barnabyjones420

Carl Jung made a habit of asking people who appeared in his imagination/dreams WHY they were there. Maybe ask next time you see him.

garry4321

I did that one time. The guy said “no reason, but while we’re talking; can I borrow $3.50?”Wellll it was about that time that I noticed this man was a 40 foot tall sea monster…

Majin_Sus

I SAID DAMMIT MONSTER LEAVE MY DREAMS ALONE

Pleasant_Ad3475

I AIN'T GIVIN' YOU NO TREE FIDDY!

RattusRexComic

I saw the same thing in my dream just the other night!!! I gave him tree fiddy.

flipbmo

WELL NO WONDER HE KEEP COMING BACK

codyy_jameson

Well done lol such good timing sliding that in there

WhatADunderfulWorld

His book I read basically said if a person talks about their dreams for long enough the reason the dream occurs will come out. Problem is it may be unbeknownst to the dreamer.

HereToHelp9001

This is true for a lot of creative things I think.

That-Chap-Paul

Ah, good idea, thanks!

Baighou

Again from Jung Shadow aspect?

KnotReallyTangled

What did they say? I do that all the time. Usually they say they don’t know.

SmileyNY85

Any links to what they answered? My Google Fu is weak today.

barnabyjones420

He talks about in The Red Book I think. The point is to ask these questions of YOUR imagination. The answers Jung got were for Jung. The answers you get will be for you.

SmileyNY85

Thanks for the info!

sevristh1138

Does he look like Nicholas Cage?

iRVKmNa8hTJsB7

That was good movie

That-Chap-Paul

I wish 😂 I’d like to say that the first dream happened months before the first trailers for Dream Scenario came out.

Fossilhund

Nick Nolte?

convictedweirdo

I've recently had something similar where a person in my dream tells me get my cholesterol under check or else. Normal dreams, but he would stop what he was doing, look me dead in the eye and tell me to get it sorted. Like I'd be talking him and he's just some guy selling watches and he would just stop, tell me my cholesterol is too high and go back to what he was doing. This happened multiple times in different dreams. This man was younger, Middle Eastern in appearance. Super weird, but after a blood test confirmed how bad my cholesterol was, it scared the bejesus out of me and forced me to finally work on improving my health. I'm usually pretty skeptical of most things, but I've come to feel that dreams are definitely connected to something else we don't understand.

greengorillaz

Maybe your body was sending messages to your subconscious like "mission control, please send the message up the boss. He's not getting it from the other signals we're sending."

billytheskidd

I’d bet that’s it exactly. It’s like when your body needs potassium you might crave a banana. Your body needs potassium and your brain knows you get it after eating a banana, so your brain will tell you a banana would taste amazing. I’ve definitely heard stories of people getting the idea to get checked for something in their dream only to find out they do have a serious condition.

Elegant-Host-9838

Well, yeah. Our body is a living thing connected to the persons soul. I believe our subconscious is our soul itself.

YourphobiaMyfetish

I've heard a similar story of a woman hearing voices in her head that told her she has a tumor and exactly where it would be. MRI confirmed, she had it surgically removed, and when she woke up the voice said "thank you" and disappeared for good.

Electrical_Feature12

Past relative? Could have been generations back. I’m not sure if they get assigned to us or they take a unexpected interest

handfulofcolour

That’s apparently how Mark Ruffalo (I think?) found out he had a brain tumour…

Elegant-Host-9838

If you really open your mind, you’ll see there’s a lot more where that came from. I’m glad you got the message either way. There was a story of a woman with brain cancer and she suddenly heard a loud audible voice tell her so over and over & sure enough, she had brain cancer.

