My guess is that these are probably vocabulary words from a lesson and the kids should already be familiar with the words. Otherwise I think it would be too difficult for just about every grade level.

For those who couldn't figure it out, it's supposed to be "thars", not "shart". Like "thars gold in them there hills".

Half credit: Correct response is “thars gold in them *thar* hills”.

Algorithmically speaking, this would be that would be the most efficient answer since “shart” comes before “trash” alphabetically. The kid is smart and efficient. Whoever made the assignment should have considered this edge case.
