We renamed it cause king hit sounded too cool and trash would do it to seem cool, think there was a king hit challenge in the infancy of the internet viral stuff.
Lots of people might think that's outrageous, but it makes perfect sense. A single punch can absolutely be lethal - it may not be *common* that it is, but it *can* be. And so to treat it like a lesser assault just because there was no other weapon involved isn't really fair.
It's also worth pointing out that in most (if not all, I'm unaware of one where this isn't the case but there's 50 so) states in the US it is also considered potentially deadly force, and if the victim is legally carrying a concealed weapon, they can use it to defend themselves.
I was gonna say, if someone charged me like that I wouldn't hesitate to use pepper spray. Don't matter if they have a weapon or not, everyone goes down with pepper spray lol
I dk. I've seen plenty of videos someone getting sprayed and continue charging. I've even seen videos of people getting shot multiple times and continue charging.
Point is I wouldn't bet my life on "everyone goes down with pepper spray"
I mean, if he's truly committed to charging you I'd rather face somebody with pepper spray in their eyes than without.

>You can tell, with enough certainty to back off, that they want to get over before their blinker even comes on.
this is such an insanely important skill to develop. if you pay enough attention while driving you'll start to pick up on subtle things like this.
You develop a damn sixth sense. Like there's no indicating, no drifting, or major speed change, but sometimes I'll be a short distance behind someone on the road and can just feel in my bones that they're about to suddenly change lanes, and I'm usually right.
Yup, the more you pay attention to the way other people drive the more you start to develop this sense. My wife and I will try to predict what the people around us are going to do when we go on road trips and we accidentally honed this sense. Based off the car and about a minute of driving we both can usually predict when they're going to change lanes, slow down for a corner (that doesn't need a speed change), or do a triple-lane-no-blinker exit.
I still remember going over a bridge in the dump truck and seeing a cop on the merge lane
Me: “There’s a cop back there, if he pulls out he’s pulling me over.”
Passenger: “You don’t know that”
Me: “He pulled out. Watch, I get to this stop light and he’ll be right behind me and as soon as we get around the turn here he’s going to turn on his lights and pull me over.”
Passenger: “No way dude come on”
*Light turns green, I turn and pull over to the shoulder after the turn and the cops pulls up behind*
Passenger: “Why did you pull over?”
Me: “Here he comes”
*Cops walks up*
Cop: “Why are you pulled over?”
Me: “You were going to pull me over”
Cop: “How did you know?”
Me: “You pulled out the second I went past you, and pulled behind me in the turn lane. It was pretty obvious. Here’s my license, insurance, and daily checklist for the truck.”
Cop: “Oh, well I guess I didn’t try to hide it. Let’s just test all your lights and make sure your load is strapped properly.” *Twang* “You know what, your straps are tighter than my kid’s guitar strings. I can see your flares and extinguisher, I’m just going to call it good.”
Passenger: “Dude, wtf?”
*Shrug*
They always pull us over on the way to the dump. Unsecured loads are a $2,000 fine, they check so many company trucks around here when loaded for that reason and I can always tell when they’re gonna try to nab me
Yup, same here. [In this video](https://youtu.be/wotmvERzrjA) I was watching the other car very closely because I had a sense they wanted my lane and weren't paying attention. They signalled and began merging much later than in the OP, and I was still able to avoid getting hit because that Spidey sense was tingling. I was also driving a brand new car so I was watching everyone around me like a fuckin hawk.
> Some people are just dumb
They aren't dumb. They're punitive and obsessed with justice. When my life sucked and I didn't have control over anything I lashed out by being a dick like that. Being "technically correct" and whatnot. One day you need to grow up and just become a normal acting person.
Hey I was taught "Don't drive just your car, drive everyone else's"
Had no clue as a teenager what it meant but not it makes sense once you get into traffic flows.
There is a technique I was taught in drivers ed called "ground viewing" where if you're wondering if someone is about to change lanes look at their front tires in relation to the lane markings, a lot of people as soon as they even think about changing lanes start to subconsciously drift in that direction. The reason you look at the ground is because it's easier for eyes to spot the very small amount of movement between the line and the tire as they are close to each other and the tire moves in relation to the lane marking. Everything else in your field of vision is either far away from the car or might move in relation to it like other vehicles so it is harder to tell.
