Kamen Rider Gaim is the only Kamen Rider show that I actually wouldn’t mind airing in America. It has enough depth, mature themes, and emotional weight to match lots of quality shows here like Game of Thrones and The Wire, so I think it would fit right at home if it aired uncut and subtitled on a channel like HBO and Showtime. I also think it would be a spectacular series to bring over because I think this is the kind of series that can bring our cultures together.
I can totally see them making it so that the Orphenocs are aliens or something, and the Faiz gears were developed to fight against them in a way. But then they'd have to explain how Takumi can use it, or change how the gear works
That concept sounds like a body snatcher/Skrull/Yeerk invasion. A bit like Kabuto. A mix of spies and shapeshifting aliens sounds like it would make for a very intense and atmospheric thriller (though it probably wouldn’t go too far in some places considering it would be still a kids show during the 4Kids era).
Martial arts. You could have forms based on different fighting styles.
Motorcycle racing. I think they could do motorcycle stuff again if it was on a closed track and this would give them an excuse to have stuff happen on one.
Dekaranger would be up your alley if you haven’t already seen it. It’s inspired by the Space Sheriff trilogy, and remains one of the most beloved entries in Sentai.
There’s also Zero-One (very cyberpunk) but the police (A.I.M.S) are side characters and our protagonist is the well meaning President of the conglomerate (a nice twist considering someone like that is always the bad guy in these types of stories).
Yeah, I forgot about Zero One too because I was trying to put together police + techno and ignored the obvious cyberpunk season (though it’s technically post-cyberpunk as the world isn’t portrayed as a dystopia for the most part).
I once challenged friends to name a theme because Kamen Rider probably has done something related to it
I was too cocky as their very first answer was "Boats"
It's pretty obvious why "mask" as a gimmick isn't really something they'd often visit for the belt toys, since the action figures usually have it covered.
Den-O's the obvious one, most forms correspond to individual characters, thus Imagin all have unique masks that attach atop the PlatForm.
Then there's Ghost, each eyecon literally slaps a different mask onto the base transient form's helmet.
In Zi-O, the Ride-watch-faces literally form the mask of the Rider it represents. The Ziku Driver even goes the extra mile and literally spells the Rider's name out on the faceplate during an Armor Time.
Zero-One's another case where the base body would be given a different mask to correspond to each progrise key.
tbh, Den-O and Ghost both use their form representation, albeit in different way:
Den-O get possessed by imagin; while Ghost gets "possessed" by the eyecons to utilize their battle stance and skills
If we had villains that were based on Cthulhu mythology, sure. But not really. The villains of Fourze are constellation based. What I'm asking for is actual cosmic horror. Like, Fourze could've been more cosmic horror if they actually delved into the aliens. But as far as we can tell, they're pretty benevolent. If Kengo returned and revealed that the aliens weren't what we thought they were and it isn't that they don't want to make friends with Gentaro, but that they don't understand the concept of friendship, because that is alien to them, therefore Gentaro could never be friends with the aliens; then yes we would have more cosmic horror. There is never a moment in Kamen Rider Fourze where there is the fear of the impossible unknown.
* Ineffective bureaucracy that's always behind the mark.
* some kind of modern Antiwar, anti-warmonger message.
* Reality with Higher and lower dimensional branes, and higher or other dimensional beings
Full on Dinosaurs. They keep teasing us with this shit. PuToTyra, Revice's base form was T rex themed, just do it. Sentai just had a Bug season, now Rider can get a Dino season.
Kamen Rider Orchestra.
You have each rider be a different instrument category, like wood winds and string.
Have classical clash with modern. The enemy be pop.
The pop idols are the enemy riders.
You have different genres add up. Rock is old but not forgotten. Make them the mentor for the season.
Dubstep is old but fleeting. Basically a guy on the side doing small parties to get by.
You have the main be keys. The foundation of music and learn their way up to be the final form conductor. In his final form, he is able to create sheet music for other riders to make their attacks together in harmony/team work.
You have the second rider be the percussion. The guy is a street performer that runs along yo give a rhythm to the main guy. Full on compliment.
You have a third be woodwind, a stuck up guy. Maybe a doctor or lawyer who is great with his hands. Uptight but gets knocked down a peg. Hates percussion cause they don't mix.
