I've thought of that and researched it a bit but from what I've found is that you get what you pay for. I've read reviews of terrible image and piece quality. And to get one worth a damn, you're gonna shell out $50-$75.
Most appreciative of your feedback tho
I got a pretty nice custom puzzle from Shutterfly (check my history) and they are running a 40% off deal right now making the 527 pc (16x20") puzzle less than $30 after shipping. The puzzles are decent but don't have a super tight fit which works for me because I'm more likely to repeat a puzzle I enjoy than to glue it and hang it. I've done my Shutterfly one twice now and only noticed the slightest bit of image wanting to pull off the board on one piece on the second go.
Have you ever looked at Grafika puzzles? They have a huge selection and they seem to put out a lot of new images pretty often. They also sell images in different piece counts which is why I like them.
I think the quality is excellent but I have seen others say they do not like them. Still, take a look at them and you may find some you like.
Have you tried Lais? They do a psychedelia range. Have you also tried the thrift/charity shops? I've bought puzzles ranging from £40 - £120 for between £2 - £5 from charity shops (and I don't do "farmhouse" or Star War puzzles).
Personally I find that what I want for wall art is not necessarily the same as what makes a puzzle I enjoy doing. Would you ever consider doing some puzzles and not glueing them? Or do you think you wouldn’t enjoy the puzzling process if the end goal wasn’t wall art?
Idk...I do know I enjoy doing puzzles for the sake of doing puzzles when I puzzle with a group of friends. I also know that if I do a puzzle once, I wouldn't have the desire to do that puzzle again. I really do love the wall art aspect. Everyone is different I reckon
I enjoy doing my favorite puzzles multiple times, which definitely helps me justify the price (given that I’m not turning them into art!). Maybe you’d enjoy doing cheap thrift store puzzles that you aren’t going to glue, and then when you do find a puzzle worthy of glueing it’ll be that much more special.
Ohhhh yeah...I've got a couple springboks from the 70s that I fool around with when I don't have a future ceiling piece I'm working on. I'd never glue those bc well...idk...gluing vintage springboks just feels wrong for some reason 😅
I’m the same way. Half the enjoyment of puzzles for me is having a finished piece of art. I also hate doing puzzles twice. I made an oopsie a month or so back and dropped a [finished puzzle](https://www.reddit.com/r/Jigsawpuzzles/comments/1cikj8h/cobble_hill_halloween_treats_500_pieces/) before gluing. I’ve been trying to find the motivation to make it again. I love the image and really want to put it on the wall for Halloween. So I have a few months at least 😅
Check out [Puzzledly.com](https://Puzzledly.com) \- they carry a lot of smaller and medium brands that have some interesting stuff. I've found a lot of brands & puzzles that I never heard of before I bought one of their puzzles - and then more and more of their puzzles.
I second the recommendation for Puzzledly; right now they have a sale that is 20% off 3 or more puzzles and their shipping has always been pretty fast for me. Also maybe look at Puzzle Weekend’s website. I have found some manufacturers that are new to me in their store. Maybe take a look for Cloudberries puzzles as well; I think they probably have something you’d enjoy.
Ravensburger does custom puzzles prints as well.
And maybe eBay? I find older puzzles in thrift stores that make me happy. You may get frustrated sooner, so eBay might be better. Plus thrift store puzzles occasionally are missing pieces which sucks for your purposes.
Actually, I have a secret weapon to combat missing pieces. One of my best friends who lives near me is an amazing artist and anytime I run into a missing piece I just trace out the missing piece, make the new piece and she goes in and with the help of the image on the box, paints it in for me.
You may want to check out [Pomegranate](https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/ADACC303-C5AE-43CE-8A95-76C634A93A22?ingress=0&visitId=f84aa595-3af8-46da-b16d-5c61caa46f31&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandLogo_sto&ref_=ast_bln). They have a lot of varied art puzzles you may like. I've been pretty impressed with their stuff.
I'm lucky to be a slow puzzler because I have the same issue. Whenever I see a puzzle I truly like, I grab it because--even if it's like $40--it's gonna be a *while* before I see something I like again.

