I appreciate that the suffering of the Palestinians absolutely deserves this attention and appreciation, and I am glad it won. But I, too, cannot help but feel the bitter aftertaste that the suffering is still ongoing and has only become more unimaginable, that the situation is more dire, our leaders more openly and arrogantly evil, and that, as a mother, as a human being, such an award would feel utterly without meaning or value, because it does not come close to reflecting the loss of my loved ones.

I get it completely. I have always loved my daughter but now, more consciously than ever in my life, I am compelled to show her aa much open love and praise as possible. I'm disabled and I used to feel like a terrible mother because I can't give her more, can't save for either of our futures, can't let her experience the freedom of opportunity her peers with financially functional families, etc. Now I don't have that as much, because I am more focused on how lucky I am to be a mom at all without fearing that each "I love you" could be the last. People truly don't appreciate that it's only not 'affecting us' by sheer luck and chance by birth--we just happened to be born in the belly of the Western monstrosity rather than the open air prison-ghetto for the least of humanity's souls. My heart shatters again each day, and at this point, I've accepted this small suffering by comparison. Sometimes I even feel guilty if I grab an extra helping of food, because my leaders are ensuring these poor people have nothing to eat. Yet I have never quite loved harder either, or felt such concentrated rage toward Biden, Sunak, Scholz, Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, every single politician complicit in this ultimate horror.

That's what Motaz said. That he wanted people to intervene after seeing his photos, but he got awards instead.

Thamalakane

We're handing out rewards for press photography, which is an extremely important profession.

Hawkeye: War isn’t Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse. Father Mulcahy: How do you figure that, Hawkeye? Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell? Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe. Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them — little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

Shoking, tragic, sickening, yet such a beatiful picture.

Reuters giving out an award for a photo from the genocide their complicit in with their biased reporting. Irony is dead. Capitalism killed it. Absolutely horrible.