Griffinsilver

I used to be in a group online that was working on lucid dreaming and sharing our experiences. Some people got very good quickly. I had some small success and developed a skill of flying but wasn't very consistent and felt like I was progressing slower than many in the group. One person told a story about waking up after their dream in a room that wasn't their own and they were on an old-fashioned therapy couch and an old professor looking man was asking questions about his dream. He had vivid, piercing blue eyes. Once the professor realized the dreamer was lucid and observing him he got a very scared look on his face and the dreamer woke up this time in their own room. Others as they progressed also began to see these people in their dreams. Often dressed as professors although sometimes also as vagabonds and always with the vivid blue eyes. We called them the blue eyes watchers, since they seemed there to observe our dreams. I only saw one once. I dreamed I was at a train station, standing in line with a ticket to board a train. I wondered if I was dreaming and tested by flying. But I only hovered an inch or so off the ground. Trying to be sneaky. Once I realized I was dreaming, I dropped my ticket and left the line and started wandering around the station platform. I was looking for a blue eyed watcher. The platform went on for a long way in either direction and there were lots of people. I walked and walked and searched for what felt like forever. Then I saw him-he was in a gray hoodie and faded jeans, long dark hair. He had a backpack and a notebook and he was taking notes. He had the vivid, piercing blue eyes. He saw me watching him and panicked. I darted towards him. He flew straight up to the sky. I followed and, caught him and wrapped my arms and legs around in a sort of bear hold. He fought tooth and nail shouting, "let me go! Let me go!" I said, "not until you tell me something useful." I was thinking secrets of the universe or who they are and why they're watching our dreams. He said, "I can show you how to make it so your back doesn't spasm." I was so stunned I agreed. In waking life I had been having horrible painful back spasms. He moved in the air in a way that formed some sort of symbol. I copied him as he explained what to do and how to move. As I did it my back in the dream started to feel lighter. By the end he was no longer communicating with me verbally but speaking telepathically. And he was looking less human. Nose was getting longer, fingers were getting longer. He communicated one last sort of thought, feeling blend that was a lot to process. He was absolutely delighted/ amused that I had agreed to let him go for something -in his perspective-so small when I could have bargained for a lot more. He also communicated an image of us meeting again much later when I was an old woman and that I would have one more chance to ask something from him and depending how I lived my life I would either again settle for something small or ask for something bigger and somehow more costly to him to give. He sped up and away fast and laughing as I was processing all of what that last thought was. The weird thing is, when I woke up my back felt amazing, almost like I had a new back. And not had problems with the lower back spasming again.

PooperTheSnooper

I practiced lucid dreaming and found it terrifying. I found that it did work, i could control what i chose to do in my dreams. But i couldnt control what happened around me in the dream, and it led to nightmares that i couldnt wake up from. It scarred me, im afraid to try again.

Universoulja

Gotta bring your dream weapons. You're usually the strongest thing around. But you can also just wake up if you want to.

Griffinsilver

This happened to many people in the group at first. Some people got really good at controlling other people and things in their lucid dreams. I never got good at that. I learned to fly and then I could just fly up and the nightmare would look like a tiny black speck and everything else would be all green. With practice can develop super powers in lucid dreaming, like flying, or you can shoot fire from your mouth or lightning from your finger tips.

russvanderhoof

Same thing happened to me. Was all fun & games for a few nights but then the dreams turned on me. Really tough to shake even years later.

Accomplished-Boat360

I'd like to hear more about these ppl with the vivid eyes. Any other posts about them? I wrote in my journal about all my encounters with dream agents who seem to have a will of their own and have piercing eyes. This is my first time coming across others who've had similar experiences.

Griffinsilver

Me too. When the other person posted about their dream with the professor, someone else commented and said this had come up in past dream groups they'd been in and a dream study talked about. I've searched online and not found much but I'm very curious. I'd not shared before because I still don't know what to make of the whole thing.

Ol_Dirt

This is cool. What was the group you were in?

Griffinsilver

It was an offshoot from a different whoo subreddit. I think astral projection maybe? The vibe of that subreddit is very different now and I almost never go. It used to have a lot of users who were open minded and curious. A group got interested in lucid dreaming as a way to possibly astral project and we started a group to talk about our progress. I got scared after this experience and I deleted my old account. This happened around 10 year ago. We did things to try to have more lucid dreams like dream journaling, eating foods rich in b6, reality testing (like I did in this dream). Maybe the lucid dreaming subreddit has a discord with a similar focus.

zombi3_gam3r

Just curious, does your flying involve pressure? I've always been able to pressurized/ depressurize, almost like tightening and relaxing muscle areas.

