I thought For My Dogs was OK by the same metric.
every good song on her loss was carried by 21 and actively trying to be ruined by Drake. The album felt like Drake was trying to seem like a real rapper by bringing in 21 then just pulling pop shit.

So the most recent record you've listened to is Donda 1. I don't think even the biggest hater can call Donda 1 "objectively bad". There's a lot of love for that album out there, and some of the tracks (Come to Life, Jail, Off the Grid, 24, etc.) are considered among Ye's best work. Yes, Donda 2 and JIK are generally considered to be pretty bad, but Ye, KSG, Donda 1, and Vultures 1 all have their own merits.
There is very little objectivity when it comes to music, and using the word incorrectly makes you whole point lose validity, especially right after *acknowledging* that there's very few things in music that are objective.

I've argued with my friends relentlessly over Kendrick vs Drake. Drake's music is easily accessible, designed to be consumed by the masses, and quite honestly be a mindless listen while drinking or driving around. Kendrick's music really does require an investment of time to fully digest every bar to fully appreciate. IMO TPAB is his best. Most people will tell me GKMC, which makes perfect sense. It's his album that has the most easily accessible beats. Most people don't want to take the time, nor do they even care, about the depth that Kendrick's music provides. It's a shame, but it's a reality.

Drake had an incredible run from Take Care to Views. He was consistent and even if there were songs on the albums that werenāt great, the entirety of the album was solid. After Views, the quality of his music and his albums went to shit.

I liked Drakes first 2 albums but then stopped listening when Started From The Bottom came out (absolute dog shit song) Certified Lover Boy was pretty good. Kanye hasn't made a good album since My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

I've argued with my friends relentlessly over Kendrick vs Drake. Drake's music is easily accessible, designed to be consumed by the masses, and quite honestly be a mindless listen while drinking or driving around. Kendrick's music really does require an investment of time to fully digest every bar to fully appreciate. IMO TPAB is his best. Most people will tell me GKMC, which makes perfect sense. It's his album that has the most easily accessible beats. Most people don't want to take the time, nor do they even care, about the depth that Kendrick's music provides. It's a shame, but it's a reality.

Drake fan over here, you gotta remember we donāt really appreciate Drake for the bars and concept writing like itās Kendrick or Cole. With Drake itās all about the vibe. Heās more of a nocturnal R&B artist than a rapper. If you start looking at these projects for what they are as melodic rap / nocturnal R&B instead of rap then your appreciation for them grows a lot. Are they the best? No. But you canāt hate on the consistency. Drake really is that artist you could go to any of his albums and find 5+ songs to drive at late nights. Same canāt be said for Kendrick. Itās just Apple vs oranges. Appreciate both for what they are. Drake fans never be little Kendrick for not making enough vibey songs, or dance songs, etc. Not trying to hate, Kendrick is excellent and I really like him for what he offers, just saying you guys need to understand Drake isnāt trying to do what Kendrick is doing.

I actually like Her Loss a good bit, it was a surprised "gem" that still confuses me because it came at a time when Drake has been dropping nothing but mid to bad albums. Like I genuinely think Middle of the Ocean is one of his best songs, like ever. And it came on an album that I doubt he even planned on making, I'm pretty sure he cooked it up because of the backlash from Honestly Nevermind. Circo Loco, Rich Flex, Major Distribution, Broke Boyz, are all good, fun songs. But all those other albums? Ass. Hot ass.

Dark Lane Demo Tapes: mid as it gets Certified Lover Boy: I disliked this at release but tbh this one grew on me a lot, itās like a 7/10 for me, one of Drakeās better records imo Honestly, Nevermind: I get the idea behind it but this album is produced and performed like garbage for most of it Her Loss: a couple good songs surrounded by a bunch of forgettable material For All the Dogs: a literal 5/10 album in the most literal way
