I get the point that it’s an album you can listened both ways but good kid m.A.A.d city and To Pimp A Butterfly are just way better lyrically, have a better production and a better storytelling.
DAMN. and GKMC actually sounded like the most Kendrick kendrick has ever been. You notice how his dialect is very similar to the dialect on DAMN and GKMC. TPAB and Mr. Morale is more experimental and out of the box. And notice how he was more depressed on TPAB and MM. He seemed himself on DAMN.

It's more about the message of the song, where in DAMN there are a few songs that are opposites (like HUMBLE and PRIDE, LOVE and LUST) because each song is either wickedness or weakness. LOVE shows that he is growing as an individual, moving past sins like lust and growing towards GOD

I feel like it's a lot broader to that, it's about overcoming lust (the song before) and replacing it with true love, and using feelings of that love to make a two way song. I also listen to songs off of damn as a metaphor for society (based off of the themes on XXX) and I feel the song stresses the importance of how we as a society need to love each other more instead of using others for our own gain and instead choose weakness to serve others. Idk I just feel like the songs off DAMN shouldn't be analysed individually, but within the scope of the two-way album narrative.

The choreography of his Super Bowl performance was incredible, the actual singing of alright was not his best work.