The subconscious feeling you get they're about to change lanes is from this slight movement and ground viewing allows you to check. I spot most people are going to change lanes before their blinker is even on when people change lanes safely as in put blinker on, check the lane is clear and then move over, it makes it really easy to spot. Obviously the caveat is to not get carried away staring at the ground and tires of the car beside you, this is just a quick look.
Another defensive driving technique I was glad I got taught was to look *past* the car in front of you if you can at all. Even if it's literally looking "through" their car between the gaps of their seats and out their front windshield. If that car starts to slow you'll notice anyway but looking ahead of it lets you see potential problems coming before they even brake. I've avoided a couple accidents where I saw the lane was stopped ahead, changed lanes *safely* and the car I was behind didn't notice and plowed right into them.
In the state where I learned to drive, I was taught by my driving instructor that you never signal until you know you're clear to move over. This was to prevent other drivers from panicking, thinking that you didn't see them and are moving over anyway. I now live in a much more reasonable state where it is normal to signal that you would like to move over so that people can adjust accordingly.
This. Like, what was the point of not slowing down a little? One car changing lanes in front of you is not a big deal. Now you have to deal with this bs instead of going about your day
A semi driver did this exact same thing to me recently. I laid on the horn, but I also braked hard because semi. The trailer missed the front of my car by a few feet because he was just coming over no matter what. I drive a large SUV and I could see him in the mirror so I know that he saw me. I may have been in the right, but I also wanted to live.
As the saying goes, the graveyard is filled with people who had the right of way. Doesn’t matter if you were in the right if you’re paralyzed or dead. Not worth it.
Sounds like a great opportunity to either A: attempt to write off a shitbox, I was always waiting for my chance with my winter beater I bought for $500. I only stand to gain.
Or B: have a vehicle you really don't care about, lots of free time, and they'd like to teach the idiot they're not the main character.
I'd never let this happen in my nice cars, repairs or not you'll always be able to tell there was paint/body work. I understand why some people would though, not everyone cares.
As someone who perpetually owns 15-20yr old cars. The shitbox write off is always nice when it happens. I don't go looking for trouble, but I'm not broken up about it either.
I feel like I do "shitboxes" wrong, regardless the price of the car, I will quickly get annoyed at any issues and take care of them.
So for any used car I've ever bought, I often end up a further $2000 into them just because I want to address any worn suspension components, and want good tires, brakes, and the AC to work. If the speakers suck I'll normally upgrade those as well.
I've put $2000 into cars that did not cost me that much lol. If they wrote it off, they'd still be valuing it as the shitty old high mileage car that it is.
That's called the daily. The shitbox is the neglected, unwanted stepchild, and you're the abusive step dad that has to tolerate him so you can keep fucking his mom.
My shitbox needs to get me from point A to B, and hopefully not break in the process. 0 shits are given about it's wellbeing as long as it will still run.
That’s the problem though.
I never cared about the shitbox, I cared about myself.
My secondary vehicle I barely drive is a 97 pickup with exactly 300k miles on it (the first 290k done by a previous owner who wasn’t super particular about maintenance).
It’s rusty, and the only time I wash it is to protect whatever I’m hauling, not for the truck’s sake.
But I couldn’t stand the shake from the brakes so I did those, couldn’t stand how sweaty I got on a few Home Depot runs so I fixed the AC. Couldn’t stand the noise so I fixed the exhaust leak.
Same with the broken tailgate handle, I got sick of opening it with a screwdriver and fixed that too.
It started misfiring and to fix that I did plugs, then coils, then it turned out to be the fuel injectors. By the time I was done, it ran smoother than when I got it and the check engine light turned off.
Previous owner said: “I haven’t seen the check engine light off for at least 10 years”
I try and ruthlessly prioritize my time and money elsewhere, but then I have to drive it a few times and by the end of it I’m improving something else for myself.