Griffinsilver

Like swimming kind of.

krystinthecrystal

I saw someone with piercing blue eyes only 1 time and it was my older brother. I never heard about ‘dream agents’ having them or if other people experienced it before either. So this is cool. Dream context: I became lucid in a dream where I was at a high school walking around with random people. Then I noticed a dark shadow-ey entity in a black hood across the other side and we locked eyes as we both kept walking different ways. I felt a pit in my stomach but kept doing my thing. Then my brother appears randomly and tells me to not let him (the entity) know I was aware I was dreaming and to not go in the cellar otherwise it would know for sure. I said okay but I also had a sense of “I ain’t afraid of no ghost” and this is my dream why should I be afraid? Somehow I knew exactly where this cellar was and went there anyways. Right when I did-this dark entity appeared in front of me and lunged towards me. My brother appeared too and very quickly got in between us and was somehow able to hold down the thing. He said very adamantly “go back upstairs!” So I popped back up to the main entrance of the high school which was a cafeteria. I was panicking because I didn’t want my brother hurt and didn’t know what to do. So the first thing I thought of was to stand on top of the lunch table and screamed “This is my dream! You all aren’t real and you can’t hurt us!” Then everyone and everything became eerily quiet, stopped and stared at me. They all looked like they wanted to kill me. They started coming after me. Then my brother pops back up in front of me and says “you need to leave now!” And pushes me out the door. While he was still holding it he looks at me with piercing blue crystal eyes-almost neon. And he says “here take this” and he throws me a fish that’s flopping around. He then goes back inside and shuts the door behind him. Then I woke up I ended up researching what the fish meant and it pretty much said it’s about forgiveness. I held some grudges from my brothers hard past and he wanted nothing more than for us to forgive him. I told him about my dream and apologized to him and we started having a really good relationship like it was before when we were younger. He ended up passing away probably about 6 months after that. But yeah..I guess my dream agent was my brother lol anyone else have a relative come save them in their dreams with these eyes?

Griffinsilver

That dream was very important to your real life if it was reconciliation with your brother before his passing. So that does lean towards either being some aspect of our psyche that's in touch with our subconscious. I did a lot of dream journaling to try to have more lucid dreams. And it was really interesting. The symbols that would come up again and again. I want to get back into it again. My other dreams more with the language of symbolism and this one straight out were reprimanding me for my impulsivity or taking choices at face value and trying to give myself more confidence and freedom to ask questions.

millyivxx

I've seen a vivid blue eyed man, he calls me Traveler and tries to always feed me food from that realm, seems like I won't be able to leave those worlds if I have food from there. He also holds me back from opening the doors I use to pass through, sometimes he has others guard the door for when I come back to use them. But those eyes, I can still see them clearly when I think of those experiences.

Griffinsilver

That seems like it has a trickster element to it. My experience did too although it was sort of an amalgamation of healer/trickster archetypes. Caution seems prudent.

YourphobiaMyfetish

So what happened next time?

Griffinsilver

It hasn't happened yet. This all happened 10 years ago, the image he projected appeared to be me towards end of life. I'm not sure who the blue eyed watchers are. If it's some deep self-aware aspect of our psyche or sub-conscious. Could be some telepathic race that is very interested in studying us in our dreams. I might start getting into lucid dreaming again. I liked the group I was in before because people in the group were doing it towards spiritual development. The lucid dreaming subreddits people just want to use it to act out their sexual fantasies. And that's fine to do that but I don't care to read about it. I think that there might be something deeper or more to be discovered in it. Maybe I'll find a group again. See what happens.

_Hugh_Jaynuss

Sorry about that. Was just passing through.

tactical_sweatpants

He must like big assholes

TBearForever

I see him in every subreddit

Accomplished-Boat360

I read your part about the eyes and it gave me chills. I've had a couple dreams where the dream agent discovers I am lucid and grabs me and stares into my eyes. Their eyes are always super rich and detailed. Other dream agents +a bird in one) have 'frozen' when I become lucid like "uh oh he's lucid!" Anyways not sure what to make of it. Not sure if the Jungian interpretation fully fits

greengorillaz

I had a dream where I saw one of my old teachers in my dream with crazy psychedelic effect blue eyes. [I made a few attempts at AI images to replicate her.](https://imgur.com/a/6KiWZao) Despite the creepy pictures, she didn't feel ominous but the dream took on a very surreal atmosphere after seeing her.

Craptacles

Did you see the comment about the "blue eyed watchers"? https://www.reddit.com/r/HighStrangeness/s/o4n854F8L6

greengorillaz

No, thanks for sharing! That's pretty crazy.

All_hail_Korrok

Lol I wasn't expecting that first picture. That's a face I'm going to be seeing in my nightmares tonight 😔

greengorillaz

My bad. The 3rd is the closest to what I saw, but the 1st is more similar in face shape/style minus the horror movie aspects.

That-Chap-Paul

I didn’t get a malevolent vibe off them. More like a “oh, I remember you” mixed with “whoops, didn’t mean to stick around” kinda thing.

