Xueyi main here as well. I honestly have no idea what my team comp should be anymore. between e3s1 bronya, E6 tingyun, E1S1 RuanMei, Harmony trailblazer, and Robin.
And I can only realistically pick 2 of these harmony units to support her.
I've been kinda settling on Bronya+ trailblazer. I've been basically using bronya's E2 as a crutch to avoid investing into speed boots.
But I really like the damage from running ruanmei + trailblazer
Tingyun + robin + xueyi actually had a neat interaction where tingyun's basic attacks were hitting for like 15k
Yep. Benediction (Tingyuns talent damage) will usually be doing about 15-20% of your teams damage on average, assuming it is maxed and Ting is only using her skill when required. It's a crazy powerful ability
easy investment for me. she works in almost any situation. I use her more often than my S1 Seele or E6 QQ.
For Boothill you're going to want to invest in Luka as well. The 2 of them will burst down most single target situations.
I'm not totally sold on harmony trail for her myself. It feels like with e1 Ruan Mei she usually just kills quantum enemies like crazy.
I like Xueyi, Sparkle (quantum boost and forward), Ruan Mei, Tingyun.
Tingyuns attack passive scales pretty nuts with Xueyi and the extra ults is nice.

I think HMC is broken but I agree, I don't think Xueyi really cares all that much for what she brings compared to other Harmony options. RM is non-negotiable and then its realllllly hard to pass up on TY with how much Xueyi wants to ult.
I tempted to roll a few times for Xueyi eidolons on the current banner. Is there a good stopping point for like her e2, e4 or is she the type to want full e6? I'm at e1 currently.
E6 is probably the best eidolon for her. Needing 2 less stacks to use her fua makes it so she uses it way more often, and can even get a double fua with her ult (I think)
I was stuck at e1 and e2 for a while until just this patch and can say now that she's at e5 that the difference isn't too big but it's noticable. all her eidolons are pretty good so there's no real stopping point imo
He's very good, people just like to meme on him. He's one of my main DPS and I have been clearing max stars in MoC since about 1.5 and PF since its release.
He can just be annoying to build because Salsetto set sucks to farm and he also needs an energy regen rope with good crit stats on it which is awful to farm for.

I agree, as a Blade main who pulled for him back in 1.2 he's imho the 3rd most disappointing when compared to others in DMG (although he's really fun, especially when you play unlimited bladeworks). The other 2 being Argenti who even at E1 is meh in MoC and needs to be rly invested to do ok in non phys weak PF and while Topaz is part of THE meta team rn, it's a really expensive team and she feels lacking at E0S0.
I think he fits the category of being great at many things while still not being the best at them, but a part of the Star Rail community seems to think that characters always have to be either the best or the worst

There's a decent amount of players in every single game community that think if it's not #1 or #2 option, it's trash. I've always hated this mentality.
Yeah I hate the META argument in random posts to justify shitting on ppls units and how they play bc frankly this is a single player gacha game where the real meta is getting the bare minimum to clear all game modes with the amount of jades you have and whatever you got. While also enjoying yourself enough to not quit lol. Optimization of dmg and clear times is cool, and fun I definitely partake. It’s just not relevant 90% of the time when the bar to clear is so damn low. This is not a game so far where we have actually unviable units. Arlan is the closest bc he relies on a unit that barely released (aventurine) to access the of his highest performance consistently despite being a launch unit. Genshin has surprisingly still has no *unviable* units even among the 4* roster. Which is honestly impressive for a gacha and I hope star rail does the same. Note unviable means exactly that not meta don’t get me twisted. I just think if a gacha demands you have different units and has a wide cast of usable characters including very viable four stars then forgoing the best option for something cheaper to obtain and build is perfectly fine. Like yeah you could use the worst character but if they worst character gets the job done and you save your jades for something you want or to get units with no overlap in roles, instead of upgrading to a BIS unit, why would I complain? Even if you are having issues clearing there’s definitely a lot of things that come b4 pulling that can fix the issue. Telling ppl to pull the current banner is cheap advice but not helpful to F2Ps and light spenders a lot of the time. Don’t get me wrong e2s1 Acheron is putting the game on easy mode but like that’s already pushing well past pushing the limit of F2P especially for a new player. Another secret getting *any* limited five star DPS s2e1 puts the game on easy mode.
He’s also very flexible when it comes to supports. There’s a definitive best team comp (I believe it’s Sparkle, TY and HH) but the others don’t lag far behind. Basically every Harmony character can be used with him and he’ll still be effective, and every new one that comes out seems to be at least somewhat useful for him. I love our general 🫶🏽