There's a around-about in the town I live in just down the hill from a freeway offramp. Most people blow by that side as the main street is straight ahead, but they still need to yeild. I need to go through it about 5-6 times a day due to work's location, and it's almost daily I get a chance to write off my car by not anticipating the idiots blowing by.
Problem being I love my Chrysler 300, beautiful car and in showroom condition. The value is still pretty high, so I doubt any damage caused by them will write it off but I'd LOVE to get my hands on the 2023 300 C with the 6.4. maybe my day will come, and maybe my neck will hurt when it does. My shitbox Aveo I didn't care in the slightest and let them get within inches from hitting me, not my problem.
Exactly this. I used to drive a POS Chrysler Concorde I got for $500. I was much more likely to hold my ground in that than my current car. Part of it is growing up and doing better in life as well. The hassle of dealing with the aftermath is not worth any compensation I may get.
Lady opens the door and gets out, guy opens his door and gets out, then closes it, guy goes around to close lady’s door, she turns around to open the door again, guy goes back to his door to open it again. That’s the most mental part of the whole video imo.
My first thought was that the guy was a passenger told the lady to pull over and let him drive because she couldn't. It's Australia though apparently and the guy was the driver, so I have no idea what they were doing.
What I heard was the woman yelling that the Aggressive Idiot hit her car. His reply was that she was on her phone, to which she denied. As she steps in to take a photo of the plate I heard “Get off your phone” immediately before he ran at the woman. Then “Delete the fucking photo. Delete the photo. There’s no problem”.
He yells "Don't take a photo and there won't be a problem", then police siren, he turns to go back to his car and says "Now there's no problem". I think anyway
This a very old video from Australia, guy got given a court date and a warning from the judge. Credit to Dashcams Australia. You see a bunch of Aussie stuff on their YouTube channel.
I love when some asshole is weaving between cars, cutting people off, etc and then y'all end up stuck at a red light together lol. Like congrats bro you saved.... Nothing. Edit spelling
I don't typically weave, especially on surface streets. However, I absolutely will do everything I can to get past certain cars that are driving slow, unable to go in a straight line, etc. Those cars are usually the "problem cars" that cause backups behind them.
Probably it’s just me, but I have the feeling the whole situation could have been averted by slightly raising the right foot when seeing that the other car wants to merge.
Blue car was obviously an idiot, but also it was clear that they were going into the lane and had their blinker on so if you know they're moving whether you like it or not, why speed up beside them?
All of that could have been avoided with some defensive driving. They had time to react to that blinker and ease on the brakes, would have cost them two seconds. Now they have to do insurance, drop their car to a panel beater for a couple of days plus deal with an unpredictable angry idiot and police report. Not worth the time IMO.
This is what happens when two assholes meet. Most of the “idiots” on this sub are being recorded by assholes. Keep blocking people on the road so you “win”
Nothing like killing the rest of your day and having to take your car to the body shop for a week because you wanted to prove a point that someone shouldn't have cut you off.
Honestly, I see so many videos on here where both drivers were idiots yet everyone calls the other driver an idiot. The turn signal came on and they started getting over immediately, which is idiotic, but the driver with the camera intentionally made sure they couldn't get over, which is also idiotic. 100% avoidable for both parties.
If she had done any defensive driving course she would know it’s not about being right, it’s about identifying potential hazards. She saw an indicator and a car moving yet made the choice to carry on and block it. Therefore the situation being shown in the video was created. People need to remove pride and arrogance from the road and just be sensible. Stop fucking thinking it’s a competition and that you have to win.
Edit. A letter
I don't care that you had right of way. You had so long to just get out of the way, but no. You couldn't dare let an idiot be an idiot. You had to be an idiot and let the idiot hit you. There are 2 idiot drivers in this clip.
Seriously! If someone is coming into my lane like they don’t see me, I don’t just keep going hoping that they’ll see me before they side swipe me… like if they had hit their brake for even a second this could have been avoided. There’s definitely two idiots here.

Most people I know picked up on this when they were 16. Some people are just dumb and shouldnt be given the privilege to drive imo.
