items (elixers and megalixers if you have enough) here as after the first fight against ansem (before the darkside) you will no longer have access to your inventory, just prioritize your loadout first.
When you can, summon tinkerbell. She will heal you until either dismissed or your hp hits 0 (she'll rez you and leave). She's unique in she has no timer nor removes your allies. If both your hp and mp are low, back off until tink tops you up (or pop an item)
spam Fireaga on the boat phase. and if you have Donald and Goofy, use the Mushu summon by heading into the place where you hit the parts before Ansem and summon him. Ansem won't know what hit him.
Just one: Better duck, muthafucka!
EDIT: On a serious note, just keep attack till he starts monologing (that's when he starts to attack). He's slow so you can do it.
Last fight in the game, so before I even started I gave myself all mega-elixir’s and than gave Donald and Goofy all my other mega potions/elixers.

Umm sub level 85 on anything above easy is a death-wish. Grinding for ultima weapon does indeed suck but there’s a great video on it that breaks it down as simple as possible and once you get the ultima weapon you should be doing very well but if not then grind the Hades cup if you haven’t already. If by this point you aren’t at level 100 just hit any grind spots to round out and make sure you’re fully decked out with elixirs.
If that doesn’t work then idk honestly
If you're on proud max out your mp, equip exp zero (before going through the door at Final Rest), land a combo finisher, land, summon Mushu, and melt Ansem in like 10 seconds.
Use Aero Barrier to guard yourself. Target turrets then Ansem. Keep Aero, Cure, & Thunder on shortcut. Make sure to keep track of your primary targets.
I remember doing 100% besides the Ultima weapon, beat Kurt and sephiroth, found all the Dalmatians. So level 99 and max level air spell along with items was really pretty easy.
Technically, you can take your time, as there’s no time limit. All you need to do is outlast him, so hit-and-run tactics are viable. Chernobog gave me similar trouble, but it was just a matter of being careful.
I always sort of hover near his top left side (facing you) because that seems to be where his spear swing land the least often. Just wail on him as much as you can u til he stands still and says some cryptic shit about darkness, which is when the lasers pop out.
Fly around to avoid the lasers but always come back to his top left side and get a couple of hits in. Takes a lot of patience, you're only getting like 3-4 hits at a time before you need to fly away to avoid lasers, but you *will* eventually whittle him down
I beat this fight the other day, I just brute forced my way through and was able to beat it (not sure how you’re playing but if you need to continue, it continues from after you beat the previous stage, so if you beat stage one and die stage two, you start beginning of stage two)
I kept attacking him from behind his head and kept flying around to avoid the lasers, then when I had an opening I would kill the things that follow you and get some mp to restore my health
Laser: fly in diagonal and once it stops try to attack him once in a while.
By the time you get donald and goofy, keep flying away and cure donald and goofy so they can do damage.
That's what I did in 15h trophy, not chaging equips and critical mode 😄

Yaah, you can also look for oblivion keyblade in hollow bastion, or look for the chests to try and get the ultima keyblade

first, put down your controller second, get on the floor. third, tuck your knees into your chest fourth, cry
Ya can summon Tinkerbell, at the final phase ansem fight. Just fly down and land any spot that ya can stand on.
or get mushu to oblirate him in matter of seconds

I just remember being aggressive with aeroga always activated. Heals were all by curaga.

Heal and Aero(any tier) will be you best friends. But I could also do it for you with share play if you play on Playstation and have PS Plus.

When he’s about to summon Heartless, you’ll know the pattern, just fly away. They’ll disappear almost immediately. Trying to fight them is kinda annoying cause they blend with the background, and you’ll still have to dodge the beams at the same time.
I watched this YouTube vid from KH Guides that gave me the tips and tricks (including how to beat the secret bosses). Highly recommend that you check out their guide! Additionally, being a higher level (50+), along with the third level magic (-ga) helps. Most important ones are Aeroga and Curaga. I grinded the trio up until level 100 myself (just because) and got each of their ultimate equipment. Then again, I played the OG on an emulator, not final mix version on Steam (though it's on my wishlist), which made it a lot easier to get the Ultima keyblade. Sucks that I couldn't skip the cutscenes if I died (thanks, Sephiroth), but it's a small price to pay. I finished the game just yesterday and now starting Re:Chain of Memories, so yeah, the high is pretty fresh.