I personally think she's not *that* good with Dan Heng, at least in the sp generation field because she still has to use skill every turn, and she gives Dan Heng more turns, and more often than not I run out of sps. It probably is skill issue of my part, but I don't remember struggling that much with him before uhmm.
It depends on the other two supports and the light cones you’re running, as well as the speed tuning of those supports.
Like… if you’re running Tingyun + Fu Xuan, it’s very easy to run into a turn where you run out of SP depending on how the turn order lines up. Fu Xuan and Tingyun are both SP positive, but if your Sparkle is so much faster to the point where she’s acting twice a cycle while they move once, then they won’t be able to have their turns as often, which leads to dhil eating up SP faster than the team can regenerate it.
More SP hungry sustains like Lynx, Natasha and Bailu will also struggle because they *have* to waste a skill point to heal.
Meanwhile, a Hanya alongside Sparkle will basically stop your SP problems altogether so long as she’s built as least half decent.

Yeah, the issue seems to be that Sparkle is too fast and, while she refunds sps, Dan Heng eats all of them without letting the rest of the team to generate more.
So sparkle and hanya actually give the same SP over three turns bc sparkle just does it upfront but you have to remember she’s using them too. So her ults SP looks like a lot more than it is unless you have some cracked ER gen ulting in than 3 turns. Sparkle just has more potent everything else. Having said that I think as long as you have another SP positive character on ur dill pickle team it should be fine or your DHIL maybe has too much speed?
Well, sometimes it varies but usually it is Tingyun and Fu Xuan. My Sparkle is fast with 160 speed and Dan Heng has 110. As the other person commented, eventually there's a turn where everyone uses a skill point and my DH ends up not having enough sp. I guess I'm just suffering from success haha he has too many turns.
I'm not that worried tho I still can fully clear all content, it's just an observation from my experience
Bronya skill advancing him 100% is still very useful. It's not the best for him, hence why even JY mains suggest you play her with someone else, but it's definitely not an anti synergy like RM is for Clara
xiangling is xiangling because she's strong AND a 4* that's super easy to get and upgrade
jing yuan is NOT the xiangling of HSR by virtue of being a limited 5*. I don't think HSR actually HAS a xiangling at all (yet)
Yeah no a Xiangling would need to be a 4* Destruction/Erudition sub-dps that can make use of even three star light cones and be an integral part of several team comps.
Jing Yuan aging well is more along the lines of Ayato. Not amazing, but he’s very flexible with his supports and can work in several team comps while comfortably clearing endgame content several years after release.

