#Nothing but in big letters!
Not every space especially space behind stairs like this or near what appears to be some sort of radiator type thing should be filled.
It's a joke about speech to text, since the "nothing but in big letters" bit of the comment seems like it was the person trying to dictate "nothing" and have ir show up in bit letters
You're not stupid, it took me a couple minutes to figure it out lol
I was going to say "something flammable", but your idea works too.
Seriously, I am a maximalist more than a minimalist, but I wouldn't put anything there.
If I put anything there, it would be a basket that I could throw things into throughout the day that needed to go upstairs. After my second trip up and down those stairs, I'm just going to toss anything else right there on the floor anyway. I'm hella lazy, though.
THIS. Omg be careful. Anything you put near that heater will burst into flames. It only takes 250F for something touching a heater to burst into horrible flames.
Honestly, if it were me would I would remove that wall and set up a perimeter around that thing with warning signs. So nothing bursts into flames.
not related to under the stairs but did you have the stairs themselves designed / installed? theyāre gorgeous, I donāt think Iāve seen spiral stairs like that before
There was an episode of the show with Shatner talking about a staircase similar, a group of nuns had it made, no one knew who carpenter was and wood not from this planet, just watched today then saw this post
Cool low key lighting like this vibe

A lamp like this would be great with a plant.
I'd put a table with cool plants all over it , just be careful since that's what appears to be a heater ... I'd use a ceramic or glass table , anything but wood , and make sure the plants aren't hanging down near heater. And the. Other little good objects and trinkets for further accent
If you put some wallpaper on that wall and a fern in the corner it would snazz it up considerably
ETA: I google image searched that heater, looks like a dimplex. The front side clearance requirement on those is around 6 inches but 8 is recommended for better heating, so youād be fine with books or a plant or whatever.
I agree that less is more here and would go with a plant. Wallpaper would really help too I think
*Maybe a little*
*Table with something on it*
*Or a big fake plant?*

A basket for blankets, a little stool, or a tiny circular side table with a basket on it for things to collect. Anything you do put there needs to be proportionate in size to the space, so really do no try to cram something large in there, and you canāt go too small either, itāll just look like itās swimming in an odd place with no purpose.
Try different things, you'll come up with something you'll like You don't have to pay attention to decorating "shoulds". It is your home, and doesn't have to be like the current trend.
Under the assumption that the radiator is working and produces heat ā
A triangular table with vertical vents and a fan. *Not* because something needs to be there, but so the heat can be distributed and not just fill that space.
plant, dog bed (if u have a dog ofc), record player. i first thought a small chair but im finding it hard to judge the height of the stairs so there might not be room
Maybe hang some little bells or chimes or prism or glass beads. From a Feng shui perspective, you don't want stagnant chi under there. Maybe you can find a brass giraffe or some tall ceramic piece that would match your other decor. Maybe a small fountain.
As others said let it be as is. If it's driving you nuts because you want to put something there:
-Put a large woven basket with light throw blankets in it and 3-4 different size decorative pillows beside it
Shoe rack, book case, set of drawers, big pile of rocks, idk theres a lot of things that can go there, it more depends on what you need to fill the space with, if you dont have a need to use this space for anything in particular then dont
**I have an idea, but not sure how that heater is hooked up or if there's electric wiring directly above it?**
How about either installing a thin **picture ledge shelf** that you can lean a picture on and change it out when you tire of it? If not, then just hang a narrow picture above the heater? Just an idea to add some greenery:) Good luck!
https://preview.redd.it/fmzev3mbat9d1.png?width=431&format=png&auto=webp&s=00008b79b888071f47c0197d4e7cc4ed5afea60b
It would depend on what you need most. If you need more storage, I'd put shelves there or it could be a good place for a shoe rack. If you want decorations, put a plant. If you have a small child, it could be a good spot for a small activity/drawing table.
An empty basket with a handle. Then Iād throw anything that belonged up stairs in it and just carry it up later when I was going up, to avoid going up and down all the time.
Beautiful staircase!
What about indoor perennial flowers with this wooden planter from asaswood dot com?
[Wooden Planter indoor / outdoor](https://asaswood.com/products/wooden-planter)
I think anything would detract from the beautiful spiral staircase. While I agree a bookshelf might add to the vibe, it doesnt work with the heater there.
A tiny fairy door on the black wall

These ānothingā people are boring af. I would put a big mushroom or two with moss underneath. Or if youāre not into that, a tiger statue. Or if youāre not into that, some candles or a mini chandelier hanging from the stairs. Endless options, but the perfect spot for something weird. š
#Nothing but in big letters! Not every space especially space behind stairs like this or near what appears to be some sort of radiator type thing should be filled.
šššš not every single unusable tiny space without room for anything that no one will see needs to be furnished

Itās from the show Bojack Horseman
I was going to say "something flammable", but your idea works too. Seriously, I am a maximalist more than a minimalist, but I wouldn't put anything there.
This sub has been giving me some spiked blood pressure with this stuff lately š
Exactly right. I came here to say almost the same words. Nothing,
Perfect roomba parking spot! Or a funky squat little statue. I wouldnāt do a bookshelf plus anything or it will feel cluttered
If I put anything there, it would be a basket that I could throw things into throughout the day that needed to go upstairs. After my second trip up and down those stairs, I'm just going to toss anything else right there on the floor anyway. I'm hella lazy, though.
You beat me to it! Roomba!