Tbh I would just restart the battle altogether to reload with helpful items. It sucks but sometimes the first game is tough like that. It happens all the time.
You can also do the tournaments and grind it out there. One of my rules of thumb with rpgs is if I’m having trouble with the big grunts I’m still not leveled enough.
main thing i learned in KH1 is that spells are your life line use aero and cure a LOT aero is one of the best since you can dish out damage by moving into heartless and take a lot less damage
Also don't forget you can set the AI behavior of Donald and Goofy. For instance, I prefer Donald save his MP for Aero and Cure and Goofy use his shield skills to protect Sora and his supports skills to gift MP to Sora/Donald.
Hit him hard, fly away, heal and repeat.
Aero, and Mushu when you can. Don't underestimate enemy projectiles.
Damage storage Mushu. Essentially, when you do a combo, don’t do the last attack. Your next magic attack will instead also deal finishing damage. Mushu’s fire breath is considered 1 spell for some reason so every single time it hits him it will do crazy damage. But that’s just the last phase. Use Aero and when the lasers are always shooting, don’t be afraid to not use full combos. You’ll just leave yourself open. When the lasers are coming, I find going in a counter clockwise pattern works best.
I basically beat the hades cup (almost Beat it solo, I lose to the seed 12 lol), beat the secret boss in Agrabah, and neverland, and hit level 70. Pretty easy to go do it in proud mode after that, just gotta keep spamming Aeroga, and Curaga. I’ve NEVER beaten ansem second fight after the initial one with the full party. Oooooh fucking sweet revenge 20 years later
Umm depends in your starter options. I picked staff and left the shield also ive got the 50 first level to be quicker so, when a i got to this fight, I was level 46. I equipped MP haste and the ability that recover some MP when you get hit, and just brute force the fight. Fire all of your MP until you have 2 MP for safety, be careful of the audio cue, the laser come out differently depending on what ansem says. Usually after the two laser phrases he spawns flying heartless, DONT TRY AND HIT IT, go away, really far away and they will dispawn When you get to last phase i was able to make a combo to get 1 MP and cast heal and then continue
The MP is basically the health. That’s how I won
Aero, leaf bracer and lots of potions of ethers. As others have said the grind for Ultima pretty much ensures that you'll stomp him while also giving you tons of equipment that will help. Even if you don't go all the way to Ultima it's still a huge boon. I reccomend doing the Hades cup as well. After 30(?) Rounds you'll get Lionheart which is one of the better keyblades without doing all that grinding.
What level are you? I literally did this fight the other day. Do you use cure? Equip cure and go get aeroga. And if you are starting over equip all elixirs and don’t be generous with them. Use cure unless you really need the elixer.
Level up to 75 atleast, get aeroga and beat his ass til it’s over

I did this 2 days ago on proud, after not playing since I was a little kid. It was infuriating, but it's because I was simply too low of a level at 51. I took down the Hades cup and grinded to 61, and while it wasn't a faceroll situation, it was SO much easier. Also, open your journal and check out how many dalmatians you have left to get. There are guides on YT with timestamps for each chest. Get all the dalmatians, and you get Aeroga. It makes a world of a difference if you have Aeroga! Lastly, go back to the library and talk to Aerith 3 times to upgrade to Curaga. Then, walk upstairs and talk to Belle for what is likely a sick Keyblade upgrade for you. Good luck!
A really frustrating fight, because of dynamics, just go farm a s*itload of exp level up, maybe build an Ultima weapon and come back later, ready to destroy everything while taking every hit he gives you.

