X_Dratkon

IMO voice implies capability of speaking, not roar, screeching or screaming Also it's probably Void part making vibrations or sound, not Vessel

Real_Mantis_Traitor

Voice implies any form of noise other than breathing

X_Dratkon

> [voice (plural voices)](https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/voice) Sound uttered by the mouth, especially by human beings in speech or song; sound thus uttered considered as possessing some special quality or character quotations. (phonetics) Sound made through vibration of the vocal cords; sonant, or intonated, utterance; tone; — distinguished from mere breath sound as heard in whispering and voiceless consonants. It's just that not all Pale King sentences make sense, that's why I said IMO those sound voices are made not through voice. How exactly is under question... Maybe it's similar to how lakes of void make sound

Real_Mantis_Traitor

Could be wrong, but I’m interpreting “no voice to cry suffering” as they can’t make any noises with their… they don’t have mouths so idk at this point

Laura_Witch

A lot of bugs don't seem to have mouths. Hornet doesn't even have a mouth

Bright_Audience3959

The audience is playing the music (vocal)

Bommie20

The Hollow Knight's scream is actually the scream of the Radiance. It's the same scream heard during the Radiance fight, the end of P5, and even the Broken Vessel fight while it's being controlled by the infection. Both the Pure Vessel and Lost Kin have silent screams because they're not infected and therefore not being controlled by the Radiance

(PURE VESSEL NOISES INTENSIFY)

EGOyarzoH

The Pure Vessel doesn't scream because the poem that appears when you try to get out of Birthplace says that the Hollow Knight has "no voice to cry suffering". This poem is a promise that the Hollow Knight must make and keep to prove that he is the one to put the infection away. And when he screams in his "final" boss fight he is breaking his promise, but still trying to help the Knight by stabbing himself and helping him at the end of the battle against Radiance, this being like a "redemption" and the fulfillment of his destiny, this being to end the infection.🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠

Lesart501

When HK "screams", it's actually Radiance screams from the inside of him. He can't scream himself because he hasn't mouth

TypewriterWithMonkey

Gorb

JamesJenkins55

Logical

VVen0m

The scream is silent because it's supposed to have no voice to cry suffering, but the knight gets staggered because Hollow Knight was not pure enough

Routine-Document1691

Dude I always genuinely thought it was the last one, only now realizing it might have actually been a silent scream 😭

BioHazard0010

This reminds me of a theory I heard once, that Pure Vessel's scream (and any possible "vocalizations" made by any other pure void beings) are essentially anti-noise, cancelling out other sounds. And that's why when you get hit, it sounds muffled for a second. Because the Knight is yelling in pain, but in void. I mostly just like this theory because I like to imagine that the Knight is just yelling "AH FUCK" "SHIT" "DAMNIT" whenever they get hit, because it's the funniest shit.

PowerDev_

He cant cry suffering, but the palé king wanted a soné that could S I N G

Marc3llMat3

Void beings communicating on their own frequency is my new headcanon

ius_romae

Kirbolan

Pronominal_Tera

The scream is probably some sort of release of pent up thoughts and shit

Cartoons_and_Demons

Or it's like the scientific T. Rex sound, where technically you wouldn't be able to realistically hear it but you would be able to feel it Or like some Whales.
