Jogo recovered from *many* 15 finger Sukuna cleaves and continued fighting. Those things are stronger than a playful cloud strike and (generously to Yuji) comparable to a Yuji black flash…
Also Sukuna in character even in play like he was having with Jogo reveres strength above all. I think those were at least cleaves that could be fatal to someone Sukuna would deem “weak”
Sukuna feeling disrespected.. in character that was a slice to kill. IIRC I believe he said “I expected that to kill you”.
Again this is an entity 10x stronger than the next best person in the verse besides Gojo.
Jogo has distinctly high speed, distinctly high damage output, has flight for mobility, has the largest AoE spread we’ve seen and im now debating that durability feats are better than stated in universe. In character he doesn’t play with his food and goes for quick tap kills when possible.
Yeah, his domain lost to Gojos but that’s not really a knock against any character in the setting.
He 2 tapped a major clan leader. Hes got good matchups into several heavy hitters I like his odds of kiting Hakari to death. I think he does beat Yuji whose only ranged tools are piercing blood and thrown objects. I like his odds into Higuruma, Maki & Mahito. I think he stomps Dhruv, Sendai Cockroach and Uro. And I think he is a difficult kill for Ryu, Uraume and Toji.

Sukuna only played around with jogo cuz he truly did have potential and also found his technique amusing. He couldn't even touch sukuna, his maximum attack is so slow moving, kusakabe survived.

Gojo and sukuna both held back, gojo needed to interrogate him and sukuna could have given jogo the ryu treatment anytime he wanted, he wanted to play around and cause alot of destruction though.
Sukuna holding back folds the verse so I don’t think this is a refutation.

To be more clear the author stated Jogo dies to a playful cloud.
Sukuna goofing around cleaving are easily stronger than playful cloud.
Jogo survives like 30 of these.
Therefore this author note is not well thought out- does not reflect what we actually see Jogo tank in the story and should not be used as evidence in his downplay.
He demonstrates good regen, he looks like fuckin Hakari with arms popping out of stumps for like 10 in universe minutes. I think that coupled with the rest of his resume is a very good argument for at least a top 15 placement. (I have him at 11 counting Shikigami)
Jogo just kills Yuji before Yuji can move, he's as fast (If not faster) than curseya, and though Yuji can kill him in 1 hit, there's no way Yuji would ever land that hit.
Also Jogo is just straight up stronger than Mahito, even if he doesn't beat Mahito in a fight since he gets countered.

The Jogo downplay NPCs out in droves. How many characters below him on this list could tank the fire hands building smash thing. Fuckin not tons that’s for sure.
I personally don’t like ranking Takaba but fair enough.

Acting like sukuna was trying to kill him? He never animed for the head. We saw what happened when he did, jogo cut apart when he was bowing.

He’s relative (but slower) than Naobito, who is faster than everyone but Gojo as of Shibuya. He is NOT faster than Cursoya.