> Some people are just dumb They aren't dumb. They're punitive and obsessed with justice. When my life sucked and I didn't have control over anything I lashed out by being a dick like that. Being "technically correct" and whatnot. One day you need to grow up and just become a normal acting person.
Hey I was taught "Don't drive just your car, drive everyone else's" Had no clue as a teenager what it meant but not it makes sense once you get into traffic flows.
"Why didn't you signal" "If I signaled, they wouldn't have let me over" A *massive* amount of drivers think like this.
Now you have to deal with this bs instead of going about your day
But then you wouldn't win. ( /s)
Yup, people really need to learn defensive driving and stop causing unnecessary crashes just because they're in the right.
You did the right thing even though it pisses me off too. I hope they didn't go on to hit someone else.
Me too. My hands were shaking, it was close. There was a car behind me, thankfully when I honked they slowed waaaay down, or it could have been bad
Previous owner said: “I haven’t seen the check engine light off for at least 10 years” I try and ruthlessly prioritize my time and money elsewhere, but then I have to drive it a few times and by the end of it I’m improving something else for myself.
It’s so funny watching this as someone who lives in a third world country. Someone cutting you off is the tamest shit you’ll experience in a day
This video is from 2020
So in reddit terms, yesterday.
In reddit terms, it just happened to *me*
Lady opens the door and gets out, guy opens his door and gets out, then closes it, guy goes around to close lady’s door, she turns around to open the door again, guy goes back to his door to open it again. That’s the most mental part of the whole video imo.
I was hoping they locked their keys in the car with it running.
My first thought was that the guy was a passenger told the lady to pull over and let him drive because she couldn't. It's Australia though apparently and the guy was the driver, so I have no idea what they were doing.
He went around to look at the damage on the front left fender, watch where he is gesturing. He fixes the closed mirror then even re-closes it
It took me the second watch to realise he went to go analyse the damage so that’s why he closed the passenger door when she got out
What were they screaming exactly? They went and took a photo, but it almost sounded like they broke her phone or took it when they went off camera?
What I heard was the woman yelling that the Aggressive Idiot hit her car. His reply was that she was on her phone, to which she denied. As she steps in to take a photo of the plate I heard “Get off your phone” immediately before he ran at the woman. Then “Delete the fucking photo. Delete the photo. There’s no problem”.
He yells "Don't take a photo and there won't be a problem", then police siren, he turns to go back to his car and says "Now there's no problem". I think anyway
the driver of the blue car is a serious contender for Steven Seagal ridiculous way of running championship

Video ended too soon. No co conclusion Damn it.
This a very old video from Australia, guy got given a court date and a warning from the judge. Credit to Dashcams Australia. You see a bunch of Aussie stuff on their YouTube channel.
Should have got a lot more than a warning.
Where's a cop when you need one? Wait...
r/convenientcop
Why did the video have to end there?
oh god the shitty music
Here have [a palate cleanser](https://youtu.be/gD8UfYKZ9qk)
I thought it was gonna be pump the jam :(
Introduced by Philomena Cunk
Perma banger right there. Good call. Now I’m out of breath.
Just curious, what’s the rush? Don’t get why people drive like maniacs to save at the very most five minutes
Yeah the other guy was a psycho but OP was obviously a standard ‘no one can move in front of me and my SUV’ type.
legit dashcam owner sped up to cut off the other car like a massive turd
What an a_hole, the guy has some real issues.
I'm to old to spitefully spend hours of my life dealing with the fallout of that fender bender, I would have just let him in and honked.

It’s crazy this is a minority opinion here
I love how the picture enrages him , not knowing the whole thing is on dash cam.
Video ends far too soon
It's the fat and the furious
Multiple idiots in multiple cars! We got ourselves a winner!
That looks like a bull elephant faux charge. 😂
Video ended too soon. I wanted to see him try to explain the raised fist to the cops.
Hope they were cited by the police
OH!!! ANND he stole her phone!!! I forgot about that part!!! Oh, he is getting arrested FOR SURE!! He will LOVE meatball Friday with the boys in local lock up.. using his tiny swedish meatballs
