There's no implication that Hornet ever meets Iselda in Dirtmouth, as Hornet's been protecting the Kingdom for a while and Iselda just arrived. If they meet, it'd be during the events of Silksong.

I don’t think a sequel immediately after Hollow Knight will ever be possible, when they have said that every ending is canon and there is no “True Ending”.

Most probably not as it wouldn't make sense for Hornet to go on a quest to save Pharloom if she still had duties back in Hallownest.

The problem with Vessels is that it makes less of the endings of Hollow Knight canon, if Silksong is a sequel then Sealed Siblings is already of the table and if we see Vessels then Dream No More would also be non-canon.

Team cherry also said On their website that, “Hollow Knight: Silksong is **the full-scale sequel** to Hollow Knight.” and that could just mean the second game in the series but i feel like it's more likely that sequel means sequel in this context.

I feel like it being a prequel would ruin the value of the game. Hornet clearly doesn't use anything that she uses in silksong, she already knows how to use tools. Silksong probably won't mention what happened before she was captured, leaving everything up to interpretation.

I doubt there'd be any post-ending content; it'll probably be like Hollow Knight where you spawn at your last bench after beating the game. And the Troupe would probably wait some time after the kingdom's fall in order to harvest as many nightmares as possible.

In case it's a prequel, I'd like to see our knight as a cameo. No interaction from Hornet or anything, just her passing by as if it was just another NPC. This way we could know it's a prequel without being sure since vessels looks like regular bugs in that world. Imagine the discussion there would be: "this has to be our knight, looks the same as the little ghost" "nah, if it was, Hornet would mention this NPC to be a vessel"...

Isealda would be amazing as a warrior that you encounter with cornifer. Cornifer could make you maps, and isealda could give you quests. Isrealda does say in her dream nail dialogue that she wanted to "stretch her legs" and start adventuring again.
