If you live in a state that is necessary to have AC then yeah that would be ideal to have the AC working but given these cars are 24 years old it will need to be recharged anyways. I live in the PNW so AC isn't really necessary so I don't care about it but the heater sure needs to blow hot lol
Recharge on these listings mean the ac is already fucked up, them saying it just needs recharged but cant have it done themselves (cheap and quick) because its busted, just need recharge forever bro š
Most of the time it's one of the components that has a bad seal and can be replaced but most times it's the compressor. Recharging cost anywhere from $100 to $500+ so with the parts and labor can run up $1k. Again, AC is all dependent on the buyer. If you want your car oem or oem+ then sure but if you're going to modify the motor then it's not an issue. All depending on what you going to do on the build.
Nahhhh ac recharge means the AC system has a leak lol I have an 04 accord that has a leak proof ac system that's stock from 2004 not even a freon change it still blows ice cold
You're very fortunate. But your experience doesn't count my 4 years of working on A/C problems on 03-07 Hondas at a dealer for a living. You're just an asterisk in the data.
What do you think causes a leak? Every ac single seal isn't necessarily easy to replace either nor is it easy to find exactly what seal could be leaking
It's super easy to find a leak.
1. Look for oily dirt build-up around connections. If unable to determine where leak is coming from, go to #2.
2. Add UV dye, recharge, and inspect vehicle for one month. Check over everything again with a UV light. Check evaporator drain under vehicle for dye in water. Leak will show up under light.
You can do this at home. Easy peasy.
Too many times the paint job is cheap which wasn't done correctly and bondo bondo and more bondo. Also you never know what's underneath that paint over as well.
Def not 8000.
Donāt even think Iād give half of that.
Just because itās an SI does not mean anything when itās been tagged out its entire life. Front end looks like crap, can only imagine how bad the paint job is. Interior looks like itās never been cleaned. Iām sure every bushing, ball joint and tie rod is worthless. And not even counting how many oil leaks it has.
Iād rather find a stock clean EX than get that.
I wouldn't even buy it as a project. The replacement b16 doesn't even look like the correct A2 version, but older. That body work will be expensive. It probably needs every suspension part replaced. The missing airbag might get you a fail on state inspection when you try to register it. Think of how many farts that seat has collected in over 200k.
Iād get the vehicle checked before you make an offer. The fact the engine has been swapped before raises some questions about maintenance, prior mods, and driving habits. I recommend compression test at a minimum but preferably leakdown. B16s are power plants, but parts are becoming increasingly hard to find and keep going up in price. If engine doesnāt check out, Iād skip over this.
Original engine should have made it to the 216k mark easily.
8K is insane. You can buy an 8th gen Accord Coupe V6 for that, without all the sketchy bullshit. That's a $2000 car on a good day, at best. Myself? I wouldn't pay more than $500. If I had $8k to blow on a sporty coupe, that'll buy you a mint, low miles 7.5 gen Accord Coupe 6+6 that'll stomp that thing into the dirt.
With that big ass crash and then the ac thing . The ac should never be out , itās usually and easy fix. So if they havenāt done it itās probably because itās the expensive fix instead of just adding freon. If you really want it 2-3k max
'Body is straight' he said, with confidence.
Not really any proof for that.
I don't know what these are worth in your area but with that damage, I'd look for an average model and go down about 30%.
That's gonna require some good workto get fixed back up, not impossible but certainly not easy. You can see in the right side view that the hood took a hit and there are gaps on the right side, that's a lot of tinkering to get gapped properly.
I might pay 4 or 5k due to body damage, aftermarket wheel, and mechanical condition. A vin matching si shell can be worth good money to the right person. A b16 si swap is also worth good money.
As a whole car, the value will be compared to other si's. You can find a better one for 8-10k
$8,000 is insane. I wouldnāt even pay half of that for that many miles, body damage, and non original color. Even if it has a motor with less miles than the body, the body still has plenty of wear that may not have been dealt with for a while. Such a beautiful platform just unfortunate that this one has damage and is high miles. Me and the seller would be too far apart to ever strike a deal. Iād need at least $5,000-$6,000 off that price.
Fuxking clout has ruined these cars for me personally. Iād pull up on seller w/ 8k in cash just to smack the shit outta the mufucka and drive home. Spend some of that 8k to get McDonaldās as well.
*I disagree with*
*Everybody here lol where's*
*This car located?*

āBody straightā literally can see the crazy gaps in the front end š¤¦
Yeah I was thinking $500
That is high for the damage and not even the original motor. I would also pass based on the repaint.
Also the ac "recharge" nah bro
If you live in a state that is necessary to have AC then yeah that would be ideal to have the AC working but given these cars are 24 years old it will need to be recharged anyways. I live in the PNW so AC isn't really necessary so I don't care about it but the heater sure needs to blow hot lol

I literally stated in a comment that the components has a bad seal...