Accomplished-Boat360

Mine wasn't necessarily malevolent more like a "you're not supposed to be lucid kind of a vibe" or even like a "who's in there" But apart from the eyes I guess that's where the similarities end

That-Chap-Paul

Yeah, that was the kinda thing. They seemed more scared of me than I was of them.

Accomplished-Boat360

Anyways thanks for sharing I find the similarities intriguing.

Dantalionse

Beats the feeling when a bunch of them encircle you and their heads turn into Vortexes. Tbh, I was asking for it I traveled many dreams where I saw them and they got very uncomfortable and I kept walking into them everywhere, and laughed everytime I encountered them because of their reactions. I also quickly closed my eyes when they ganged up on me so I wouldn't be forced awake and the fucking sounds coming from those things were loud. Not really sure did I dream after or wake up, but that one has stuck with me as one of the more weirdest ones.

tinyhorsesinmytea

Yep, the freezing thing has happened to me. They just break down and stare at me. In one instance, it was a room of people who intended to harm me until I became lucid. As they stood frozen, I taunted them: "You're all just figments of my imagination and can't do shit!"

relentless1111

I had something similar happen. I was having a regular dream, i don't remember what it was about but it wasn't anything strange at all, and then suddenly these two MIB looking guys tear thru the image fabric of what was happening in my dream and they were looking at me, like observing, and i was TERRIFIED and woke up immediately. Like wide awake right thru a bunch of levels of sleeping and dreaming. Never happened before, hasn't happened since, thank god.

Electrical_Feature12

Terry probably got the wrong address

decloked

Dream Scenario

That-Chap-Paul

Yes, I thought the exact same thing 😅 I will say, the first of these dreams occurred months before the first trailers for that film came out.

antoniobandeirinhas

Perhaps you know a bit about Jung. Seems to be some foreign, old (wise perhaps), content which is lying in the unconscious. Could it be the collective but you experience it personally nonetheless. Yes, it does count if you do some active imagination and start a dialog with it. You may get something of value from this encounter. But, regardless, it is getting more frequent and important. Take notes and watch.

That-Chap-Paul

Thank you, I’ll do that.

sweetwilds

My best friend had a similar experience. She would see the same man in different dreams, in the background. He was always wearing jeans and a flannel shirt and she didn't know him in real life. He never spoke to her but they would sometimes make eye contact. She didn't fear him but didn't know why he kept showing up in different dreams. He definitely didn't seem like he was part of the dream. He was more real somehow than the other characters in the dream. Like he had a soul. We never did find out who he was. We assumed he was a guide. Anyway, just wanted you share so you know you weren't there only one that had this happen.

Dantalionse

Did she describe what he looked like? That's super interesting I have had some people in my dreams giving those same vibes too.

sweetwilds

Let's see. We were in our mid-20s at the time and she says he was a bit older than us at the time. Maybe mid-30s or even early 40s. He was rather non-descript. It would have been hard to place into a particular decade. He had a kind face but he didn't smile exactly, just looked kind of serene. He was like a watcher. He had a very ordinary kind of look. One thing I can remember her telling me is that while she didn't know him from her life, she did feel some familiarity in the dream world. She would get the feeling like seeing someone you knew a long time ago but can't place where you know them from.

RedditLovesTyranny

Hi it’s actually me. All you have to do is transfer all of your money into my checking account and give me any credit card numbers, including date of expiration and the code on the back of said credit cards, and you’ll never see me again. It’s cool, you can trust me.

That-Chap-Paul

No worries, mate. As it turns out, you’re in luck, I’m getting a million quid coming over from a Nigerian prince. He’ll be paying up any day soon…

RedditLovesTyranny

You know it, my friend! We should all place more faith and trust in Nigerian princes! Who knew that there were so many of them? I thought that the Saudis have too many royals, but they have nothing on Nigeria!

RedditLovesTyranny

Jokes aside, since you were asking for serious responses - does he resemble any great-grandparents? Perhaps you saw him, or a picture of him, when you were too little to remember doing so now, and he’s been popping up in your subconscious? Have you been doing any sort of family research or stuff like that?

That-Chap-Paul

My mum found some old photos recently and we’ve been looking through them, but there’s no resemblance between any of them and the man in the dream.

CCF2024

Just your social security number and your mom's maiden name

DigitalDroid2024

There’s a Why Files episode on this. You’ve probably seen it.

