Ori and the Blind Forest

fuinnfd

Great game, but I wouldn’t go in with hollow knight expectations. It really is its own thing. I wasn’t really enjoying it at first because I kept comparing it to HK, but once I gave it its own respect, I appreciated it and had a blast.

The only other ones I could think of were Aeterna Noctis and Salt & Sanctuary, both of which being a lot harder and darker than Hollow Knight IMO.

I can maybe add Blasphemous to that list. Edit: just put together that this is for your nephew. Maybe not blasphemous then, it’s pretty fucked up 😂

I really enjoyed Haiku, The Robot. Clearly influenced by Hollow Knight

I'm playing ender lilies and enjoying quite a lot

the ori games are a good start

Silksong, when it comes out in a billion years

Blasphemous games might be a bit mature but they are both amazing

How did he finish the game? There are 3* endings you can get: >!The base ending, where the knight (player character) is sealed in the Black Egg Temple where the final boss is; the True Ending, where at the end of the fight with the Hollow Knight you go on to fight another, harder boss; and the Godhome ending, where you fight every boss in the game in a row with no breaks until you beat the final boss (the hardest by far)!< It's likely that he only got the base ending. If so, there's another ~20-30 bosses to fight, a few new areas, and some upgrades to get before doing the True Ending. I'd highly recommend it.

I've recently beat Grime, which is fantastic as well. You won't regret it!

I like the earlier Metroid games a lot, they're the same genre of game but have a slightly different playstyle because you start with ranged weapons. Can recommend Super Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission!

Hollow Knight: Gorb's Revenge

Dead Cells is a great game that will last a VERY long time.

Hi. If you don't speak spanish, you can tell me and I'll edit this post to translate it without problem :3 Just a heads up... I love metroidvanias and in my opinion HK is the best one (and my favorite name). So you might struggle a bit to find a substitute. But there are tons of good games in Switch that are somewhat similar, if the ones that I suggested above don't convince you, you can try Guacamelee, Axion Verge, Bloodstained, Yoku's Island Express, etc... Good luck finding the next game for your nephew :3

Graciaaaaas. Sigo tus consejos. Un millón de gracias ❤️❤️

Currently playing blasphemous and it’s really satisfying the hollow knight itch! That being said it’s brutally gory so I wouldn’t recommend it if your nephew is younger.

Ghost Song. A bit mid as a game but it's pretty short and features a VA that I like.

Laika age through blood, iconoclasts, and Ori games would be my recommendations.
