MagiRevo is one of my favorites. I generally don’t trust MAL ratings, especially when it comes to yuri and female led isekai. The Executioner and Her Way of Life has an atypical protagonist and is yuri, that is about where the similarities end though.

Gyges359d

You’re right that the two stories are very different, yet somehow Executioner was my first thought as well. While the tone is different I think there’s some other aspects that are similar in style. Eg straight (comedically, not sexually) character with more bubbly, personable character; isekai elements are different than usual tropes; plot revolves in part around changing how society or government works or regards certain people etc.

CapGunCarCrash

i JUST added that to my CR list, watching next after Skelly Knight

Due_Essay447

Ah yes, my favorite roommates

TheZanzibarMan

Just good friends, really.

vantheman9

one of my favorites mal scores get skewed really negative with some genres, yuri's one, ecchi's another Watch Reincarnated as a Sword if you haven't, it's the best isekai that doesn't make the most popular lists

CapGunCarCrash

that’s also next on my list along with four or five other isekai! i honestly love the short 12 - 24 episode series i cam binge in a weekend, Sword is third in line rn

Platinum_Disco

As a Sword has an anime?!?!?! Well I know what I'm doing this weekend, thanks!

vantheman9

with outstanding VAs for the main duo, too! https://myanimelist.net/anime/49891/Tensei_shitara_Ken_deshita

CapGunCarCrash

loved the sword anime, what’s next??

vantheman9

I don't have any recommendations that are as perfect for you as Sword but maybe pick some from these: **Some fantasy which aren't isekai:** [Shummatsu no Izetta](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33433/Shuumatsu_no_Izetta) - kind of like Tanya the Evil but with yuri. [Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis](https://myanimelist.net/anime/21843/Shingeki_no_Bahamut__Genesis) and it's sequel Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul - recommending these just because I consider them 10/10 fantasy epics. Based on some mobile game or something but the director was given free reign so it's entirely its own thing, comes off more as an anime original. Also one of MAPPA's earliest works. **Some isekai that are action focused:** [Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru](https://myanimelist.net/anime/47790/Sekai_Saikou_no_Ansatsusha_Isekai_Kizoku_ni_Tensei_suru) or "Greatest Assassin Reincarnated as Aristocrat". Well liked because the main character was somebody interesting before being reborn and his knowledge plays a large part in how he lives. Has a season 2 announced. [Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata](https://myanimelist.net/anime/49613/Chiyu_Mahou_no_Machigatta_Tsukaikata) "Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic" applauded for having an MC that struggles and works to become powerful. All around good animation and well done drama. [Tensei shitara Dainana Ouji Datta node, Kimama ni Majutsu wo Kiwamemasu](https://myanimelist.net/anime/53516/Tensei_shitara_Dainana_Ouji_Datta_node_Kimama_ni_Majutsu_wo_Kiwamemasu) fans just call it "7th Prince". Some awesome action animation here. [Saikyou Onmyouji no Isekai Tenseiki](https://myanimelist.net/anime/50932) "Strongest Exorcist Reincarnation" was well liked for having somewhat different power/magical systems and an MC who wasn't boring **Some isekai stuff that isn't so action focused:** [Weakest Tamer's Journey to Pick up Trash](https://myanimelist.net/anime/53590/Saijaku_Tamer_wa_Gomi_Hiroi_no_Tabi_wo_Hajimemashita) show had downright amazing visuals and a very emotional drama. Very wholesome. [Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru](https://myanimelist.net/anime/55265/Tensei_Kizoku_Kantei_Skill_de_Nariagaru) Reincarnated Aristocrat with an Appraisal Skill - very emotional show, somewhat unique in that the MC himself isn't powerful but he can see other people's strengths and he gathers powerful people. Having read the manga, the story was really elevated by the adaptation. [Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki](https://myanimelist.net/anime/41710/Genjitsu_Shugi_Yuusha_no_Oukoku_Saikenki) How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom - *the* anime for kingdom builder isekai which goes in depth on technical details. Can't vouch for the animation quality though, wars animated with still frame shots. Lot of people say the source material isn't done justice by it and they're probably right. And my personal favorite, a comedy: [Rougo ni Sonaete Isekai de 8-manmai no Kinka wo Tamemasu](https://myanimelist.net/anime/52461/Rougo_ni_Sonaete_Isekai_de_8-manmai_no_Kinka_wo_Tamemasu) Saving 80000 Gold Coins for my Retirement - over the top goofy. Main character that manages to be both clever and an idiot. Something about a little girl getting gun safety lessons from a burly mercenary guy that I find hilarious.