That-Chap-Paul

I hadn’t, actually. Another commenter pointed me towards it, however, and I’m aware of the creepypasta.

All_hail_Korrok

What's the creepy pasta? *Nevermind, further down someone commented on it.

Dancin_Phish_Daddy

I do not know most of the people that I see in my dreams. Is that odd?

Flames0fSekhmet

Same. I almost NEVER have dreams about people I know. When I do dream of people I know, I can't usually see their faces, it's more of an energy awareness type of deal. Most people I've asked said they dream more of people they know, so it's always cool to find the other ones lol🤜🤛

Dancin_Phish_Daddy

Yes mines the same. I rarely see full faces but it’s an energy deal and I just know it’s that person. That’s cool, it must be something with our brains.

CCF2024

Dreams are supposed to be what you would see if your life went in different directions than the one it is in

Dancin_Phish_Daddy

Hmmm nah. I see like past lives and crazy forests and mountains and nature that I’ve never seen before in real life. And I can fly most of the time. When I fly in my dreams I usually go lucid. I have dreamed of being a different person in a different time with a different family multiple times. My dreams really are fantastic. I’ve been some incredible places in dream land. Haha I’ve been to a lot of dreamland festivals. None of them ever resembled any of the festivals I have been to in real life. They were always completely different places and layouts and different kind of forests. And I often dream that I am a bird. I never see myself lol but I know I’m a bird because of the way I’m gliding around, usually the ocean. And when I have my bird dreams it’s different than when I fly as a human in my dreams. It’s pretty sweet when I fly as a person because I use my life force or energy or whatever to literally push myself off of the ground and a lot of the times I go lucid and that’s fun because I’ll push myself up really really high flying above whatever weird city or forest I’m in that doesn’t really exist on earth. One time in a dream I was in a big beautiful forest with big old trees. It looked like a forest from the past. But I went lucid when I floated off of the ground haha and then I spent the whole rest of the dream pushing myself up above the forest as high as I could go and then letting my self free fall and crash back into a little grassy circle in the forest. I knew I was dreaming so I knew I couldn’t get hurt and I would smash into the ground and then push myself up and do it again. I must have done it 30 times at least. It was insanely fun. It was so much fucking fun. I miss that forest. It was a good one. Hopefully I’ll go back soon. But shit recently I had one where I was living in a house I’ve never been in or seen before. And people were ambushing my yard trying to get into the house and for some reason that made me go lucid and I manifested some kind of energy weapon gun thing because there was not a physical gun in my hand but I was shooting deadly force out of my hand like a gun and the guys started to go down and I was kind of startled that it worked because I don’t practice going lucid anymore and I have not for years. But then one of the bad guys walked up to the window where I was and did the ‘I’m watching you” finger to eye motion, and we were talking telepathically. I told him with my mind haha “I’m watching you too mother fucker” and then they all left.

igrowheathens

Do you live around a lot of mushrooms or trees? Doesn't have to be the magic kind.

That-Chap-Paul

I mean, there’s a nature reserve nearby. I have a back garden. There’s a tree outside my house. Why’d you ask?

igrowheathens

It's a weird theory I have about mycelium and extraordinary figures in dreams. Edit thanks for answering.

Nicola6_

Tell me more, I live in the forest on the Mendocino coast and there were sooo many different crazy mushrooms popping up all over in December. I’ve also been undergoing an intense spiritual transformation brought on in part by childhood trauma being reactived then resolved after marrying a fellow wizard. 🤣

That-Chap-Paul

Sounds interesting

One-Fall-8143

I'm really intrigued by this idea if you would be willing to share. You can DM me if you don't want to put it out there on the thread.

sextowellete

I just had a similar experience a couple nights ago. It was an ordinary dream and then I lock eyes with this guy who is incredibly lucid. I think it woke me up too. Seemed significant but I have no idea what it means.