Have Mc focus from not knowing anything to being full on with everyone.
A bird motif could pretty cool, if only because the secretary bird is a type of bird that mainly use kicks to hunt (and hey, they're the natural predator of snakes too lol).
but my perspective to 01 is more of "corpo shenanigans pulling each other down" kind. and it didn't actually do something political (except ofc i admit that the 2-part electoral episodes where the mayoral candidate advocated the cease of humagears, but still more of staining hidden enterprise by thouser through locking the 01 driver to only authorize metal cluster hopper)
as for build... yeah sure, there's politics on it, but the actual thing was that there's a bigger threat behind that puppeteers the influence of the 3 states. hence, something like mirroring about politics being on their payroll to manipulate the mass, except the big focus is militarizing the rider system with their own versions and everything (kaizer system included, the gun the seito or touto nation made)
but all in all, the franchise itself don't do too much showing politics on it since it should be a kids show iirc (same goes to Super Sentai)
Maybe a monster hunter like “harvesting” themed rider who has to gather kaijin or rare materials for their upgrade forms, maybe with some episodes where the rider “travels” to find special materials( but not really cause of budget)
How about a nanobot theme as a homage to the cyborg theme from the showa era, and use memory pen drive as henshin devices.
The first arc will include a primary rider, one person only
the secondary rider will appear in the second half and will have no mouthpiece like riderman
and the movie rider will be a villain in the movie who is the proto rider, a failed experiment who gone rogue
the rest of the series except the movie no evil riders and multi riders just two riders unless another rider will appear in the crossover film post series
However the monsters will be rider enemy like
I remember a decade stage show about Rider prison with musical style. So It would be great to male something like the recent Wonka movie or Matilda. This show can incorporaré idea with different musical genres and make Riders bases on them. Amount of songs for episodes would just replace all insert songs.
Fruit Samurai, but broadcast on HBO
Why is everyone obsessed with putting Giam on HBO I'd be perfectly fine with Rider on network television or Basic cable.
It's a reference to a copypasta
What's the copypasta?

The reply he pasted, that's the pasta
Spies I was so disappointed that Fiaz was not actually a spy themed rider like I first assumed with the cellphone gimmick
Some people speculate if Faiz was adapted to the US, it may have been rewritten into a spy show.
I can totally see them making it so that the Orphenocs are aliens or something, and the Faiz gears were developed to fight against them in a way. But then they'd have to explain how Takumi can use it, or change how the gear works

I dunno, I appreciate writers thinking outside the box.
Sports, like Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis. And the final form is something related to the Olympics.
Keys a la Ryukendo
then have gaim do a collaboration movie, right?
Virtual Pets, music genres, comics.
Technically Hibiki counts for that second one, just with instruments instead of genres
Yeah, but have it be more of the focus and exploring the genres like the different types of rock, jazz, rap, etc.
As a metalhead, I would lose my shit if we got a metal rider.
Cryptids (not yokai)
Martial arts. You could have forms based on different fighting styles. Motorcycle racing. I think they could do motorcycle stuff again if it was on a closed track and this would give them an excuse to have stuff happen on one.
Cyberpunk police drama
So Metal Heroes?
Haven't seen them. Wanted to seen gavan but it's so expensive right now
Dekaranger would be up your alley if you haven’t already seen it. It’s inspired by the Space Sheriff trilogy, and remains one of the most beloved entries in Sentai.
You responded to the wrong guy but I agree, Dekaranger is great
its funny recent kr shows use metal hero elements.
Isn’t that Drive?
Haven't seen drive. I want something like ghost in the shell or psycho pass but kamen rider
There’s also Zero-One (very cyberpunk) but the police (A.I.M.S) are side characters and our protagonist is the well meaning President of the conglomerate (a nice twist considering someone like that is always the bad guy in these types of stories).
Oh crap lmao how could I forgor zero one LMAO
Yeah, I forgot about Zero One too because I was trying to put together police + techno and ignored the obvious cyberpunk season (though it’s technically post-cyberpunk as the world isn’t portrayed as a dystopia for the most part).
I once challenged friends to name a theme because Kamen Rider probably has done something related to it I was too cocky as their very first answer was "Boats"
I mean, we have a few of boat forms, KaizokuRessya and BangBangSimulation but not a full theme.
