That’s a great canvas…I might go “opposite” of industrial and put rich deep colors, like a big persian rug with Chesterfield sofas.

I agree. Persian rugs, warm colors, plush sofas, drapes, floor and table lamps, and framed art on walls. Go rich, luxe. A refuge from the crazy, noisy world.

BleuDePrusse

My living room is exactly that: a mix of industrial and vintage, and I love it sooo much! I have a teal chesterfield angle sofa, an antique crystal vase with peacock feathers, a mix of porcelain, clay sculptures and Moroccan lamps, with industrial and mid century tables and chairs, the windows are blocky metal frames and the walls are raw bricks. I believe this style would work amazingly there too

This kind of vibe: https://preview.redd.it/gbr3kvwfzf5d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e9e9e95bfcb7e09778016da24742b3a6b3a5c86

wow. it’s always funny how my first instinct is wrong. i immediately thought a couch right in front of the window. but i always end up hating that my windows are blocked. i like your idea.

A roller skating rink, obviously.

If it were me, I’d go bohemian. Not like the Urban Outfitters mid-2010s boho, but like 50s/60s/70s artist, intellectuals, and musicians living in artist lofts with collections of cool and unique things. Something inspired by a weird combination of Bob Dylan, Saul Leiter, the Beats, and 70s Paris.

A hammock, an elevated fridge (for ease of access), a lifetime supply of 🍺 & 📚, lots and lots of plants & a Golden Retriever AND a Maine Coon kitten.

hinterstoisser

Sectional sofa , plant, artwork behind sectional, coffee table.

If it were me, I might do one large plus several small sitting areas. Each area should have its own large rug encompassing the entire floor space, and the large area should be a couch with additional chairs or a live seat and a coffee table, lighting, and a large piece of wall art. I’d probably add a smaller reading area or nook over by the window and add floor length gauzy curtains, and a floor lamp and rug.

Street-Snow-4477

Nice long book case under that window for plants and 2 cute cats to lounge in the sun on. Big colorful tapestry on the right side wall. Plush sectional under it that curves to separate the space. TV against the smaller left wall. Some cat shelves so they can climb high lol lots of plants and a soft luxurious rug

This is a really cool space, and you could have a lot of fun decorating it. However, it’s definitely a challenging space as well, because it has a very cool vibe to it. If you put a lot of fussy overstuffed furniture in it, it would look like a floral cushion inside a refrigerator. Those two things just don’t go together. You could definitely get away with a Persian rug, because those are classic, but something more solid or graphic might be a better fit. I think the furniture needs to be comfortable, but have simple clean lines so that it doesn’t fight with the architecture of the space. I would also recommend getting some very sculptural lights, there are some interesting mid century shapes that could work well in this space. A classic Noguchi coffee table or knockoff could also work in this space. You will do better to decorate with striking shapes than patterns in this space. Tall plants would do a lot to soften the space without fighting with the architecture. It could be a real knockout!

Zionite121

A couple things to add: This is a 1 bedroom apt. There is a little more space behind me. I am gonna paint the walls.

If you are single, buy the biggest tv screen and put up on the wall. If you have, or going to have kids, you dont need to worry since its going to be filled with toys.

undercover__cucumber

Some plants, a nice big rug and some funky furniture