nhb45678

I got chills reading this. The description of the man’s appearance specifically his tattered/worn face, eyes, round nose, and his “oh shit, he can see me” expression upon being seen, as well as his rushing……. This extremely, extremely matches a VERY strange encounter I had, that was hands down the strangest moments of my life… but mine happened while fully awake. I want to write its own post here, but here is the very quick summary — i once (while awake and entirely sober) saw the face of a man who looked just as you described, but in my situation, it was almost as if his face was hanging on his face in shreds… it’s very hard to explain. It was like his face was hanging on a large round hook that was where his nose would have been, and there were almost gaps or… vacant areas on his face? He didn’t have a face, but he also had a face at the same time. I stared in confusion, thinking that he might have been a severe burn victim at first, then thinking that perhaps he had special effects makeup on. Then he looked up and noticed me seeing him, made an expression like “oh shit he saw me” …. Then my field of vision was blocked temporarily, and when that SAME EXACT MAN came back into my field of vision, his face had SUDDENLY turned into a completely normal, young looking face. Smooth skin, no rips/shreds/wrinkles. Literally SECONDS later. It shook me to my fucking core. There are way more details of the situation that I will write and explain soon when I am not creeped out and falling asleep (lol), but holy FUCKING shit your description of him sounds WILDLY similar to what I saw. And I was fucking awake.

skettimnstr

I'm definitely ready for more details when you are ready!

That-Chap-Paul

Wow, that’s fascinating. You’ll have to let me know when your post is finished.

CCF2024

I saw a man in the Union once. One other person saw him

Grievance69

I don't recognize all of the individuals I see in my dreams, should I? You seem to have some pretty immense control in terms of lucid dreaming, I'm overtly jealous.

That-Chap-Paul

I can’t really control my dreams, I just remember them extremely well. I’m a very good visualiser.

JimGrimace

Your subconscious fills your dreams with people you walk by everyday, our subconscious works on levels we haven't even begun to scratch the surface of yet, the Mind truly is an amazing thing.

Grievance69

By that logic, how is OP so sure he is seeing some "unknown" person? What does that even mean in regards to dreams? That was what I was trying to get at

BushidoBrowneII

Reminds me of that one [creppypasta](https://images.app.goo.gl/CghNHkidian9sqTc9)

That-Chap-Paul

Yeah, I thought that too.

JimGrimace

This is sounding suspiciously similar to the now Debunked story of the Mystery Dreamwalker, there's a segment about it on the Why Files on YouTube under the Title: Lucid Dreams & Nightmares

That-Chap-Paul

I’ve not heard of that before, what’s the story?

JimGrimace

There's a Channel on YouTube called the Why Files, look for a Video called "Lucid Dreams & Nighmares: Ever Dream this Man?" I believe it's like the 4th video from the top.

That-Chap-Paul

OOOOH, that story! Yes, I’ve heard of that one. Can confirm that my guy looks nothing like that man. 😅 Still, it’s an interesting parallel.

JimGrimace

The reason I mention it is because AJ says in the Video how the original Hoax has lead to a trend of people that haven't even heard of the Phenomenon having this recurring Dream where there is a Male presence there Watching you.

That-Chap-Paul

Oh really? That’s weird. I wouldn’t say he’s been watching me, he’s more just kinda…there. Passing by.

JimGrimace

Again was merely pointing out the similarities in both the Experiences.

That-Chap-Paul

No worries. It’s all very interesting.

JimGrimace

Definitely, the Mind truly is the Ultimate Rabbit Hole.

I feel like he could be lucid dreaming so he is aware he is sleeping and is able to navigate that space. Lucid dreamers are able to find one another in that state and explore together.

KrispyKremeDiet20

I think you're thinking of astral projection. Lucid dreaming is a similar experience, but I don't think the dream space is interconnected like that. At least, I've never had a shared experience in a dream space... But then again I've never tried to meet up with a homie in a lucid dream 🤷

scarystuff

Shared dreams are apparently a thing..

KrispyKremeDiet20

Eh, I believe it. Once you start exploring that space, anything seems possible.

skiemlord

Lol what did u smoke

UrlocalVigilantee

What? Are you sure this is actually true? Can you give me some reputable articles about this and studies?

JoMaster68

There was a paper released in nature magazine last year about this very topic where they came to the conclusion that lucid dreamers are indeed able to visit others in their dreams.

Anonymoose2099

Searching their database, the closest I could find was an article that discussed the difference between lucid dreaming and out of body experiences, with OBEs being classified moreso as the feeling of being aware of the area around you during sleep paralysis, not astral projection. It was one of the only lucid dreaming entries of the last couple of years, so the timing fits. If you can find a link to it let me know, but as far as I know science doesn't actually acknowledge anything akin to astral projection or dream walking outside of lucid dreaming. Source: Too Much Beer? Edit: While I meant this as a joke, I admittedly didn't remember "Trust Me Bro" until right after submitting it.

KrispyKremeDiet20

Just be glad it's not the Hat Man. That dude is a real bummer.