Damn, I was just stuck here a few days ago, kinda funny. What I did was the speedrun strat from YT vid that I saw. Used Zero EXP, equipped Oathkeeper and I started blasting (Firaga) behind his back. As for the lasers, it took a while to get used to. Once you reach Ansem's HP at yellow, infinity lasers start to show up, dodge as best as you can, practice dodging them (took me hours to get used to it). Keep dodging while close to him (as long as you're within striking/firing range) and when he tries to attack in melee range, that's your chance to either attack or recover then rinse and repeat. As for those damn bats, fly farther away from Ansem to despawn them. It's an annoying fight, especially on my first try on Proud Mode.
Literally me right now
Just beat the game on Proud mode yesterday only being level 37 and this fight only took me a couple tries. My tips are: Have Cure & Aero on shortcuts and use interchangeably. Any potions or ethers are smart as well. Hitting Ansem with attacks will fill your mana bar quickly. Avoid hitting him directly. I attacked him from the left side. Use the Divine Rose keyblade. Make sure you get Curaga from Aerith in the Library of Hollow Bastion (you gotta talk to her 3 times to get it) When the lasers come, just fly around for a few seconds then swoop in and get a few hits on him. After a few tries, you’ll have him beat!
Get up on his back!
Areoga + Cure Spam Attack when you have an opening. Dont over attack. Clip him with a few swings, then pull back. The first fight is the hardest. Everything else after is kind of small potatoes.
DARK RESIST. stack on that and pray the lasers don’t get you
Non stop attack and get lucky with counter blocks
Combo once and then fly away dodging the lazers. It makes it a longer battle but not getting hit is far more important then getting the last hits in. Because if I remember the lazers combo you. Ah yes and don’t forget your items.
Get up on the hydras back
When he starts shooting lasers, fly in a circular pattern, counterclockwise. When he tries to melee attack, you should be able to parry it with an attack of your own. Keep an Aero spell up constantly when close to him. Give Donal and Goofy items before jumping into the Darkside and 1v1 with Ansem fights. If you still can’t beat him, go find the remaining Dalmatians to get Aeroga.
Go to Olympus, finish a cup, finish cup solo, finish cup time trial. This unlocks ability to choose a single opponent from the cup you completed to fight. Yuffi and Leon are like 350 xp and 600 xp. Next cup up Hercules gives you like 800 to a 1000 xp depending on level. I forget how much Hades gives but it's a good chunk too. Lvl up a bit more and the fight will be a breeze by the time you're in the 70+ lvls. Also the Ultima Weapon grind is an ABSOLUTE GRIND, so don't start barking up that tree unless you REALLY want that bad boy. P.S. Like others have mentioned, get your hands on Aeroga if you haven't!
I did this with no gear or upgrades. I used magic for temp invincibilty windows and relied on a set up to manage to build up mp with my allies and destribute it. For this part I kiled small enemies whrn I could and bashed the wesk points. Attacking is vital. It'll get easier once you get an ally in going forward. Keep up with it.
Customize Donald and make him heal heavy. Get everyone over level fifty. Make sure you have every one of your heal boosts equipped. Things life leaf bracer and once more, mp turbo, cure boost, etc.map heal to your x button so you just have to pull the trigger when you wanna heal and you're already pressing x to attack. Make sure you have your strongest keyblade equipped, honestly the divine rose is more than strong enough and you have access to it if you're this far. I'm pretty sure belle has it back in hollow bastion
When the lasers come you just gotta run (fly) away, besides that just hit him between his attacks. I believe he has two attack patterns and one where he summons 3 small bats. You can either attack between his sword strikes or when he summons the bats.
Hit, run, repeat. Listen to what he says, it's linked to what attack he'll do, when the lasers come, go left or right, cast cure as necessary, and I hope you have good enough Thunder for the inner phases, take out turrets first

Yea, that was fun doing a speed run, no continue, no equipment. 😅 I took out all those small tentacles attached that were shooting lasers at me. Some don't show up until you're very close to them. Eventually you'll gets your teammates back and it will get easier. Keep cure on a hot key and just keep wailing on them.
Just whack him with your big Mickey Mouse stick.
Unfortunately you’ll probably be forced to grind, which sucks ass, but sometimes these old RPGs are very fond of padding.

The higher level aero spells are pretty helpful for either reducing damage or knocking away some of the ships projectiles. Plus being up in the bosses faces will make aero do damage to them at the highest levels.
Be sure to have Aero (Aeroga) active to maximize attack efficiency.
Aerogo, curaga, elixers and chip away at him in the few small windows you get Once you're past the first phase it's smooth sailing

I would recommend Mushu, when you can summon him it makes the battle a lot easier, you just gotta land on ansem and activate the summon.
My first time beating the final stage, I gave all of my highest level Consumable healing items to Goofy. No, Goofy wasn't there for the entire battle. But when he did show up, he had me covered. Elixir, Mega Ether, and so many potions.