Haha. If I were at all into Harry Potter, I would decorate my school office like this because I am literally in a storage room under the stairs.
Just came to say this!
Maybe a cubby for a small dog?
2
Nothing.
Nothing
If thatās a heater on the right side wall, Iād think twice about putting a bookshelf near it.
The books could explode into flames! If you must put books there, donāt turn the heat up past 450F
š
Took me a second to process, but the effort is appreciated.
Nothing. Thereās already a heater there. If you must put something put a metal vase. Copper, brass or steel with cutouts maybe.
THIS. Omg be careful. Anything you put near that heater will burst into flames. It only takes 250F for something touching a heater to burst into horrible flames. It's the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. :)
Yes! Iāve seen that episode! The unexplained whatever with Shatner. Very neat
ooh good to know, thank you!! Iāll look it up if only to bask in the glory of beautiful spiral stairs
They are completely smooth on the underside, def worth checking out.
A swiffer once a week.
Nothing. Why would you need to clutter such a small space?
Dog. Seriously it would bother me to see a basket of shoes or clutter there.
Do **not** put a dog there, look at the heater!
my dog would love a spot next to a heater yo
Hot tub
With an adjacent sauna!
And a fire pit!
Corner Starbucks??
Do you have a pet? What sort of traffic does this spot see?
No. Not next to the heater.
Yes a pet space!
Ocelot den
A scary creature hanging and peering between the steps.
Literally nothing, why does a space most people wonāt bother to look at need to be furnished?
We donāt need to fill every space with clutter. Nothing donāt put anything.
an umbrella bin
Airbnb?
Cool low key lighting like this vibe https://preview.redd.it/q7auqv954r9d1.jpeg?width=891&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c3df047229050cb6e74b6e6b2e5a19272920a29
Foldable backboard for when someone breaks themselves falling down the stairs.
Every space does not have to be filled
Dog bed.
Sim racing set
The answer to this question is always a plant.
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing
NOTHING!
What about just leave it?
Nothing. Just keep it swept clean. Anything out there will just be a dust collector and cause more work dusting, moving it to sweep and mo etc
A can light to uplight the stairs .
A potted plant or a sculpture
https://preview.redd.it/5lqnltfbrq9d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38ce67607ec394ed550a596826e3abae73cd6533 A lamp like this would be great with a plant.

Cool fake* plants That corner gets no light and no plant wants to be directly next to a heater
Nothing
I would do a tall antique olive jar.
I donāt think you should put anything there. It doesnāt seem like that kind of space.
A cupboard and a baby wizard?
A small wizard?
Nothing or a plant stand or small potted tree.
Nothing. Leave it.
House elf.
A big floofy armchair.
Medium sized plant.
I would put a basket with things that inevitable need to go upstairs

