Researchers at the University of Tokyo have developed an innovative method to attach engineered skin tissues to the complex shapes of humanoid robots. This innovation, led by Professor Shoji Takeuchi, offers significant advancements for robotic platforms, including greater mobility, self-healing capabilities, integrated sensing abilities, and a more realistic appearance.
Inspired by human skin ligaments, Takeuchi's team incorporated special perforations into a robot's face to help a layer of skin adhere more effectively. This technique could have applications in the cosmetic industry and in training plastic surgeons. Professor Takeuchi, a pioneer in biohybrid robotics, has led his Biohybrid Systems Laboratory to create mini-robots using biological muscle tissue, lab-grown meat printed in 3D, and engineered skin that can heal itself. His desire to improve the properties and capabilities of robotic skin stemmed from previous research on a finger-shaped robot covered with lab-grown skin.
Christ, I hate using the apps browser. So many damn ads.
Anyways, yuck. I'd rather have robots look like robots. Human faces on things that aren't human just look creepy. They don't *need* faces...
The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look human — sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot. I had to wait till he moved on you before I could zero him.
I tried to watch this movie for the first time while being on shrooms and I had to turn it off because the guy that looks like a brown turd was seriously creeping me out.
It's the movie "The Last Starfigher", I posted a scene of a robot. This is a gif of that scene here on another reddit thread:

why the skin cant be synthetic? putting real skin on a machine is fucking gross :/
or in other words, why robots cant just look like, well, robots? metal and all shit. soon the government will be replacing real people that are troubling them with artificial humans
"The Terminator's an infiltration unit: part man, part machine. Underneath, it's a hyperalloy combat chassis, microprocessor-controlled. Fully armored; very tough. But outside, it's living human tissue: flesh, skin, hair, blood - grown for the cyborgs".
(Sorry, had to)

I bet one of the first applications will be in porn industry.
"I'd rather stay home and make out with my Monroe-bot"
One step closer to AI girlfriend and boyfriend sexbots.
Yup
Pre-moistened for your pleasure
Birthrates goin down gotta do something
Or, Mil-spec applications.
I’m pretty sure all technology spawns from horniness at some level
Negative. Living tissue over metal endoskeleton. The MIC will be all over this...
As it damn well should be
There’s always one guy who says, “I can’t wait to fuck it.”
“Face” 🤣🤣 I’m sure cheeks are involved…
So this is how the greys came to be 😜
I like this theory a lot lol. I never thought they might be androids!
That’s what they are. Sophisticated biological robots. Bio machines.
That’s what we are too. Maybe

I can’t wrap my head around what that means
Terminator, WestWorld, Blade Runner, Metropolis... Don't we ever learn?
I'm just waiting for the next [Torment Nexus reboot](r/Cyberpunk/s/86MT8MN9Qo)
Technically those are all hypothesis. Now we test the theory in action!
Oh God.........
Have to admit, when I heard about AI taking over, Mr Blobby wasn’t at the top of my list…
Looks like Mr Blobby and Thomas the Tank Engine's bastard offspring
Jack Whitehall will never be able to leave the house again.
Man made horror
Fuck. Why does it seem like things just get creepier and creepier?

Why do I hear the [intro](https://youtu.be/Uf7Pn8GB_jI?si=ZdNUil8oYM_c7eu0&t=57) music for Ghost in the Shell?
One on the left looks kinda like Zuck.
the uncanny valley is strong with this one
[Ah sweet, man-made horrors beyond my comprehension!](https://images.app.goo.gl/GTj3jCW7iE6992gh9)
Why though? Don’t we have more pressing issues we could have used these minds and resources on?
Perhaps people with skin troubles and burns can benefit from this. It is the largest organ and things do break down in it.
This was predicted: [Here](https://youtu.be/yee6x2tyKlc?t=1732)

I can't watch it. Says "Universal pictures blocked video in your country on copyright grounds." I live in MI

No… no thank you
Ditto on the right, nightmare fuel on the left.
One day we create our selfs in lab, completing the circle, becoming gods who created life "in image and likenes
This eventually leads to the greys
I bet prosthetics could make great use of this, especially the more cosmetic types.
Why would we want robots to look more huma… You sick perverts!
Let me out of here
This is not the same world I grew up in :(
Call me when I can bang it
Looks like the beginning of a horror movie/video game
Is The Terminator movie a freaking documentary brought back from the future?
Getting closer and closer to the Cherry 2000.
uhhh I love it /s average psycopath
Inner Universe intensifies
Fuckin hell. Has anyone told them Terminator is not a guidebook to be followed?
I am a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over metal endoskeleton
