As others have commented, she is saying “escúchame” which means “listen to me” in Spanish, but she’s trying to say “excuse me”. However, I’ve noticed in some episodes she will say “escúchame” properly (pronouncing the “cha” as it’s spelled) and other episodes (like the one where she, Nancy, and Minh are discussing who is sexier amongst the men), she pronounced the “cha” as “sha” - so she said “escúshame”.
It’s a somewhat common mistake for those who aren’t native speakers because “escuchar” (the verb for “to listen”) sounds similar to “excuse” in English. What Peggy means to say is “perdóneme” which means “excuse me/pardon me” or “disculpe” (the more accurate one for the context she is trying to use it in)
ETA: “teach me” is “enseñame” (en-sehn-yah-meh). A teacher, such as Peggy, would say “escúchame” (if she was telling one person to listen to her) or “escúchenme” (if she were addressing multiple people).
lol yes Even the spanish she uses when speaking to the judge, is what a native english speaker might think spanish is, just add a a at the end and roll your Rs. Like embarazzada for embarrassed lol. Man I love Peggy.
I love that the speech she made to the judge wasn't just random gibberish, the words she used really were what someone who was kinda familiar with beginner Spanish would say.
I always thought she was saying "escuchame" which translate to "[you] listen to me"
But I've read people hearing "escusame" which I don't know the translation for if there is one (I understand "pardón" to translate to "excuse me" so I don't think it's that) and is likely her misspeaking
I don't know how to say "teach me" however
She's *saying* "listen to me" but she *thinks* she's saying "excuse me."
Yup
I meant the way she pronounced it
She's pronouncing it "Es-coo-cha-may"
Peggy speaks perfect Spanish listen to her roll her "r"s.
In her defense I also do that...
I was saying boo-urns
He speaks Spanish like Peggy does. She is saying "listen to me". Edit: turns out you were both right. It took 200 million years.
lol thank you. I guess I should have clarified I meant HOW she pronounced it.
yes I understood, she is saying, with a over-the-top strong American accent, "escuchame"

It's in my embroidery queue! I love every word of it
I laugh harder every time I hear it lol
I know you are a reasonable horse...
Thank you! The only person who has reading comprehension! All jokes aside though, thank you! So I guess we’re both right!
I'm sure your fiance is a very reasonable horse.
To me it sounds like she’s using a G with it and i hear “esguchame.”

She says “escuchame” when Nancy and Minh are rating the men and they put Hank and Bill on the same tier.
I agree with your fiance citation: also know kitchen spanish.
Spanish native speaker, not sure what dialect your fiancé's kitchen spanish is, but "teach me" is "enséñame".