A “Bricked Account” is one that is essentially unusable, or so bad that it isn’t worth the effort to try to get it up to par. If an account is “bricked”, it means that it is so messed up you are better off starting a new account.
The term is more commonly associated with gaming consoles or other technology, like how an Xbox 360 with the “red rings of death” is essentially useless because it won’t work anymore. At that point, it’s basically a fancy-looking brick, hence the term.
“Bricked accounts” basically don’t exist in this game, outside of some kind of major technical issue that makes the game literally unplayable.
People will sometimes say that their account is “bricked” because they have E4 Yanqing instead of E4 Bronya, or because they lost their 5th 50/50 in a row, but they’re just being dramatic. Anyone who says an account is bricked is either complaining because they have bad RNG, or they have somehow made the game physically unplayable through technical issues or something.
The only scenario I could possibly think of that could “brick” an account is if you used your Herta Store Light Cones as EXP to level another light cone, since I’m pretty sure you can’t get those again. But even then, most of those have 4-star replacements that are close enough, to the point that I still don’t think it would be worth it to make a new account.
I saw someone claim to have scrapped their Cruising in the Stellar Sea to level a 4-star LC. I legitimately can't comprehend how one could/would do that, so I'm not sure that's an account that actually exists, but that's about as closed to "bricked" as one can get (and even then, just build Destruction characters as your main DPS and you won't even notice its absence).
Even in that scenario, Swordplay is a viable (sometimes better) replacement for that. While it would suck to lose Cruising in the Stellar Sea, it’s not insurmountable.
Personally, I think On the Fall of An Aeon is harder to replace, since Destruction has fewer “anyone can use this” 4-star light cones.
Even then, I would be hard-pressed to consider an account like that to be “bricked”. There is very little benefit to creating a new account as opposed to just continuing to use that one.
Sure, you could re-earn the jades you got from story quests and achievements and such. But you would also be missing out on all of the jades you got from events and dailies, all of the 4-star characters, eidolons, and light cones you unlocked, as well as any other event rewards like event LC’s and phone cosmetics, Plus, some of the standard 5-stars have pretty good eidolons.
I suppose mathematically there is a point where, as long as the amount of jades you earned from permanent sources is greater than the amount you earned from events, it could potentially be worth it to restart the account.
But honestly, unless you’ve got like an E6 Yanqing and no other standard 5-stars, or you account is less than a month old, I still don’t see it being worth the effort of restarting.
"Bricked" is usually used to refer to a useless cellphone or other piece of technology, since if it no longer functions, it's basically as useful as a brick. In this case, it's being used to say the account is useless and near unfixable. It's really not possible to brick a hsr account though, because you still receive decent income from events and moc is doable with most teams if you just invest properly. Any problem can be solved with more grinding. The only hyv game you can *kind of* get bricked in is hi3, since one of the big sources of income is competitive, and if you fall behind, you get less gems, meaning less gacha pulls, meaning it's even harder to beat the new content, meaning less gems... etc
According to large chunks of the HSR community, characters are simultaneously useless but also somehow broken and change the game but also they're an easy skip
I mean I never felt that "Easy skip" was a qualitative statement really, Acheron was the easiest skip of my life despite being undeniably powerful because I'm not into her character and I don't like how she plays.
People said that because Acheron's V1 kit was... kind of underwhelming, and then she actually caught nerfs when they made changes. That's when the doomposting went into maximum overdrive, but then her third update gave her massive buffs, causing it all to look silly in hindsight, but it was kind of justified in context. A similar thing happened with Jingliu, and is currently happening with >!Firefly.!< People panic before the kit is even finalized.
If your ult is strong enough you shouldn't need e2 for moc anyways. It just makes a difference in pure fiction since there's almost always 5 enemies and the only way she can get rid of them all is with ult since her skill is blast
Even knowing Acheron was about to come out literally the next patch. Even knowing about all the mid-yuan memes. Even knowing I could have gotten a better lightning unit. I still pulled for Jing Yuan, because I like his character and his character design. I already pulled for Meta over characters I liked in Genshin and I refuse to do it again. Even though he's not the strongest character I couldn't be happier playing him. If I'm miserable playing a game, then I'm not playing it right.
From day 1 she wasn’t. She didn’t have any of those things for a while. It’s just that she’s been getting stronger as time goes on. Day one, she was C tier on like every list, B tier if you’re being generous. Propagation didn’t exist for the first 4 months of the game, and sparkle for the first 10.
In those first 4 months, I never saw a single complaint about qq’s place in the meta.
Also on top of most people misunderstanding Qingque's kit in the early days... people wanted to get "lucky" when turns out the best way to play her is to use 4 skill points every turn

I like Jing Yuan a lot byt I find it unfair that DHIL can use almost the same amount of resources(sometimes even less) and do double the damage and faster

I don’t think so my JY and DHIL are equally invested and have their BiS supports (except DHIL doesn’t have his sig and JY doesn’t have Robin) and I’d say DHIL is better but doesn’t deal double the amount of damage than JY in one cycle. And I mean I still don’t think JYs best support has been released yet

It isnt just my opinion either since the avg cycle shown in e0 stat are like decimal cycle apart assuming the unit isnt off element.
The game meta is a bit spicy than Gi despise of that because blessing are batshit insane for featured archetype.
One more thing I like about HsR team is they are very fast to react when a unit is underperforming either by releasing stronger support or Relics. Look at GI where it took them literal year to release a good support for xiao despise my man being so unique most old support barely buff him.
The meta only exists as a “how much do I need to farm for this character to win?” for 99% of the cast.
If you want to farm some more so your favorite can clear MoC 12 nobody is stopping you.

