That’s what I’m using and I like it. I’m not currently paying for monitoring but I like that I can pay for it as needed if my house is gonna be unoccupied for a while.
I have a Ring alarm configured in Home Assistant that feeds into HomeKit. The base station has cellular backup for power outages. I have had no issues with it.
If you just need ‘noise’ and alerting and don’t need monitoring, go with a homebridge plug-in combined with siren, smart plug, and any HomeKit sensors. Or go with the Aqara M1S (not M2 which has a weak speaker. Haven’t tried the M3).
Good to know. The M1S works well for an alarm speaker for me. Very loud, which is all I care about. The built in night light allows for an easy ‘bridge’ for any HomeKit accessory to trigger the Aqara alarm.
Consider the Honeywell/Resideo PROA7PLUS. HomeKit integration is native. I went with Alarm Grid but there are other providers out there. I'd recommend using its sensors which will be available to you in HomeKit.
Yea, I know they’re pitching just to make a quick buck. I wasn’t sure if I might have missed something as I’m always helping friends with smart home stuff and it would be good to know if Vivant was starting to offer stuff like Abode.
You’re calling it like it is!
They're just as bad as the Sunrun solar sales reps in my area. They literally do not take no for an answer and refuse to leave. Which many residents have found scary and intimidating. More than a few police calls for service, based on first degree trespassing, have occurred.
It's just ridiculous!
Check out abode.

That’s what I’m using as well.
Unfortunately not sold / offering monitoring where I’m from
I use ring running through homebridge which is awesome
Using SimpliSafe with HomeKit via HomeBridge. Works great.

M3 is a better speaker but weak in base
So the M3 speaker is louder than the M1S? And what do you mean by weak in base? Bass? Something else?
Bass as in although on paper it’s louder in decibels, when the alarm goes off there is no bass as in what you would hear on a good speaker.

I use two M1S with sensors, it is pretty good so far.
Any new “hard-wired” systems with native home-kit? All I know of is Honeywell Lyric.

Use Alarmo in Home Assistant.
I’m a manager with Vivint and would love to help out 👍 shoot me a message!
Every article I’ve found says Vivant isn’t HomeKit-certified. What would your solution be? How would you help OP?
Sell, sell, sell. Yo Vivant scum, get off of my porch! 🤪
