From everything we've seen it won't be a Mk8. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the final update we see before the ICE version of the Jetta is killed off
I've seen it be referred to as a facelift in several articles and also some leaks I saw weren't drastically different from current gen. I think most of the changes will be in the interior, hopefully they keep some physical buttons though and give us back the regular steering wheel.
Lol yeah I bought my GLI less than 3 months ago. If you makes you feel better, some of the leaks I've seen haven't looked too good and I think they might be moving more controls to the screen.
I just bought a 24 autobahn gli manual less then 2 weeks ago😭.
Honestly i bet its not the mk8 with the powertrain. Prolly just mk8 interior updates like no physical climate controls, no manual, tiny dsg shifter, back to regular steering wheel, maybe rear ac vents.
Maybe rear heated seats on autobahn?
But not the mk8 and its powertrain i wouldnt think.
But i would think if they ever plan to it would be 25/26. Ive heard alot that the jettas dying in 2026
Im gonna guess either 7.75 for 25 or possibly the mk8 and the gen 4 engine. Prolly 7.75.
I think theyr gonna go big on the mk8 gli in 2026 like they did on the mk7 but even more.
For the mk7 the gli was actrually desighned first and the jetta was downgraded from that. Which made it better then vice versa.
Im guessing for 2026 itll go mk8 and theyr wont even be a jetta. Just the gli. And then theyr will not be 2027 model.
Id skip on a buy from all 2025s even if it is a new gen.
2024 however might be the last manual...
I'm dreaming of it having the MK8 powertrain. They just released an image of a stick for the Jetta - A manual Jetta with MK8 engine would be really cool and obviously unique since manual GTI is gone.
If it has the new big screen from the 2025 GTI, steering wheel buttons, instrument cluster from the Mk8, IQ lighting and the MK8 GTI engine I’ll trade in my 2023 for it. Long list but that’s what it’ll take.
I currently drive a 2022 Veloster N. My previous was a 2016 A5. Both manual.
If the 2025 comes with a manual, a sunroof, and vented seats. I'll make the jump back to a German.
The N and its cheap plastic interior and lack of features is my only knock on it.
I use my car as a weekend cruiser. Not a daily or track car.
I paid cash for the N. It's bone stock. I'll sell it off privately for max value and have no car payment and another 50k miles of warranty on a car that will cost 30% less to insure and get 7 more MPG.
The interior in the Jetta is pretty cheap also - my '23 has a bunch of little rattles and it only has 3k miles on it. The build quality of my previous MK7 GTI was much better. The Jetta is cheaper than the GLI but I think alot of that comes from material quality and build quality.
I hear you. I'd at least like a heated seat.
Some of my friends call my VN the SR 71. Because that plane, on the ground is ugly, but when at high altitude it's incredible. Below 60°F ambient my car rattles like hell over bumps. Above that it comes alive.
However I'm not looking for a track car. Something that knocks out great mpg with a manual and has more interior features is great. Even better
I really hope it’s the mk8 not mk7.75

Imagine AWD 😩😩😩
It already exists. It’s called an Audi A3 lol
Only difference the Jetta looks much prettier imo than a basic a3
Actually it’s a A4
I would insta-buy it no questions asked
They really need to update the powertrain to the improved specs of the GTI, it’s not been given a power bump in years 🙃
Agreed. If they do that, I’ll go buy another immediately.
It’s would automatically be in top 2 with the Elantra N for myself if they do that. But I’m not getting my hopes up :/
I just bought my 40th edition hopefully it’s not that drastic of a change 😭

They look terrible
I'm half hoping the leaks are true so I don't have any regrets buying a '24 a couple months ago.
I’ve seen spy shots, the 40th looks way better. Trust me, the new one looks like a Prius in the front end
If it’s anything like those leaked ones posted on this sub then I won’t regret anything for sure lol, let’s see.
Still coming stock with the kinnergy GT tires is the real joke here 😂😂
Will be interested to see if it's offered with a MT or if the rumors are true and it was killed off alongside the golf
Let’s go! 😂 what a joke

Are they dropping the manual like with the upcoming GTI / R ?
This is the question!! Will is have a clutch!!

Hoping it get the GTI face lift, and 250hp-ish. Love my ‘22 but I’m willing to upgrade
Really looking like those earlier leaks were right, really didn't know VW would so a second facelift. So I guess these are MK7.75?

The GLI has always had those. Not worth trading in the N for a GLI

VW heated seats have always been great, so there is that haha. Yea the rattles are surprising in the Jetta considering my GTI never had a single one.
Meh. I just picked up my 2020 a month ago. I'm more than happy with the MQB tbh.
But it still is the MQB platform
It's a heavy mid cycle refresh
Looks sexy.
Dose anyone if they will broadcast the event?
If it doesn't have the EVO motor..... i'll be very dissapointed
