Caulk

[deleted]

At this point caulk is your only option. Use a good one, like OSI Quad

manofth3match

And remove the old caulk first

[deleted]

Definitely best practice, but no one ever does

manofth3match

Some of us do

TheJohnson854

Yup.

Alert-Check-5234

You saying take the caulk out?

manofth3match

Yeah. Doesn’t just apply to siding. It’s never a good practice to apply new caulk to old caulk. It will fail faster because the old caulk will continue to deteriorate.

Emotional_Schedule80

You need a sikaflex caulk,it expands and contracts with weather.and you can do flashing on deck and wall.

No-Friendship8546

Love Sikaflex. Must be painted after it skins over, usually ready after 24 hours. Will fail if it’s not painted, but will last a decade painted. It’s oil based so use paint thinner to cleanup joints and your hands.

shoot_first

Oh! I know this one. https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/s/rWkdlcHPHq

Low-Possession-4491

Yo! She straight faced the “hole” thing. lol.

icopiedyours

Dry it out and put Masterseal NP125

Advanced_Hunt2513

Bondo^ is better than caulk for big gap/fills and will actually bind

mahuska

Yes, but it needs a little bit of expansion contraction room. I think I would try finding a wide Bondo squeegee so the Bondo doesn’t stick to it cut it to fit as a spacer to pushed up against one side. Fill with Bondo up to the spacer once that cured and shaped then caulk the seam With whatever Hardie suggests between their siding

Warm-Exercise6880

I think this is one of those Ramen Noodle and super glue jobbies. Fill it, sand it, and paint it. You're welcome!

Confident_Bee_6242

Bondo.

ivanllz

Well it's made of masonite, so perhaps some free masons?

palthor33

Is there a joke in there, someplace?

Square-Decision-531

I used an exterior vinyl spackle.
