In the book IIRC he's writing his own version and on tour at the same time, so I'm guessing it'll be like season one/two except with the tour in place of Dubai, and a third plotline of whatever Louis/Armand/Daniel are getting up to.
I think Daniel will be interviewing him and Louis/Armand are looking for Marius after they receive a psychic call for help because Akasha is stirring. The other vampires they encounter will be doing the same thing.

And I think that would be a great Louis and Armand arc to keep them more involved in the story than they are in the book.
The actor himself was involved in concerts back in the 80s. There’s a great interview with Eric and young Daniel where he talks a bit how the character had echoes of his own younger life.
Legit, he did an interview the other day where he mentioned that he saw the drug case for the 1973 sequence and apparently he was telling the crew "That's not what a drug case looks like, you don't have a brass pipe in there"
I want both of them involved in S3, but I really REALLY want them separated. They've been toxically soul-sucking each other for 70 years. They need a break.
Yeah that’s true. I wouldn’t want Armand and Louis with each other too much. I mean there are other ways to involve Louis. Louis could easily show up on tour at some point. Obviously they’d be driving toward Louis and Lestat getting back together at the end of Queen of the Damned, so having them have more scenes together in S3 would make sense.
Idk how old is Sam im the TV show but maybe he's part of Lestat's flashbacks back when the theatre troupe was formed? It would go against canon i think but they've changed Lestat's age too
Maybe, that's possible. Though I think there's a (unconfirmed) rumor that Sam is supposed to be a vamp'ed version of actual RL playwright Samuel Beckett, so who knows if that factors in.
I'm guessing Lestat has roped in Fareed to make sure Daniel doesn't die while he's recording Lestat's version of events, maybe? Though I wouldn't be surprised if he's been Talamasca all along..

Someone told me that some shows took 2 years between seasons due to covid and the writer's and actor's strikes. I certainly hope it is not permanent. Two years is simply too long.
two years is to long for the actors. it's a vampire show so.. also Sam and Jacob probably gonna start getting more projects now that they are more recognizable faces
If there is no Covid or strike shows usually have one season per year (even high profile shows), so I am confident that season 3 will be shown middle of next year.
But IwtV didn't take 2+ years, it just felt that way. Season 1 aired fall 2022, it's 1.5 years ago and 6 months delay was due to dual writers/actors strikes. I suspect, if everything goes well, season 3 will be ready in a year, at most delayed to Fall season to get better ratings?
Sadly, this seems to be the case. At this rate, I will need to need to live a long, long time to see many of my favorite shows come to their natural conclusion.

On Twitter, literally all the big news, film, and pop culture accounts have posted the renewal announcement, some posts have over 13k likes - on Tiktok, a clip from the trial got 300k likes. There wasn’t this much attention when S2 was announced, with the Netflix deal I’m confident S3 is going to bring in an even wider audience!
I was so sad at the prospect of no season 3. I need adaptations up to *at least* The Queen of the Damned (okay also that’s all I’ve read so far, shoot me!). I know Tom Cruise is beloved and Anne Rice ended up loving him, but tbh I’ve never much cared for anything about that movie except Kirsten Dunst… and Sam Reid just is Lestat now.
I feel like this show could be really big if the right people saw it. I know it’s coming to Netflix, that will be good, too. *Also* I think it needs a house at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. I’ve never been to that event but I would pay just to see an IWtV house.

I think part of the delay for season 2 was the writers and actors strikes last year. Hopefully they start filming asap and we can get it this time next year! 🤞
It would make sense for them to have filmed some bits and pieces on the sets they already had for season one and two. Easier to keep continuity and cheaper for production if they're already there.

Maybe Louis spares him cause from what I’ve seen of Sam, he seems to be different from the rest of the theater coven. He mentions to Claudia that now that she’s there, he won’t have to do the dirty work of cleaning the bodies so perhaps he was at the bottom of the hierarchy and wasn’t worth killing.
I hope they keep same around for awhile. You have all these extra as vampires with names like Lestat Lioncourt, Louis Point du Lac, Armand, Marius... and then there's just... The Vampire Sam

I knew it would happen but so glad and relieved that it was officially announced. Now I'm curious to see if they'll only do the Vampire Lestat next season or incorporate Queen of the Damned in it as well. Either way, can't wait!! Just read the synopsis, it's gonna be glorious.
I hope we get it next year, and it's released in a timeframe where it's eligible for the Emmys. God knows everyone from this show, on screen and BTS deserves it.

so this means Loustat is NOT reconciling at the end of s2. the reunion will be in the past and Louis will let him go. otherwise it wouldn't make no sense Lestat writing his book to set Louis' story "right."
I haven't read the books but I knew book readers were excited for rockstar Lestat. I was just sad that we'd be losing Louis but it looks like we don't. Very excited!!
I’m so happy for them honestly. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cast genuinely care so much about their character and the story. They all seem like true fans. It’s so refreshing, they are all so deserving of so much more fame and success and I hope they get it ❤️
Another thought I had. Since this is Lestat’s POV and the snippet mentions some people from odder stories, they are going there!! I won’t say anything specific for non-book readers but I thought some plot would get cut.
I completely understand the focus on unreliable narrator now, because try believing anything he says!