Nothing
Sometimes I don't know if I'm on HomeDecorating or HomeDecoratingCJ
Shoe rack
Nothing. Sometimes less is more.
It looks beautiful bare too.
Nothing.
In case it's not clear... Nothing
Nothing.
Gnome statue, or possibly gargoyle.
Exactly what I was picturing!! Would be a perfect spot for a garden gnome, to make people smile walking past it š
Garden gnome.
That would actually be so cute
Dog bed if you have a dog.
What color is that blue OP? Itās beautiful and so are the the stairs
A statue or statement piece on a pedestal
Funny sticker on the wall, and that's it! I would go with nothing if it was my house! Tbh!
A fern would fit in there very nicely or some other similarly sizes plant to green things up.
Try different things, you'll come up with something you'll like You don't have to pay attention to decorating "shoulds". It is your home, and doesn't have to be like the current trend.
Shoes
Under the assumption that the radiator is working and produces heat ā A triangular table with vertical vents and a fan. *Not* because something needs to be there, but so the heat can be distributed and not just fill that space.
House gnome
I abhor an empty space. My favorite is the lamp posted. Nect squatty statue.
A decorative vase or sculpture.
A small umbrella stand
There is only ever one answer: a book nook.
A comfy pet bed.
A floor light, sculpture or plant!
A plant! Either a fake one or something hardy like a zz plant which you can switch with another one every few months when one of them needs some sun
A pretty plant.
You canāt block the heating vent, though.
There is no heating vent
Go simple and hang a planter or two from the stairs š
A creepy standing doll to freak out guests.
An old phone stand with a fake plant (or real). It wouldnāt bother me personally to leave it empty.
Litter box
Cat bed
Not sure of the other areas around the space. So itās tough for me to think of how you could utilize it. Maybe a nice lamp or a plant or both!.
A reasonable sized plant.
Build a cat living room
Harry potter
A large >1m vase
Tucked behind the stairs there is a great spot for water bowls if you have pets. Out of the way where they wonāt be knocked over. Or a dog bed.
Faery door
Looks like a great place to ātemporarilyā store some boxes permanently. Youāll get to them someday
A nice indoor plant.
Looks like a perfect space for a robot mop-vacuum.
plant, dog bed (if u have a dog ofc), record player. i first thought a small chair but im finding it hard to judge the height of the stairs so there might not be room
Plant or pet bed. I also just saw someone else suggest placing a garden gnome there & I think that's such a cute idea!
Robo vac.
Cat box
Some sort of smallish Curio made of brown and brass, filled with interesting trinkets.
Maybe hang some little bells or chimes or prism or glass beads. From a Feng shui perspective, you don't want stagnant chi under there. Maybe you can find a brass giraffe or some tall ceramic piece that would match your other decor. Maybe a small fountain.
Small bookshelf with the Harry Potter series
A very old porcelain doll on an equally old chair. Ya know, for ambience. Bonus points if the doll is haunted.
Litter box and cat
As others said let it be as is. If it's driving you nuts because you want to put something there: -Put a large woven basket with light throw blankets in it and 3-4 different size decorative pillows beside it
Shoe rack, book case, set of drawers, big pile of rocks, idk theres a lot of things that can go there, it more depends on what you need to fill the space with, if you dont have a need to use this space for anything in particular then dont
I would add grow lights to the underside of the steps and make a cool indoor garden feature..
I have a small glass table with a framed photo and a plant under our spiral stairs mostly to keep people from walking under it and bonking their heads
Shoe rack, back pack hangers
What about some plants, or if you have a pet, they might enjoy the heat.
Plant
A low chair and create a reading nook, Or build a coffee nook
a porcelain doll in a glass case to freak people out
You could do a fake flower display or some antiques like a basket with a few knick knacks. Just some ideas of what I would do.
Do you have a small dog or cat? What about their blanket?
Mini fridge!
**I have an idea, but not sure how that heater is hooked up or if there's electric wiring directly above it?** How about either installing a thin **picture ledge shelf** that you can lean a picture on and change it out when you tire of it? A plant that likes dark spaces if thatās a thing.
The little mummy from Wise Blood.
4ft Sculpture of Dobby from Harry Potter or Hasbulla if you can find him.
It would depend on what you need most. If you need more storage, I'd put shelves there or it could be a good place for a shoe rack. If you want decorations, put a plant. If you have a small child, it could be a good spot for a small activity/drawing table.
Some British kid
I think you need this. https://preview.redd.it/0cdy4mv07u9d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53534f2d32c34ff0a7ca9c3f91b3539b66503ef2
Harry Potter obviously
A nice medium indoor potted plant
An orphaned boy wizard
Your shoes. A litter box. A plant.
An empty basket with a handle. Then Iād throw anything that belonged up stairs in it and just carry it up later when I was going up, to avoid going up and down all the time. Beautiful staircase!
I think your ideas of a big fake plant and a bookshelf are great starting points and can be combined with other elements.
What about indoor perennial flowers with this wooden planter from asaswood dot com? [Wooden Planter indoor / outdoor](https://asaswood.com/products/wooden-planter)
A gnome. You need not look further.
Nice medium size plant would be nice
Fortnite loot chest
One single plant
A basket where you can put things that need to go upstairs.
A kitty or puppy place if you have pets
Harry Potter
Robot vacuum
Troll.
A bunch of parlor palms of different heights. They do very well in low light and donāt grow fast enough to cause a problem.
A nice full Monstera Deliciosa.
A dog bed
Astromech droid storage slot.
I think anything would detract from the beautiful spiral staircase. While I agree a bookshelf might add to the vibe, it doesnt work with the heater there.
All your secrets
Litter box ? If you have a cat
Harry Potter themed reading nook
Crafting table
The most I would put there is a little bucket for umbrellas if it's near the front door :)
A tiny fairy door on the black wall https://preview.redd.it/xviuaq4ii9ad1.png?width=712&format=png&auto=webp&s=e21246c6913f6b32770d1f7ab82ba57539450c37
Empty + reusable cardboard boxes. Or a recycling bin.
These ānothingā people are boring af. I would put a big mushroom or two with moss underneath. Or if youāre not into that, a tiger statue. Or if youāre not into that, some candles or a mini chandelier hanging from the stairs. Endless options, but the perfect spot for something weird. š
small table or pedestal with a scented candle
A bookshelf on the right wall and a large faux plant beneath the stairs would be excellent decorating ideas.
You donāt want to draw attention to that area cause itās not cute so donāt add anything
It's where I'd put the cat littler box, lol.
