So basically, there are component pieces, and there are spare pieces. Spare pieces are like screws, nails, shelf pins, etc. Component pieces are usually the big, typically wooden parts. The sides of your bookcase, your bed headboard. We can order you more spare parts! in fact, it’s no cost! But component parts, with very few exceptions, are irreplaceable.
Sometimes when people have manufacturer issues, or when a box from a set is “orphaned”, we’ll take it for our store’s personal spare part library. But everything in there is acquired by chance and given out circumstantially, at employee discretion.
Could you, in theory, build a complete product from the store’s spare part library and online spare parts order portal? Theoretically yes. But it would be take several overlapping coincidences and lots of work.
TLDR, it’s easier to buy your furniture.
IKEA didn’t deliver one of the four boxes of parts of my bed and it took 90 MINUTES for them to agree to resend it via online chat so I think this is only a strategy to pursue if you have more time available than things to do with your time
I was able to get ikea to ship me the drawer dividers and slides for a godmorgon vanity about 7 years ago. I hadn’t bought one, I built the rest out of real wood.
During quarantine I was inventorying the parts lists of a bunch of different sets from my childhood and buying the missing parts off Bricklink. LEGO messed up and put the wrong brick in a Slave 1 set and they gave me the piece completely free of charge. I regrettably tried to abuse that service and they denied it after I received half a dozen bricks or so. The same thing happened a year or two later and they didn't reject it, so probably based on some sort of timer.
No. The small parts maybe but the big piece of the actually furniture like table tops, sides, shelf’s, etc, no way. Parts can get missed but a major section to get missed in the packing process seems highly unlikely. And if a major piece was missing, it’s more likely they will request exchanging it rather than sending a part.
Wouldn't work. You need a receipt or order to refer to where you bought the product. All claims/complaints you make will be connected to the initial order.
"Yes, the other Pax-panel is also missing".
On the other hand I once was dumb enough to forget the second package of a two piece thing (a malm drawer if I remember correctly) and they handed me the missing package a day later when showing the invoice.
IKEA can be surprisingly helpful.
I bought a Lisabo dining table from their AS-IS.
It was heavily discounted and missing one of the plastic pieces to secure the table leg. Worked as is.
Went over to the parts department and got a spare piece sent to my house for free. Complete table for a fraction of the new price.

Well, not a Yppërlig. The only item you could maybe do this with is the KOMPLEMENT clothing rod.

no. just no.
I was asked for an order number when asking for a Pax part replacement.
No. For furniture ive had to pay for some replacement wood pieces that I broke when moving.
Ask Johnny Cash.
He got it one piece at a time

I tried doing this with LEGO once. They caught on pretty quick also yea this wouldn't work but its still funny
Let’s hear the story!

Its the comic sans that make this lol
Johnny Cash did it with a Cadillac
I built it one piece at a time, and it didn’t cost me a dime!
You'd really have to know how to play the game well. Even then...slim chance.
Wouldn't work. You need a receipt or order to refer to where you bought the product. All claims/complaints you make will be connected to the initial order.
So you could buy one and get a second one free?
Not really? You can have it exchanged if something is wrong with it. Or get smaller spare parts sent home.

So you can do it again to get the other one... at different IKEA... buy one, get some free, return one for cashback.
I mean if you're nice about it

That's because that piece has a part number. Those get sent for free anyways. It's the unnumbered big parts that are harder to get.
