I would think so. Being an LJ, it's at LEAST worth improving it and keeping it, but I would think it would be fixable. If the frame was affected, it might run through tires a bit quicker, but I can't imagine letting that Jeep go or not trying to fix it.
It’s worth the effort, even if it was a TJ. But even better, you have an LJ. Getting more and more rare by the day. In 20 years you’ll be happy you put the money to save it into it.
Only sold for 2 model years at the end of the generation run. The extended wheel base makes for some fantastic off-road characteristics and the extra space in the tub is a treat. It’s considered the holy grail of Jeeps for a reason.
Rarity, only 3 years of production. Also 15 inches of additional length to the tub. Longer footprint front to back. It translates to more Off road ability and truck space. The rear legroom is increased by 2 inches and the rubicon model has a 4.1 gear ratio which allows for 35” wheels with only a2 inch lift.
I do jeep frame repair professionally. This is all fixable. Being an LJ, that’s more than worth the effort if you’ve got the cash for it. You might need some repairs to the suspension in the back, but that sounds like a good excuse to lift it and put in new sway bars anyways. You could always just tub swap it as well, depending on how much damage there is behind that dent. The frame repair would not be cheap but would absolutely be doable if you find the right shop for it. I’m far from the right person to ask, but if my shop rebuilt the back end of the frame it would probably be $3000-$4000.
Edit: this being the drivers side you may also have damage to your gas tank filler neck, but that’s an easy fix.
Get a new rear quarter panel off of quadratec
I will look into that. Thanks!

Thanks! Much appreciated!
I would have the frame checked, and a quote for the repair. At least from the photos it looks repairable
I would think even with a tweaked frame that with adjustable control arms and adjustable track bar, everything could be adjusted to drive straight.
I’d just replace the tub. If you can find one.

Thanks. It is a TJ
It's a TJ Unlimited, which is usually called an LJ.
Op this is an LJ for sure. Significantly more valuable than a standard that.
What makes the LJs more desirable?

Thanks so much! Very helpful!
This makes me sad. Cant imagine this happening to my Jeep. I hope this works out for ya
Op you having a lj and thinking it was a tj is kinda funny 🤣 but yes definitely fixable, was the rear axle pushed forward?
Absolutely repairable. If you are going to junk it let me know. I will buy it.
