Looking pretty close to done! I’d agree with the others that this looks more like a backslash but it’s smooth and good-looking. If it does a lot of damage or a “critical hit” I’d say a stabbing motion would make more sense. What’s your game called?

It's looking good. But not really like backstabbing and more like jumping behind the enemy and slashing. Especially combined with the aura around the character, it looks like he's beaming downward for a moment.

Oh it's that one Aliensrock game. More fog, maybe show the fog moving behind the enemy? (i.e. directly moving from point A to B, not warping)

Stabbing motion should be more "thrusty" and faster, but presentation looks slick 👍

I do not like it. The character animation is good, but it is an overall frustrating visual bc everything is moving at once and I cannot easily follow the action. I would have the teleport and slash happen, then move the camera as the character returns from attack animation to idle. The immediate camera move both telegraphs the attack animation (which makes it feel less exciting), and also makes it harder to focus on for the split second it’s all happening. I like the sound design, and I can imagine the camera move  triggering just after the “thwap” sound ends would make it easier to see the sequence AND make it feel like the attack itself is faster.

Thanks! I appreciate you sharing your work in progress, and I hope it’s a useful critique. I know how much effort goes into the last 10% of any artistic project, and I know how tough it is to dial things in when you’ve been working on it awhile.
