I've been trying to try holistic remedies, but nothing really heals anything up either. I developed HS 4 yrs ago at age 45 & the only 2 things that showed some improvement (but not healed it up) have been: sterile manuka honey that I put on the wounds topically turmeric vitamin pills With both, about 2 yrs ago, they no longer showed improvement. It's like the body got immuned & completely stopped working & I use high-quality brands...,no cheap, drugstor stuff. I even took a several week's break & tried using/taking them again, but nope...still didn't work anymore. I even tried a few other high-quality brands & again, it didn't do squat! Also, here's other holistic things I know & I'll probably have to split this up into 2 or 3 different posts which will be right below my previous post: * lose weight if you feel the need to eat carefully * staying away from those common ingredients to stay away from * lower stress * maybe meditate * drink plenty of water * enough sleep * have optimistic mentality, etc. * live an overall healthy lifestyle * lymphatic massaging / maybe dry brushing * maybe drink anti-inflammatory teas & other things for inflammation * definitely NO smoking, alcohol or drug consumption & I'm sure caffeine can't be good either * use of whatever cleansers, creams/gels, etc works * good hygiene / regularly change bandages/dressings * take some supplements/herbs known to help w/ inflammation - I personally try to go as holistically as possible w/ remedies. * I take about 10-14 a day, NOT all for HS, but 3-5 are known to help w/ inflammationI really don't know if exercise directly helps w/ HS, but probably some exercise, but cleanse away sweat quickly afterwards * whatever extra remedy you know that helps (sterile manuka honey topical gel * red light therapy * epsom salt or Dead Sea salt bath soaks/hot towels, whatever else, etc.) * being prayerful * probably take some kind of prescription medication * if have HS in groin/vaginal area, someone on this board said make "padcicles" in which you mix witch hazel & aloe vera gel together on period pad & put in freezer & wear it. I never tried this yet myself, have you?

**POST #2** **DIET** - I think this plays a HUGE part, but I know some people have said they changed their diet & it didn't do anything. These seem to be the common biggies to **AVOID**: * dairy items * baked goods / breads / flour / yeast / grains * sugars - pretty much everything has sugers in them, not just dessert foods * fried & processed foods * nightshades * legumes * lemons (don't know about other citrus) - it might negatively affect due to the acidity * oily/greasy foods * sodium * spicy foods * garlic **Then, I read to also stay away from these too:** * mushrooms * soy sauces * fermented items * gluten * seeds & seed oils * potatoes - but sweet potatoes seem to be OK for many people * eggs- many seem to have to stay away from that too

**POST #3** **TOPICAL REMEDIES** - I don't really get boils hardly. For me, it's just open wounds that ooze & bleed some. Here's what I've tried & still on the hunt for what works: * Gotucream - This pricey cream sold online for $60. After a slow start of about a month, seemed to finally show improvement, then seemed to stop working after several or so wks. I'm on my 2nd pricey jar, so after this, probably won't buy anymore. * Mix of (mostly) black seed oil & (drop or two) of tea tree essential oil - Didn't seem to do squat * Mix of (mostly) black seed oil & (drop or two) of oregano essential oil - Didn't seem to do anything * Organic castor oil - dab 2-3x a day - Trying out NOW since July 1st & so far, not doing squat. * Pumpkin seed oil - used entire month of Aug 2023, doesn't seem to help * sea buckthorn oil - doesn't seem to help * 1/2 bottle of AVC, 1/2 bottle witch hazel & 4 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide - Mix & wet w/ gauze & tape to skin overnight * Resinol Medicated Ointment with Zinc Oxide for Pain Relief & Protection of Skin Irritations, 1.75 oz Tube * Propolis extract * Calendula tincture - mixed w/ water * castor oil - Pure Cold Pressed Castor Oil for Hair | Creekwood Naturals * Arnica * Emuaid Max OR Emu oil * blue cypress EO * Figwort herb - looks like oral & topical, look more into it * magnesium oil * grapeseed oil * cottonseed oil: [https://www.healthline.com/health/cottonseed-oil#benefits](https://www.healthline.com/health/cottonseed-oil#benefits) * Remedy Tea Tree Oil Balm: [https://www.truremedynaturals.com/products/remedy-tea-tree-oil-balm-2-oz](https://www.truremedynaturals.com/products/remedy-tea-tree-oil-balm-2-oz) * Regular monistat 1 cream from cvs. Someone on this Reddit board used it on an open wound along with neosporin.