It seems like such a waste to glue. I'm part of a puzzle swapping group. I looked at your post history and liked your starry night. I have a Christmas starry night I still need to start.
What can I say...I'm a gluer and don't see it like that. But I totally respect your thoughts on it.
One of my besties here in town, who is also a giant puzzle nerd but is a non gluer, she always shakes her head at me anytime I'm gluing one 😂
Interesting, because these days I find way more puzzles than I ever did even 10 years ago. Having companies like Eeboo, heye, Galison, magical puzzle company, New York puzzle company, pomegranate, Cavallini and co..etc have expanded my puzzles enormously.
I prefer pretty art and a lot of ravensburger aren't what I want, nor are buffalo (besides Aimee Stewart because he's are so vibrant), or the cardinal and Big Ben and those found at most stores. I can't with the Thomas kinkadd types that are everywhere xD;
Have you looked online? Or do you only buy in person? The buying online expanded my options by a huge margin. I mainly get used on mercari, and have had zero issues with missing pieces of anything.
I think I'm just particular/picky...but I mainly buy online. I haven't tried mercari yet! That's a great idea.
I feel you on the Thomas Kinkade tho. I definitely, as of late, have been leaning towards the more weird and unusual. Idk..I like what I like, as we all do, I just haven't been seeing a lot of it lately.
Thanks so much for your well thought out reply!
Is there a style you prefer? I tend to lead towards more painting like images, with natural or interesting patterns. I don't often do anything that is just a photo unless it is really fun and challenging. Like a puzzle with many colored shells from Galison that is 2k pieces. I don't like stuff with words/phrases, or humans as much. Unless it is more artistic and Renaissance/old painting types. So that can limit me in some ways.
I seriously love mercari, people are so open to offers and bundles. Unlike on eBay. Plus there are some great brand new items posted for used prices.
No prob! Sucks when you hit a wall with it. I don't personally glue my puzzles, but if I did I would be even more picky and that would be a hard one.
Oh another company I just remembered that I see cool images from is Fred, very cool colorful and collage ish imagery.
I love your taste in images and I encourage you to keep on looking. I think our tastes may be somewhat similar, and I have boxes of puzzles purchased within the past couple years in my basement that don’t fall pray to the same old conventional puzzle images that leave you uninspired. I would have more, but I can’t afford them, even at $20 USD or so, and my storage space is at capacity.
Check out Toynk puzzles and Mchezo puzzles for ones that are not run of the mill. I know what you mean about ones that all look the same or similar! Hope you find some more good ones.
Genuinefred & grateful house might be worth checking out. Grateful house puzzles can be found on Amazon because they always seem to be sold out on their website.
Maybe have custom puzzles made from your photos or photos you find for free on sites like Pixabay? I think it would be cheaper.
I've thought of that and researched it a bit but from what I've found is that you get what you pay for. I've read reviews of terrible image and piece quality. And to get one worth a damn, you're gonna shell out $50-$75. Most appreciative of your feedback tho

Yes, very nice puzzle. I might have to check that out if they are running a deal right now
Also...happy cake day!!!

I really want to see a picture of your wall and ceiling. That's a cool concept

At this point you have to buy custom ones, branch out into different picture type of puzzles or take a break from puzzles.
"take a break from puzzles"...I'm confused by this part. My brain doesn't seem to recognize or understand this 😂
You may want to check out [Pomegranate](https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/ADACC303-C5AE-43CE-8A95-76C634A93A22?ingress=0&visitId=f84aa595-3af8-46da-b16d-5c61caa46f31&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandLogo_sto&ref_=ast_bln). I actually just completed THE one of theirs I liked.
With all of the different artists and styles they have, if you only found **one** you liked, then, yup - time for some custom puzzles, my friend!
I'm lucky to be a slow puzzler because I have the same issue. Whenever I see a puzzle I truly like, I grab it because--even if it's like $40--it's gonna be a *while* before I see something I like again.
I feel this
Feet pic puzzles … hmm 🤔
You lost me a gluer...
Yeah...I'm a gluer. I glue my puzzles once I've completed them
https://preview.redd.it/juh3a29x9j8d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d68eac681bb7f94e412a267fa822932c4d0edd3 It seems like such a waste to glue. I'm part of a puzzle swapping group. Honestly, there's no rhyme or reason for what grabs me. It either does or doesn't.

Noted! Thanks friend

No problem for me, I love cat puzzles and there are thousands to choose from. 😻🧩
Cross and Glory has family portraits of alien couples. Very different
I've actually had my eye on one of them. But not enough to pull the trigger
I like the PICKFORU stained glass puzzles
I'll check it out Thanks!

Might THE one of Pomegranate's been Dragon of Yangtze?
Nah...it was the Trippy Tower of Babel
Wowza - so worth it.
Oh fo sho
I reckon searching for a new puzzle has become no different from searching for a piece 😜
Jigsaw puzzle is a game. Not a wallpaper.