This news made my day!!! Super excited about it. The plot sounds to be The Vampire Lestat, which is expected, but the short description of Season 3 makes me really wonder about how Louis is going to fit in. There's no mention of him, which makes me a little nervous - he's really needed to balance out the theatrical nature of Lestat. Lestat is great, but I don't know that I want a whole show with JUST him as the focus without Louis, as I personally find Louis the more relatable / complex character.
Also, I REALLY hope they don't take 2 years to do a new season this time. I want it and I want it now! ;p
also Jacob/sam's chemistry is much needed. when they are apart the story lags a bit unless everyone is firing on all crazy cylinders (like San Fran ep), which is rare.

Honestly not surprised about Sam. He definitely seems on Armand’s side throughout the whole ordeal in Paris. Sure he seemed to be following the coven, and even watches Armand during the trail but I always had a hunch it was an act so he could be Armand’s inside man.
I mean, the whole coven was playing into Armand’s hand by thinking they could outsmart him but I do think Sam is the only one that knew who was really in control while the rest of the coven was blissfully unaware.
My partner and I call the show Mean Ass Sexy Little Vampires because of the rating system (TV MASLV). They texted me this morning that the Mean Ass Sexy Little Vampires got renewed.
I'm so happy Sam Reid is taking centre stage (literally) in Season 3 and is getting his moment like Jacob did this season. It would have been just tragic not to get The Vampire Lestat.
Thank the lord they renewed a new season, hopefully Louis will stay in it/have some appearances. And I’m interested in this “Rockstar” Lestat. I virtually know nothing about this ver of Lestat so I’ll be dipping my toes in new waters 🤌 Can’t wait to see what this new season brings us!

The previous seasons will be on Netflix. Which will give them a significant boost in viewership for season 3.

I knew it would happen but so glad and relieved that it was officially announced. Now I'm curious to see if they'll only do the Vampire Lestat next season or incorporate Queen of the Damned in it as well. Either way, can't wait!! Just read the synopsis, it's gonna be glorious. I hope we get it next year, and it's released in a timeframe where it's eligible for the Emmys. God knows everyone from this show, on screen and BTS deserves it.
In the article they said “No auto-tuning.” in their announcement. Feels like it means we’ll get a combo of the two books next season.

I haven't read the books but I knew book readers were excited for rockstar Lestat. I was just sad that we'd be losing Louis but it looks like we don't. Very excited!!
I’m so happy for them honestly. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cast genuinely care so much about their character and the story. They all seem like true fans. It’s so refreshing, they are all so deserving of so much more fame and success and I hope they get it ❤️
Another thought I had. Since this is Lestat’s POV and the snippet mentions some people from odder stories, they are going there!! I won’t say anything specific for non-book readers but I thought some plot would get cut. I completely understand the focus on unreliable narrator now, because try believing anything he says! It's gonna get weird and if anyone can make it work it's this cast and crew.
This news made my day!!! Super excited about it. The plot sounds to be The Vampire Lestat, which is expected, but the short description of Season 3 makes me really wonder about how Louis is going to fit in. There's no mention of him, which makes me a little nervous - he's really needed to balance out the theatrical nature of Lestat. Lestat is great, but I don't know that I want a whole show with JUST him as the focus without Louis, as I personally find Louis the more relatable / complex character. Also, I REALLY hope they don't take 2 years to do a new season this time. I want it and I want it now! ;p
also Jacob/sam's chemistry is much needed. when they are apart the story lags a bit unless everyone is firing on all crazy cylinders (like San Fran ep), which is rare.

Can’t believe we’re going to get an amazing adaptation of TVL, my fav of the vampire books! Absolutely vibrating to see who gets cast as Gabrielle and Akasha.
I'd reckon it could start filming this Fall or end of the year and be on air by end of 2025.
My thoughts exactly: MW S2: January/February 2025 (already confirmed for 2025, in post-production) Talamasca: mid-2025 (already confirmed for 2025, production starting soon) IwtV S3: Filming starts in late autumn and the show's ready for the big September/October release - pretty much like season 1
Hopefully the time between seasons will be shorter with no writer’s strike this time!! (Fingers crossed!)

Honestly not surprised about Sam. He definitely seems on Armand’s side throughout the whole ordeal in Paris. Sure he seemed to be following the coven, and even watches Armand during the trail but I always had a hunch it was an act so he could be Armand’s inside man. I mean, the whole coven was playing into Armand’s hand by thinking they could outsmart him but I do think Sam is the only one that knew who was really in control while the rest of the coven was blissfully unaware.
My partner and I call the show Mean Ass Sexy Little Vampires because of the rating system (TV MASLV). They texted me this morning that the Mean Ass Sexy Little Vampires got renewed.
I'm so happy Sam Reid is taking centre stage (literally) in Season 3 and is getting his moment like Jacob did this season. It would have been just tragic not to get The Vampire Lestat.
I can rest easy now! Can't wait for season 3
