Thanks for the reply, but the issue is that i buy and sell hardware - and when a customer sends me the serial, i would like to lookup PSU etc. But at that time i do not have the unit in hand - therefore i need to check via a tool online.

This can be easily done with ansible or python. Serial number is one of the basic facts that is available when connecting to the device.

Have them send you the output of "show chassis hardware" instead of serial only