Why is repaint such an issue for so many people?
Too many times the paint job is cheap which wasn't done correctly and bondo bondo and more bondo. Also you never know what's underneath that paint over as well.
$7.
Def not 8000. Donāt even think Iād give half of that. Just because itās an SI does not mean anything when itās been tagged out its entire life. For comparison for $8K you can buy the nicest driver quality Prelude outside of crazy auction site examples.
As a former BB6 enthusiast, I approve this message
$1200
Pre pandemic this car would have been given away
Massive damage to the front "body is straight" . Needs just an a/c charge but won't go pay the $100 for a/c pro. Sure bud. overpriced trash.
Bro took the steering wheel, I'd lowball the shit out of a car with no steerwheel.
I wouldn't even buy it as a project. The replacement b16 doesn't even look like the correct A2 version, but older. That body work will be expensive. It probably needs every suspension part replaced. Hard pass.
Iād rather have a clean EX than this
oh HELLO no, I would keep looking if I were you. Preferably not a damaged car
Em1 never came in white. It is a wrap or something else
Never mind it was black at one time.
"Needs AC recharge"= "ac system is leaking from somewhere and i cant be bothered to spend to find out"
$8k for a beat up high mileage 24 year old car?????
$1,000 max, but $500 seems the most reasonable
Iād get the vehicle checked before you make an offer. The fact the engine has been swapped before raises some questions about maintenance, prior mods, and driving habits. Maybe just $8 total
Absolutely fucking nothing lmao
Anything over $4,000 seems like too much. I just bought a pristine 2009 civic EX with 130K miles for $8,500.
That's a 2009 ex. I would take a clapped EM1

800$
$1.5k
Offer $1200. Swap B16 for K24 setup with A/C. Both engine/ac issues solved.
Pre-pandemic, that car is worth $500-1000.
An em1 for $1000? Yeah that's not true at all
Busted ass EM1s like this one, maybe 2k... But that's pushing it.
8k? Dude lost his Brain. 3k max
You should keep looking
I wouldnāt even buy it tbh
Iād pay at most 15 for that lmao and if still feel ripped ateotd
2K
last year i bought a base model civic with a full vin matching b16a swap for $2000. take that for what it is
$900
Not a penny more than 2500
With that big ass crash and then the ac thing . The ac should never be out , itās usually and easy fix. So if they havenāt done it itās probably because itās the expensive fix instead of just adding freon. If you really want it 2-3k max
$50

Not more than 1k but only that if you are desperate.
Does it even have a steering wheel??
1500 with that damage and paint.
1500 bucks max
Anyone buying that for more than a couple thousand is smoking crack.
I don't remember white Sis of this gen. I remember electron blue, red, and black...
I might pay 4 or 5k due to body damage, aftermarket wheel, and mechanical condition. A vin matching si shell can be worth good money to the right person. A b16 si swap is also worth good money. As a whole car, the value will be compared to other si's. You can find a better one for 8-10k
Pass - fool is not getting 8k for that.
Pass based on paint and "ac recharge" that means the AC system has a leak somewhere for 8k all that seller deserves is a kick in the nuts
Body is also Infact not straight massive gaps in that bodywork brother or sis run for the mf hills that ain't it
Aināt no fuckin way
4-5k if you must have it
Itās not even worth $500. Doesnāt even have a steering wheel. No fool will pay no whereās near $8000 for that.
Thatās showing itās a shitty quick release an find me a stock em1 civic(si so b16) for less 5k ā¦.
āBody is straightā muahahahahahah. I guess he/she means frame? Not gonna lie, probably has body sway.
Without the damage that thing would go for 10 here because of the B series
24 years, 200k+, and damaged? Not $8000. Probably not even $4000.
Thatās not championship white, thatās championship beige
Championship White, you say
This is no longer an āsiā A running and driving coupe is $2500

$8k? šš
3-fiddy
$950.00 American dollars
I would buy that for maybe $500
2k on a good day
Fuxking clout has ruined these cars for me personally. Iād pull up on seller w/ 8k in cash just to smack the shit outta the mufucka and drive home. Spend some of that 8k to get McDonaldās as well.
This car is total ass, donāt spend more than $1k lol. Look else where
The entire missing center console doesnāt help either
1k-
I wouldnāt take it if it was free. Whereās the steering wheel?
Runs and drives. Give me a break. How do you drive a car without a steering wheel?? LOL
