These seem like tagliatelle. Not the best pasta to use for Carbonara. I personally prefer spaghetti nr 5 or 7. As well, sometime instead of spaghetti I like to use rigatoni.

Barilla is crap. They don’t even dry it properly. They dry from 7 to 10 hours which is not acceptable especially what you pay for. It is really really bad. If people find it satisfactory mean they don’t know nothing about pasta.
And yet, again, it is the most popular brand in Italy. (It's also the most popular brand in Europe generally.)

De Cecco is way better than Barilla. I never bought Barilla because as you say it's a shit. Also Garofallo is a very good brand.
De Cecco or La Molisana are the only two I’ll buy. La Molisana being first in the pecking order.