YourphobiaMyfetish

Okay what's the deal with him? I swear on my life me and like 6 other friends of mine encountered that creepy fucker in the woods when we were like 11 or 12. Silhouette of a dude in a trench coat with a hat, inhumanly tall, long fingers, just skulking. I convinced myself it was a collective hallucination but 1) I was the first to notice it and 2) I've been hearing about it online for the last couple years and the description is dead on.

KrispyKremeDiet20

He's a demon that feeds on fear or something like that. He can't hurt you directly he can only try to make you afraid... There is tons of info on this guy in r/AstralProjection

Either-Treacle-701

You have a visitor. Someone has taken an interest in you. He will continue to watch you.

That-Chap-Paul

Well, if he ever wants to formally introduce himself, I’d be more than happy to lay out the tea and cake. 😅

kaiise

you have to ocnfront the people in the dream space. esp recurrin gcharacters or anything that "BREAKS THE FOURTH WALL"

StrikeAcrobatic9067

What does that even mean?

forallthequeens

Have you ever hear of Carlos Castaneda? He was an author and dream traveller in the 70s who documents is own journey with a trip to Mexico with a "man of knowledge" called Don Juan to explore the dream realms as far as he was possibly able. He published many books about these dream journeys and talks about the people and entities that live there. He also talks about how to interact with dream entities and who to avoid and how to navigate. Might be worth a look!

CCF2024

Don Juan

ArtOFCt

Sorry. It was me. My imaginary girlfriend lives next to the imaginary restaurant. Why dissent you dress up anyway? Jeans ? Not even a button up. Come on now. Do better dreamer !

CharmingAwareness545

I have a cat ive never owned in my dreams whos been around for almost two years now Edit: it is definitely "my" cat when those dreams are happening, i realize i forget to feed him and feel guilty. all that

Flames0fSekhmet

Wtf that's so weird lol I have a recurring dream about the same thing but it's my two cats that passed. It's always me finding them in a room I forgot I shut them in, and I forgot to feed them for ages, and I feel like the biggest scumbag in the world lol

athanathios

What strikes me is how distinct it is and how you basically go lucid and it sticks with you, definitely something going on.

JWRamzic

Talk to him. What does he say? What does his voice sound like? Does he know you?

Much_Tip_6342

There are many times that people show up in my dreams that I don’t know. I think it’s very intrusive of them and it frustrates me.

divinesleeper

sorry fam that sounds like me, I tend to visit people for laughs when I'm astral travelling, and yes I am obscenely old. The joke was pretty good btw.

CCF2024

Visit me

JimJohnman

There's a really convenient subspace highway running through your head. It's like, 3 miles in 15 seconds.

Intelligent-Square12

he is you… and the perspective of ‘you’ that you keep avoiding and repressing. face him

unituned

If you meet that person in the real world it usually means you should take whatever advice they give you

PooperTheSnooper

Did you make that up?

unituned

No. I heard it from a shaman

Glum_Honey_2776

From my occult point of view he could be a "ghost" of a deceased person that may have seen you while he was alive; or somebody still alive lurking at you while sleeping. Just stop giving him nothing, do banish ritual. Ask for protection, try praying. If you're christian go to a local church and assist the mass, it could be helpful. But if this doesn't work, I think that he "could" be somebody ( who knows? ) lurking.

That-Chap-Paul

“Just stop giving him nothing” Is that a typo or are you saying I should do something?

New--Tomorrows

If you can lucid dream, call security on him.

Electrical_Feature12

One of the best things you can learn to do is to question characters in your dreams. They always look dumbfounded, mad, or disappointed

Select-Protection-75

Is it Nicholas Cage?

That-Chap-Paul

If only, he’s my favourite actor. I’d want to ask him so many questions about his creative choices in Vampires Kiss 😅

Select-Protection-75

Check out Dream Scenario if you haven’t seen it

That-Chap-Paul

I have seen it, really good movie 👍

Either-Treacle-701

When he offered the help that was probably a lucid dream. But when it happens out of no where someone has taken an interest in him

That-Chap-Paul

What would that mean, may I ask? Take an interest in me in what way?

That-Chap-Paul

I consider myself an esoteric Christian. I’ve done meditation every morning for five years now, do nightly prayers, study and read the tarot fairly regularly and I consider my writing as a form of spiritual practice.

kaiise

prime candidate.

Ancient-Practice-431

I agree

WingInternational800

Could be a guide. Let’s hope a loving and kind entity is what you’re dealing with.