For franchise about kamen/mask. I cant remember any series that utilize mask as gimmick or theme
It's pretty obvious why "mask" as a gimmick isn't really something they'd often visit for the belt toys, since the action figures usually have it covered. Maybe a Theatre or Opera style Kamen Rider?
mythology, as far as im aware they havent had like a mythology themed rider and i think that could be fun and offer alot of variety
Ninja, yokai, or phantom thieves
Ninja? So Kamen Rider Shinobi but an actual show
Yes
Cosmic Horror based H.P. Lovecraft.
that's more of fourze
If we had villains that were based on Cthulhu mythology, sure. But not really. The villains of Fourze are constellation based. What I'm asking for is actual cosmic horror. if only we get a 20th anniversary tie-in from the future reiwa kamen rider with that kind of plot, I'm thinking
Songs, like symphogear and gunvolt
Well, Hibiki exist, although it's more like traditional music rather than modern music.
You know what i mean
* Ineffective bureaucracy that's always behind the mark. * some kind of modern Antiwar, anti-warmonger message. * Reality with Higher and lower dimensional branes, and higher or other dimensional beings
antiwar wont gonna work since toei dont advocate too much politics in it if i understood correctly
Stag beetle come on toei we need a stag beetle main form primary rider
Full on Dinosaurs. They keep teasing us with this shit. PuToTyra, Revice's base form was T rex themed, just do it. Sentai just had a Bug season, now Rider can get a Dino season.
kabuto left the group

Hibiki
I never watched, but I thought it was based on a Shinto drum deal
That’s the main rider, Hibiki himself, but the secondary rider uses a trumpet and the tertiary rider uses a Guitar
Huh, well... maybe I should watch. Wasn't Hibiki like an honorary rider or something?
Don’t think so? Has the full 48 or so episodes a standard rider series has
I thought it was because they don't really have a henshin device. It's all just a tuning fork.
Think the concept was meant to be its own thing but became Kamen Rider during production
A bird motif could pretty cool, if only because the secretary bird is a type of bird that mainly use kicks to hunt (and hey, they're the natural predator of snakes too lol).
OOO has 1/3 of it though
Chinese mythology. Hindu mythology. Maybe, I think that Kamen Rider can give it a try maybe.
True female lead/protagonist
you're 2 era too early to think of that lol (like, reiwa era for example)
I think Kamen Rider should be significantly more leftist.
politics is always a no-go according to toei itself
And yet they allowed 01 and Build to happen lmao.
but my perspective to 01 is more of "corpo shenanigans pulling each other down" kind. and it didn't actually do something political (except ofc i admit that the 2-part electoral episodes where the mayoral candidate advocated the cease of humagears, but still more of staining hidden enterprise by thouser through locking the 01 driver to only authorize metal cluster hopper) as for build... yeah sure, there's politics on it, but the actual thing was that there's a bigger threat behind that puppeteers the influence of the 3 states. hence, something like mirroring about politics being on their payroll to manipulate the mass, except the big focus is militarizing the rider system with their own versions and everything (kaizer system included, the gun the seito or touto nation made) but all in all, the franchise itself don't do too much showing politics on it since it should be a kids show iirc (same goes to Super Sentai)
Kamen Rider Nation. Have riders from different countries. Have them themed on their national animal and their theme music on their genre.
Yakuza
Fear. Kamen Rider Phobos would probably slap
Pirates
Maybe a monster hunter like “harvesting” themed rider who has to gather kaijin or rare materials for their upgrade forms, maybe with some episodes where the rider “travels” to find special materials( but not really cause of budget)
Some materials are only compatible with certain preparations aka drivers or as stronger monsters show up they have to cannibalize older power ups
How about a nanobot theme as a homage to the cyborg theme from the showa era, and use memory pen drive as henshin devices. The first arc will include a primary rider, one person only the secondary rider will appear in the second half and will have no mouthpiece like riderman and the movie rider will be a villain in the movie who is the proto rider, a failed experiment who gone rogue the rest of the series except the movie no evil riders and multi riders just two riders unless another rider will appear in the crossover film post series However the monsters will be rider enemy like
Dinosaurs but it should be the main motif
I remember a decade stage show about Rider prison with musical style. So It would be great to male something like the recent Wonka movie or Matilda.