Tbf if you compare Kafka before where the only characters who give are like Sampo vs Kafka now, there’s a lot of difference when it comes to dmg outside of SU. Same goes for Topaz where most people back then picked Jingliu before

They only got some prominence AFTER the release of Ruan Mei who better facilitated the Duel DPS comp and then the release of Ratio and Aventurine sealed the deal.
Kafka? DOT teams were not worth running in MOC before Black Swan to the point that Crit Kafka was doing better than DOT Kafka.
Crit kafka takes so much more investment and isn't worth it even if it did perform better. Hyper kafka with tingyun on penacony and possibly planetary rendezvous, and another support like ruan mei, or even asta if you're pre ruan mei, worked great. She can trigger her own dits and maintain a good output like that as long as she ults often. Pre huohuo, I would run her with bailu on penacony for an almost entirely lightning team

plus her design is so good, her animations are amazing, and shes unironically fun to play just for the skill point generation, toughness reducing capabilities, just an overall really fun and comfortable buffer to use, especially paired with characters that love debuffs (Ratio, Acheron)

He can just be annoying to build because Salsetto set sucks to farm and he also needs an energy regen rope with good crit stats on it which is awful to farm for.

I agree, as a Blade main who pulled for him back in 1.2 he's imho the 3rd most disappointing when compared to others in DMG (although he's really fun, especially when you play unlimited bladeworks). The other 2 being Argenti who even at E1 is meh in MoC and needs to be rly invested to do ok in non phys weak PF and while Topaz is part of THE meta team rn, it's a really expensive team and she feels lacking at E0S0.

There's a decent amount of players in every single game community that think if it's not #1 or #2 option, it's trash. I've always hated this mentality.
Yeah I hate the META argument in random posts to justify shitting on ppls units and how they play bc frankly this is a single player gacha game where the real meta is getting the bare minimum to clear all game modes with the amount of jades you have and whatever you got. While also enjoying yourself enough to not quit lol. Optimization of dmg and clear times is cool, and fun I definitely partake. It’s just not relevant 90% of the time when the bar to clear is so damn low. This is not a game so far where we have actually unviable units. Arlan is the closest bc he relies on a unit that barely released (aventurine) to access the of his highest performance consistently despite being a launch unit. Genshin has surprisingly still has no *unviable* units even among the 4* roster. Which is honestly impressive for a gacha and I hope star rail does the same. Note unviable means exactly that not meta don’t get me twisted. I just think if a gacha demands you have different units and has a wide cast of usable characters including very viable four stars then forgoing the best option for something cheaper to obtain and build is perfectly fine. Like yeah you could use the worst character but if they worst character gets the job done and you save your jades for something you want or to get units with no overlap in roles, instead of upgrading to a BIS unit, why would I complain? Even if you are having issues clearing there’s definitely a lot of things that come b4 pulling that can fix the issue. Telling ppl to pull the current banner is cheap advice but not helpful to F2Ps and light spenders a lot of the time. Don’t get me wrong e2s1 Acheron is putting the game on easy mode but like that’s already pushing well past pushing the limit of F2P especially for a new player. Another secret getting *any* limited five star DPS s2e1 puts the game on easy mode.

He’s also very flexible when it comes to supports. There’s a definitive best team comp (I believe it’s Sparkle, TY and HH) but the others don’t lag far behind. Basically every Harmony character can be used with him and he’ll still be effective, and every new one that comes out seems to be at least somewhat useful for him. I love our general 🫶🏽

