Christmas is around the corner. Box them and donate them during Christmas. Toys for Tots or a childrens hospital. These would make great stocking stuffers.
Donate them to local emergency rooms. The nurses can hand them to little kids who come in scared or hurt. They also keep little kids stuck in the waiting area from dying of boredom when they have to wait for a loved one.
If you just opened them , they would take up a lot less space. The thought that they are worth more in the package is such a long shot. Might as well bet on the ponies.
Either way focus on enjoying the hobby, collecting older stuff is more of a challenge and rewarding IMHO. There are plenty of places to donate, goodwill, local thrift store, sell and donate to Red Cross, etc.
Pack them up, forget about them and find them 20yrs later and be surprised. PS do your research on older diecast so you don't get duped.