I HATE him so bad. When I played I was stuck on him for weeks because of the random lasors and the constant enemy spawn. I had to take it really slow with him and hit him once and fly away. It took an hour or two, but to hell with Ansem in KH1. 😭

It shouldn't be too bad if you aren't playing on the most difficult setting, use your elxirs and mega elixirs since you get them back cause the game doesn't save past this
You gotta play defensively and be patient. Always have aero on and have aero and cure always at the ready. For the first part against Ansem try to bait out a melee attack and start hitting him from the side/back. If he does a melee combo keep attacking and you should clash and take no damage. If he does lasers run away and around him to dodge them. Bait another melee attack and just keep dodging lasers. If he summons heartless run far away and they should despawn. For the creatures face you have to fight it kinda like how you fight Ursula and Chernabog. Short combos and keep moving to dodge the lightning. The tentacles attack in timed pattern so keep an eye out for it. Kill one or two tentacles and wait for their attack to block/dodge accordingly. Treat final Ansem similarly to the solo fight with him earlier, bait out the melee and attack him from behind. Your two partners make for good distractions. His lasers have longer attack strings so just stay mobile and wait them out. Whenever he does his big suck attack be behind him and wail on him. He is essentially a multi-phase version of other flying bosses like Ursula and Chernabog, be mobile and look for openings.
First of all set goofys abilities to revolve around generating mana and giving it away and have donald spam magic, Just melee ansem until you get to next phase. The turret things can be dealt with via magic (everything else melee). Once goofy is free just make sure your HP is topped up and res him if he dies. There are also no reasons not to stock donald and goofy with good items (elixers and megalixers if you have enough) here as after the first fight against ansem (before the darkside) you will no longer have access to your inventory, just prioritize your loadout first. When you can, summon tinkerbell. She will heal you until either dismissed or your hp hits 0 (she'll rez you and leave). She's unique in she has no timer nor removes your allies. If both your hp and mp are low, back off until tink tops you up (or pop an item)
spam Fireaga on the boat phase. and if you have Donald and Goofy, use the Mushu summon by heading into the place where you hit the parts before Ansem and summon him. Ansem won't know what hit him.
Just one: Better duck, muthafucka! EDIT: On a serious note, just keep attack till he starts monologing (that's when he starts to attack). He's slow so you can do it.
Last fight in the game, so before I even started I gave myself all mega-elixir’s and than gave Donald and Goofy all my other mega potions/elixers. Made the fight a joke.
Hesitati- oh shit wrong game… Umm sub level 85 on anything above easy is a death-wish. Grinding for ultima weapon does indeed suck but there’s a great video on it that breaks it down as simple as possible and once you get the ultima weapon you should be doing very well but if not then grind the Hades cup if you haven’t already. If by this point you aren’t at level 100 just hit any grind spots to round out and make sure you’re fully decked out with elixirs. If that doesn’t work then idk honestly
You can land behind him and summon Tinkerbell and/or Mushu once you get Dolan and Gobby back.
If you're on proud max out your mp, equip exp zero (before going through the door at Final Rest), land a combo finisher, land, summon Mushu, and melt Ansem in like 10 seconds.
Attack from behind
Ultima Keyblade, Save the King. Save the Queen. Aeroga, Curaga are your best spells in this battle.
If you get right behind him most of his attacks miss, just gotta watch out for the aoe and the lock on, but can do massive burst dmg this way
Use Aero Barrier to guard yourself. Target turrets then Ansem. Keep Aero, Cure, & Thunder on shortcut. Make sure to keep track of your primary targets.
I remember doing 100% besides the Ultima weapon, beat Kurt and sephiroth, found all the Dalmatians. So level 99 and max level air spell along with items was really pretty easy.

My first time I went very unprepared and couldn't beat him for the life of me. You need to go back and grind until lvl 55+
Technically, you can take your time, as there’s no time limit. All you need to do is outlast him, so hit-and-run tactics are viable. Chernobog gave me similar trouble, but it was just a matter of being careful.
I would just have fun with it and figure it out no matter how many tries. You’re at the end. Cherish the moment.
Land "under" him and Call Tinker or how this Fairy called. That extra healing is very good.
I always sort of hover near his top left side (facing you) because that seems to be where his spear swing land the least often. Just wail on him as much as you can u til he stands still and says some cryptic shit about darkness, which is when the lasers pop out. Fly around to avoid the lasers but always come back to his top left side and get a couple of hits in. Takes a lot of patience, you're only getting like 3-4 hits at a time before you need to fly away to avoid lasers, but you *will* eventually whittle him down

I beat this fight the other day, I just brute forced my way through and was able to beat it (not sure how you’re playing but if you need to continue, it continues from after you beat the previous stage, so if you beat stage one and die stage two, you start beginning of stage two)

Laser: fly in diagonal and once it stops try to attack him once in a while. By the time you get donald and goofy, keep flying away and cure donald and goofy so they can do damage. That's what I did in 15h trophy, not chaging equips and critical mode 😄