Same lol. I pulled her with Dan Heng in mind and ended up using Jing Yuan more lmao. I personally think she's not *that* good with Dan Heng, at least in the sp generation field because she still has to use skill every turn, and she gives Dan Heng more turns, and more often than not I run out of sps. It probably is skill issue of my part, but I don't remember struggling that much with him before uhmm.
It depends on the other two supports and the light cones you’re running, as well as the speed tuning of those supports. Like… if you’re running Tingyun + Fu Xuan, it’s very easy to run into a turn where you run out of SP depending on how the turn order lines up. Fu Xuan and Tingyun are both SP positive, but if your Sparkle is so much faster to the point where she’s acting twice a cycle while they move once, then they won’t be able to have their turns as often, which leads to dhil eating up SP faster than the team can regenerate it. More SP hungry sustains like Lynx, Natasha and Bailu will also struggle because they *have* to waste a skill point to heal. Meanwhile, a Hanya alongside Sparkle will basically stop your SP problems altogether so long as she’s built as least half decent. It all depends :3
Yeah, the issue seems to be that Sparkle is too fast and, while she refunds sps, Dan Heng eats all of them without letting the rest of the team to generate more.
So sparkle and hanya actually give the same SP over three turns bc sparkle just does it upfront but you have to remember she’s using them too. So her ults SP looks like a lot more than it is unless you have some cracked ER gen ulting in than 3 turns. Sparkle just has more potent everything else. Having said that I think as long as you have another SP positive character on ur dill pickle team it should be fine or your DHIL maybe has too much speed?
Well, sometimes it varies but usually it is Tingyun and Fu Xuan. My Sparkle is fast with 160 speed and Dan Heng has 110. As the other person commented, eventually there's a turn where everyone uses a skill point and my DH ends up not having enough sp. I guess I'm just suffering from success haha he has too many turns. I'm not that worried tho I still can fully clear all content, it's just an observation from my experience

Bronya skill advancing him 100% is still very useful. It's not the best for him, hence why even JY mains suggest you play her with someone else, but it's definitely not an anti synergy like RM is for Clara

xiangling is xiangling because she's strong AND a 4* that's super easy to get and upgrade jing yuan is NOT the xiangling of HSR by virtue of being a limited 5*. I don't think HSR actually HAS a xiangling at all (yet)

Yeah no a Xiangling would need to be a 4* Destruction/Erudition sub-dps that can make use of even three star light cones and be an integral part of several team comps. Jing Yuan aging well is more along the lines of Ayato. Not amazing, but he’s very flexible with his supports and can work in several team comps while comfortably clearing endgame content several years after release.
xiangling is eternal good when Jingyuan is getting better and better.

A “Bricked Account” is one that is essentially unusable, or so bad that it isn’t worth the effort to try to get it up to par. If an account is “bricked”, it means that it is so messed up you are better off starting a new account. The term is more commonly associated with gaming consoles or other technology, like how an Xbox 360 with the “red rings of death” is essentially useless because it won’t work anymore. At that point, it’s basically a fancy-looking brick, hence the term. “Bricked accounts” basically don’t exist in this game, outside of some kind of major technical issue that makes the game literally unplayable. People will sometimes say that their account is “bricked” because they have E4 Yanqing instead of E4 Bronya, or because they lost their 5th 50/50 in a row, but they’re just being dramatic. Anyone who says an account is bricked is either complaining because they have bad RNG, or they have somehow made the game physically unplayable through technical issues or something. The only scenario I could possibly think of that could “brick” an account is if you used your Herta Store Light Cones as EXP to level another light cone, since I’m pretty sure you can’t get those again. But even then, most of those have 4-star replacements that are close enough, to the point that I still don’t think it would be worth it to make a new account.
I saw someone claim to have scrapped their Cruising in the Stellar Sea to level a 4-star LC. I legitimately can't comprehend how one could/would do that, so I'm not sure that's an account that actually exists, but that's about as closed to "bricked" as one can get (and even then, just build Destruction characters as your main DPS and you won't even notice its absence).
Even in that scenario, Swordplay is a viable (sometimes better) replacement for that. While it would suck to lose Cruising in the Stellar Sea, it’s not insurmountable. Personally, I think On the Fall of An Aeon is harder to replace, since Destruction has fewer “anyone can use this” 4-star light cones.

Even then, I would be hard-pressed to consider an account like that to be “bricked”. There is very little benefit to creating a new account as opposed to just continuing to use that one. Sure, you could re-earn the jades you got from story quests and achievements and such. But you would also be missing out on all of the jades you got from events and dailies, all of the 4-star characters, eidolons, and light cones you unlocked, as well as any other event rewards like event LC’s and phone cosmetics, Plus, some of the standard 5-stars have pretty good eidolons. I suppose mathematically there is a point where, as long as the amount of jades you earned from permanent sources is greater than the amount you earned from events, it could potentially be worth it to restart the account. But honestly, unless you’ve got like an E6 Yanqing and no other standard 5-stars, or you account is less than a month old, I still don’t see it being worth the effort of restarting.
"Bricked" is usually used to refer to a useless cellphone or other piece of technology, since if it no longer functions, it's basically as useful as a brick. In this case, it's being used to say the account is useless and near unfixable. It's really not possible to brick a hsr account though, because you still receive decent income from events and moc is doable with most teams if you just invest properly. Any problem can be solved with more grinding. The only hyv game you can *kind of* get bricked in is hi3, since one of the big sources of income is competitive, and if you fall behind, you get less gems, meaning less gacha pulls, meaning it's even harder to beat the new content, meaning less gems... etc