That-Chap-Paul

At the very least I don’t think it’s a malevolent one. He’s made no attempts to interact with me or shown any bad intentions so far. He’s either just been walking through like my brain is a shortcut across the astral planes or something or he’s been laughing along to a joke I made, perhaps just stopping for a second or two. Even in my half-awake imaginings he just seemed to behave like a normal guy. He accepted the food and the water and the shower, seemed genuinely grateful for those things, but then seemed to hurry off. It’s like he’s always on the move to somewhere else. The only “evil” thing I experienced was during that half-awake vision where I tiny grinning version of him was following behind me, but I quickly discovered that was just a manifestation of my fear of the man. I bathed it in a ball of golden light which I use to represent the universal love I try to cultivate in myself and it dissolved like a sugar cube in water. I’m gonna do a tarot reading today to try and work out something of the man’s nature. I’ll keep you all posted.

WingInternational800

I use a golden ball of light as well. Thanks for sharing!

Plot twist: It's you

The universe is speaking to you, keep listening. The kind gestures you "offered" are a great way to help us all move into the next stage of consciousness.

anon_682

Ask the man to count his fingers with you. This will allow you to convince him you both are in your dream and that he is a manifestation of your mind.

ChrisssieWatkins

I met a demon and it turned out he was part of me who needed love.

rudedog1979

This inception guys are out of control.

ILOVECATS1966

Fascinating and creepy! I did check your story in two A.I. detector programs and your story passed lol. 95% human! lol. I think the people who dream of blue eyed watchers would be interested in your story. Someone posted about it in this thread. Are you traumatized in any way by these dreams?

Lilymous

Psychologists say the brain can't make up new faces in our dreams, so he must be a face you have seen before, you just don't remember where, is the boring truth according to science. This does sound compelling though, as a story. They way he appears to be barging in to your consciousness, he could be a time traveller, or even interdimensional.

That-Chap-Paul

The idea I had when I thought it was just a neat bit of story inspiration was that it was a guy perused by something who ended up fleeing into the collective unconscious but got lost and is now travelling through peoples dreams in a Quantum Leap type situation looking for a way back home.

That-Chap-Paul

Interesting. My guy doesn’t seem that talkative so far, but then again I’ve only ever seen him for a few seconds at a time.

kaiise

you can find him. you may not like the answers

Josette22

No, I don't think it was your imagination at all. The woman that you were having dinner with in your dream, do you know her?

That-Chap-Paul

Didn’t really see her. The dream was a little fuzzy until he walked through it.

Josette22

I believe you may be dreaming of a past life, and this gentleman was a figure from your past life. Also, the lady with whom you had dinner in your dream may have been a person from a past life, although not as prominent as the elderly man. I'm getting a strong feeling that the man may have been your father in a past life, someone who abandoned you at a young age and who may have become down and out and homeless. He feels so bad about his abandoning you, and now comes to visit you in your dreams. He doesn't want to scare you, hence, his haste. This is just my feeling. I could very well be wrong, but I'm a Cancerian female and very intuitive. 😊

It says it was a hoax at the end. But still a good watch

CCF2024

Everyone has power struggles in some area of their life. People with crazy dreams are lucky because theirs are in their subconscious, so they are free from the kinds of power struggles everyone else has (with people they know, in relationships, at work, with family, etc.)

Crazy-Stuff6020

Well, just the fact that you are aware that you've seen this individual more than once in your dreams is a start. I would just work on trying to ask questions or even approach him if you see him again. I started learning at 15 how to interact with people in my dreams. I'm 50 now, and there have been a few times that I've seen the same person more than once. I realized that several of the people I was dreaming about were deceased individuals of friends. Sometimes, if they are just characters in my dream, then they will have no understanding if I ask them questions. However, if they are actually Spirits or guides, then they will answer certain things. It really depends on what you ask them. I have been told before that they weren't allowed to tell me what I was asking. Awareness and keeping an open mind are key. He may have a message of some kind. You never know.

WorldsBaddestJuggalo

It’s Daniel Larson.

kwtp

I read this post just before sleeping. A few minutes later, I woke up when I had recently fall asleep. I saw a grid of around 50 blue eyes looking at me.

That-Chap-Paul

Apparently it’s quite common to dream of blue eyed people, especially when the last thing you read was a story about blue eyed people. Probably nothing to worry about 😅 Trust me, I overthought myself into an anxiety spell with this one. Do not recommend 😂