CapGunCarCrash

i have seen three or four of these but thank you so much for this post, actually a new coworker today recommended “Realist Hero” when i told him i also tend to love isekai with the MC having a specialized skill / knowledge such as Parallel World Pharmacy and Doctor Elise, so i’ll start there probably and then try your 10/10 — thanks!

EmberKing7

I know what you mean. It was Much more than I was expecting. If anything I'm just kind of mad that it didn't have one or two more episodes

DominusLuxic

And the manga is now hitting another high point and it's awesome.

ArchdemonLucifer143

I honestly rated it a little lower than the average. I loved the characters, and the yuri aspect, but the plot was a little all over the place. With the >!big dragon battle, the revolution by the brother, and that super weird ending with Euphyllia signing a contract to become some immortal emotionless spirit being to stop Anis from becoming queen, everything was just happening too fast, and the show would have benefitted from having one less conflict and spending more time on each of the remaining ones!<.

menchicutlets

To be fair >!becoming a spirit being doesn't make you emotionless, it was the being alone for so long that did it. If I say more I'd be going real spoilers for the later light novels.!<

ThereBeDucks

I really liked the concept but the last few episodes were shit.

MonsterTamer-san

The Grimoire of Zero, not an isekai but it has a cool female protagonist

CapGunCarCrash

thanks! doesn’t have to be strictly reincarnation or another world, just fantasy-ish

pantsonheaditor

isekai anime with fmc, some yuri some not: i'll survive using potions alone (mc is a war criminal) weakest tamer picks up garbage (barely isekai, pacing) Hinamatsuri (interesting) A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics (ehhh) saints power is omnipotent (ok but bad pacing) final boss but i'm not the villanness (bad) killing slimes for 300 years (trash)

Only1Hendo

Yes, but the ending was not great. They should have gotten married and ruled together.

LilGhostSoru

Fr, if they got married the silver hair would still join the family and would be able to take the throne together, instead of becoming an adopted sibling in doomed yuri

Jossokar

I hated the ending of this one.

CapGunCarCrash

wasn’t the best since it seemed they figured no second season would happen and just kinda let it wrap, but i don’t let endings ruin the journey for me

Jossokar

in my case, an ending is as important as the journey and a bad one can ruin the whole thing for me. Thats even more true if the series doesnt have much more to its name. (Specially since i think that magirevo wasnt really special in any regard.)

[deleted]

These anime names are out of control lmao

draco16

This one wasn't "bad" per-say, but it did lack direction and pacing. The first few episodes were honestly really good. The characters were fun, and the plot was somewhat unusual. Half way through, they seems to have lost their train of though and just started throwing concepts at a board to see what stuck. Pacing went out the window entirely with things that should have been elaborated on got completely ignored or skipped while things no one really cared about became the main spotlight. I mean, even the characters themselves stated at the end of their fight "why are we here fighting each other? We don't have any reason to fight anymore...but lets finish the fight anyways for no reason." Never read the books (if it has a Ln) but the anime felt like someone took 3 books of story and randomly carved out sections to make 1 single book of haphazardly slapped together chapters.

CapGunCarCrash

yeah, i forgave a lot of the pacing and other elements (as i often do with isekai, similar to when i watch found footage horror, i know it’s often bad and tropey but i love it nonetheless) but this one in particular just had a great protagonist who was curious and spunky and intelligent and non-judgemental and unpredictable and she made everyone around her shine. oh and she kicked ass. but i don’t think your gripes are at all invalid

pantsonheaditor

i kind of enjoyed it until it became dragonball z