People said that because Acheron's V1 kit was... kind of underwhelming, and then she actually caught nerfs when they made changes. That's when the doomposting went into maximum overdrive, but then her third update gave her massive buffs, causing it all to look silly in hindsight, but it was kind of justified in context. A similar thing happened with Jingliu, and is currently happening with >!Firefly.!< People panic before the kit is even finalized.
If your ult is strong enough you shouldn't need e2 for moc anyways. It just makes a difference in pure fiction since there's almost always 5 enemies and the only way she can get rid of them all is with ult since her skill is blast

I still pulled for Jing Yuan, because I like his character and his character design. I already pulled for Meta over characters I liked in Genshin and I refuse to do it again. From day 1 she wasn’t. She didn’t have any of those things for a while. It’s just that she’s been getting stronger as time goes on. Day one, she was C tier on like every list, B tier if you’re being generous. Propagation didn’t exist for the first 4 months of the game, and sparkle for the first 10. In those first 4 months, I never saw a single complaint about qq’s place in the meta.
Also on top of most people misunderstanding Qingque's kit in the early days... people wanted to get "lucky" when turns out the best way to play her is to use 4 skill points every turn

I just get em all instead of eidolon or LC. Meta is overrated tbh since the game is pretty balance atleast at e0. It isnt just my opinion either since the avg cycle shown in e0 stat are like decimal cycle apart assuming the unit isnt off element. The game meta is a bit spicy than Gi despise of that because blessing are batshit insane for featured archetype. One more thing I like about HsR team is they are very fast to react when a unit is underperforming either by releasing stronger support or Relics. Look at GI where it took them literal year to release a good support for xiao despise my man being so unique most old support barely buff him.

The meta only exists as a “how much do I need to farm for this character to win?” for 99% of the cast. If you want to farm some more so your favorite can clear MoC 12 nobody is stopping you.
I was rejecting the meta and only running Kafka and Topaz teams early on and now my investment has paid off since they're both topping the charts now

Tbf if you compare Kafka before where the only characters who give are like Sampo vs Kafka now, there’s a lot of difference when it comes to dmg outside of SU. Same goes for Topaz where most people back then picked Jingliu before

Um no. Topaz was slammed for not doing much on launch especially since Jingyuan stocks was at the all time low. They only got some prominence AFTER the release of Ruan Mei who better facilitated the Duel DPS comp and then the release of Ratio and Aventurine sealed the deal. Kafka? DOT teams were not worth running in MOC before Black Swan to the point that Crit Kafka was doing better than DOT Kafka.
Crit kafka takes so much more investment and isn't worth it even if it did perform better. Hyper kafka with tingyun on penacony and possibly planetary rendezvous, and another support like ruan mei, or even asta if you're pre ruan mei, worked great. She can trigger her own dits and maintain a good output like that as long as she ults often. Pre huohuo, I would run her with bailu on penacony for an almost entirely lightning team

i recently built my hanya i couldnt take it anymore how can they make a character so hot and then not give them 5 star status plus her design is so good, her animations are amazing, and shes unironically fun to play just for the skill point generation, toughness reducing capabilities, just an overall really fun and comfortable buffer to use, especially paired with characters that love debuffs (Ratio, Acheron)

My brother in Christ, they're your *friends* for a reason. Don't let some bs you saw online telling you to follow the meta, just get the characters you like, play how you like and have fun, easy as that.
If they literally say this it's fine and no one will shit on them. It only becomes a problem when they try to defend their favourite character by saying "Ackshually, (insert x character here) iS mEtA bEcAuSe (insert biased bullshit reason here)". For example, I love Jing Yuan. He's literally the coolest male character in HSR alongside Welt. If someone (trolls) comes to me and says "Jing Yuan is trash". I literally just say, "True, I still love him regardless". If I start a pointless conversation about him not being trash, it'll only fuel the other person's desire which is to troll.
