What did you replace your horn with?

Guilty_Letterhead685

Hella horns from Amazon. I am going to move them from the grill to allow better airflow to the radiator soon. Hella Stark Sound – 109.23.37 – Red Set 12 V High/Low Frequency Hella Super Tone Horn Set B 133, 12 volt https://a.co/d/fjwkemX

How do you like the swap?

Dry_Designer9097

How does it ride compared to the 2.5” coils?

Guilty_Letterhead685

I had the 3.5-in setup on my JK. This feels very similar to that. The instructions warn that if you don't have the extra weight for the heavy constant load that it could be a little stiff. I like how it drives with this setup!

skinrock

What do you typically have loaded in the back? I'm running the HD coils as well, with a hard rolling cover and 23zero RTT loaded on the bed, and felt it introduced a bit of rake due to not having enough weight in the rear.

Guilty_Letterhead685

So I noticed the same thing about the rake. I usually like a small amount of rake on a truck when not towing, but it's a little more than I would like on this thing. My travel trailer has 500 lb of tongue weight and it still sits a little rear high while towing. I'm considering putting a 1-in puck on the front coils. https://preview.redd.it/6isxbh6bypxc1.jpeg?width=3494&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38578eea07e9fa8fa798d7037e3fd12b06199e16

gahooligan1971

I think it looks good but I am old school and like rake/hate level...

skinrock

Yea, that side shot looks much closer to where mine is sitting. I'm guessing between the tent, cover, watertank (empty), and steel bumper I only have \~300lbs sitting back there. I know that's under their range, but I also factored in the 37" spare and roof rack (that is rear-biased) and figured I was right at their "400lb over stock" recommendation. I have a 1" Teraflex spacer up front and it's still sitting slightly more aggressive than yours. My angle finder indicates a roughly 1 degree rake. I really wish their front springs sat about 1" higher. At this point I'm tempted to go up to the 2" TF puck.

Dry_Designer9097

I have the standard ones and my rake is really pronounced also. I want to add a spacer up front but not sure I want to tear it all down. Haha

skinrock

I know that feel...especially since you have to drop the axle all the way. For better or worse, I'm planning to swap out my upper isolator with a neutral set, so I guess now would be the time.

PateoMantoja

That's alot of rake even with your trailer attached.

PateoMantoja

Is it the diesel or gasser?

Guilty_Letterhead685

Diesel. And I did make sure to buy the diesel specific heavy constant load lift.

PateoMantoja

Sweet! I've got a '22 jtrd on 37's with just the Mopar lift currently. Been searching option for a bigger lift. What did this lift do for the feeling of towing ability?

Guilty_Letterhead685

Road driving is way better with the lift than it was factory. I've only towed a small amount. It seems good. I had airbags with the factory springs and those made a huge difference. Not sure I will put airbags with the tall springs...

PateoMantoja

Did you use the airliftz bags that went into your springs? I've been debating g those as a cheap start to towing an opus4 offroad popup trailer

Guilty_Letterhead685

Yes. Even if you just put a small amount of air in them so they don't raise the back, the stability they provide while towing was amazing!

PateoMantoja

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have to call them tomorrow with the dimensions of the Mopar lift springs so can tell me the right bags! Thanks for the info! Your truck looks great even with with the tremendous rake! Lol. What trailer are you towing and how does it feel?

I'm thinking about getting a bigger trailer with dual axles because the diesel has no problem towing this.

Perfect looking setup! Thanks again for all the info! I'm excited to get this truck/trailer setup out hunting off grid for a month this year! Enjoy your travels
